Just picked up one exactly like it. 65k miles. One owner. Guy said he was planning to donate it but I offered to buy and he just wanted blue book value for it. Got lucky to have one with all the service records from the dealer. Planning to keep it as close to stock as possible for as long as I can.
My black 1992 GTS still sits in the driveway. I am still in love and can't bring myself to have it towed away. Nothing else like it. My Lexus IS350 is nowhere near the same car with respect to quality. The Celica was built with pride, inside and out.
the one thing I remember about my 90 GT-S was finding the tires for it! other than that I really loved it til a stop light runner totalled it😭I had the antenna motor go on mine but you can remove the motor and put it up and down manually👍
this was my first car. bought it off my dads co worker back in 2004 for $600 after i got my license. favorite car ive ever owned. i wish i had kept it. really didnt appreciate what i had. would have been fun to keep as a project car.
There's a '92 Celica GTS for sale near me and i really wanna buy it it's pretty clean.. 200K km on the milage, 3000CAD and automatic the owner said it's been chilling in a garage for 15 years. my dad and everyone i know around me are begging me not to buy it because it "burns oil" and idk.. what do you guys say?
3000 isn't teerrrrrible, but definitely if you're set on it, take a look at it, maybe with a mechanic. Sitting for 15 years is a long time, it might not run?
K G My apologies, I don’t. I actually sold this car a moth after I made this video. Part of that reason was because it had that janky alarm that would just go off and disable the car. Try the Toyota forums?
Yeah I had the same problem on mine at first, the key needs to be in the ignition and turned back and forth a few times and it will disable the alarm, ask your mechanic and I'm sure they could tell you how to pull the entire alarm system out as it's pretty easy
@@blaiddifanc8683 i know that.....its just something different about the 90s Toyotas though....i dont know what the Japanese did but they made true driving machines....i dont know if they put the same kind of thought/science into the lexus lol.....you can have the leather seats and all the fancy stuff but this old Celica is literally like a army tank in the flesh

92 and 93 have the same fog lights which should be exactly what this one has. 90 and 91 have a slightly different style because of the different bumper.
@@Dashierez Not in Canada. 1992 has the grill over the fog lamps. 1993 is as shown in the video. Google "1992 Celica" and you'll see most have the grills.
@@JohnnyRawks Some do, but not all and it's not a variant that's based on year as there are plenty with the same bumper as this - plus people like to swap around trim differences they like since most aren't restrictive (I'm contemplating putting 92-93 tails on my 91 as an example). Canada should have the same versions as the rest of NA really I would think. But either way that's just the bumper itself as the fog lamps and housing should be the same. Google 5th gen fog lights and you should find that there are only 2 OEM options, 90-91 and 92-93.
@@Dashierez Huh. Maybe it's a trim variant between the GT and GT-S, for example. Beats me. Almost all the 1992's I've seen in person have the grill. 1993's are quite rare I find, and the ones I've seen always have the grill-less lamps. I had a 1991 GT for a year or so before I got my 1992 GT-S, which I still have, but it has been parked for 6 years. Needs some body work. I'll probably have it towed way before too long. It's hard to let it go.
@@JohnnyRawks I just recently got back into owning one myself when I found this 91 conv gt at a good price and low miles. I'm honestly not sure if it's just a trim variant or optional look though. I know these have redundancies for options even if they aren't there as my gt is wired for fogs even though it didn't come with them just because it's a gt.
That was my first car, Soo friggen annoying when someone says ceeelika, piss off that sounds so dumb. It's a Japanese car and they pronounce it celeeka aka the right way.
