Yeah back in the day, having the car was everything a! That car looked fun to drive - got super excited for a split second when I saw your instagram reel thinking it was a white supra 😮

I was recommend this video via JayEmm’s channel and it’s so relevant to me it’s unreal! Absolutely the best looking JDM car for me, another cracking review Ben. Big love to @jayemm for persevering with the restoration and letting the girls enjoy some time in it too!
Love these cars. I had the ST185 GT Four, black with white OZ wheels. My first 200+ HP 4x4 car. I’m suddenly missing it😢 Thanks for the trip down memory lane 😊
Have owned an ST205 for over 20 years. They have been, for a very long time, totally overlooked by the JDM scene. Car scene in general TBH. Always in the shadow of the supra. Its amazing how many people are still surprised when I inform them that the "Four" in the name is in fact 4WD. Very little is known about these cars on the whole. They have flaws, In abundance. But they also have one of the most intoxicating characters of any car I have ever driven. I have owned mine long enough to have seen them go from RARE to COMMON and back to RARE again and It's nice being a member what is becoming an even more exclusive club as time goes on. especially in the last 24 months as it seems these cars are being noticed and dare I say, even sought after. When I used to get asked "Should I buy one?" I'd typically say no .BUT, If you are willing to give it the dedication and love these cars require and deserve. Then you will without a doubt fall totally in love with it. Some days hate it. Some days wonder if you should get rid of it. But when all is good. and you get to your favourite piece of road on a summer evening. you remember why its part of your life.
Couldnt say it better myself! Im in that should i sell it predicament… ive done all of the maintenance on it so far with modification included. They definitely need love and even more money haha. Once i get my propshaft sorted, autox is in the plans
This was a great vid. You definitely have a solid presenting style, i love the 'dad' spin you put in reviews being a father of three myself and you have just earned a new subscriber. My second car at 18 years old was a mk2 mr2 2.0 n/a and i felt like the coolest lad in the city, at least until i span out at a roundabout in the rain trying to impress my girlfriend, ignited a love of rear wheel drive though and i really wish i had kept it. Keep up the good work my guy i think you could really become successful doing this.

Hi Ben. Hope your doing good. That was one very cool video. My sister still has her old 1980s Toyota Supra V6. They are awesome cars. Always loved the Celica's, Supra's & Celica GT-S Convertibles. Take care and stay safe.
Love the ST205’s and I nearly bought one a few years ago when I wanted to get a JDM but being a Dad I had a number of boxes to tick to get it passed the misses which included safety, size, can I get the kids and dog in it at the same time….the car i finally bought, and still absolutely love, is a Forester STI not quite a 90’s car (05) but it’s got no traction control, no ESP etc so u still get that analogue feel
Great video mate! For a Dad car, you try a 1997-2001 manual Toyota Caldina GT-T. The same 4wd system as the celica and the 4th Gen 3SGTE had 260BHP(at the flywheel)
Just picked up a 42k mile, 2003 Nismo kitted Nissan Skyline 350 GT (V35) Auto (tip), absolutley love the ‘Jap muscle car ness’ of it and it has the best back seats. Actually bought it specifically as a Dad car for when out with my 2 daughters. Great vid, Ive met James a couple of times, he came over to us to drive the DB9 based Brad Walsh BAE Vantare, he’s top fella.
Now that’s a DadCar 👏 well done my man, you’re doing it right. Hope to get a skyline on the channel at some point. Yes I remember watching that vantare video.
Until just now, I'd forgotten that I rode in the back of one of these, nonturbo fwd, 32 years ago back in college. The owner would smoothly let out the clutch, floor it, and shift- at 2,000 revs! In every gear! I told her it would be MUCH quicker if she'd actually let it rev up anywhere close to the 6 grand redline.
Great idea for a channel! I’m here most nights thinking of what 80/90’s car I can get away with next…. First question can I get three car seats in 😂 Also hats off to you.. having 4 kids and running a channel. I just about get enough time to watch TH-cam
Taking them with me on the filming days is the only way I can do it! Takes a lot longer but we’re just having a day of fun together. Check out the quattroporte video I did as all 4 are in the car with me 😅 oh and I’m a massive fallout fan, had the first one on Pc when I was a kid.
I own the ST205 GT4 sister the convertible which was the same price when new, but has the same engine base as it and they are very cheap to buy but bags of fun and style
@Dadcars it's not bad as I have been to france in it and showed at the NEC, and yes, they are a rare sight to see, but it gives you 90s fun without breaking the bank and roof down fun
Great video! As a car guy and new dad I'm trying to look for the happy medium! I had a 97 dep sol and obviously that had to go cause no rear seats at all so I sold it and got a 00 Celica GT-S. I haven't tried to put the baby in the back seat yet as I have other family cars I've been using but to know that it could if I needed to is great! I also have a 91 Stealth RT Turbo that the rear seats are a definite no for anyone but maybe a small child just out of a booster seat
@dadcars Thanks! Even my family cars are more "fun-oriented" 😂 My wife has claimed the 2011 R/T Charger as her favorite and that this is just so big and comfy! Last year before my son was born we picked up a 2011 Mini Countryman S ALL4 and that little thing rips in the snow and is so fun! Having American, JDM, and a Euro makes it easy to understand how ALL cars can be special in their own ways and should be appreciated no matter what your preferences are! I always get flack for having so many cars but I genuinely appreciate every one of them in their own way from my 1st car (00 CRV 5spd which I still have 235k miles goin strong) to my newest (the Celica) I make sure to take care of and drive them all!
