I searched for 6 mos, found mine last week, flew & drove home! '03 with under 100K for $6500. The leather is like new, body is nearly perfect, babied by only 2 owners in south. It is SO beautiful! I agree with all your reasons but since I don't drive manual...well yea it's automatic. Maybe learn for next one!;) But I plan to keep this fantastic car for years!! I bought one 6 months ago and i am in absolute LOVE! i love how unique it is. It has made my life so much better. I daily drive it And having 6 gears makes driving it so much more fun. And i get so much attention and alot of compliments because people who never seen one thinks that im driving a really expensive exotic car lol. Not to mention all the mods ive done makes it look even more different. They are just beyond great im never gonna get rid of mine. I cant name a better car to have. These cars were definitely ahead of their time
I love your enthusiasm for this car. Might I suggest a 6th reason to buy a Celica. The liftback or liftgate. When you fold the rear seat down there is about an acre of space back there. I put a blanket over that space for my dog and she loves it, lots if room for her to lie down or move around. So this isn't just a sporty ride, it's practical too! Good for tools, surfboards, whatever.
Living in a apartment has been hell on mine, I had mine vandalized and I refuse to fix anything on the exterior until I finish renovating the house I just bought. Gonna need new headlight assemblies and front fenders and a new coat of silver metallic but mechanically my car is perfect. No grinding gears, lift engages, and the curvy roads around where I live make driving a blast!
Totally agree with you Mitch, as you know I bought a 2000 model with only 20 000km on it 5 months ago (for $9500 AUS). I'm tastefully modding it up with the option of returning it to 100% stock if that is a better option to sell in the future.
Hey Mitch, I just bought a 2002 Celica Gts with the TRD package and a phase 3 chip. This is my second Celica, the first was a second generation I bought in the 80's. Everything you said is spot on. I had to laugh when you stumbled and said Honda. This Celica being a front wheel drive I feel like I'm driving a Honda.
I’ve got a 01 Gt with 250,000 all my miles! Castro’s GTX every 3000. No valve noise at all, made in Japan. Auto , ac all works. Thinking about painting. 2000 seems high for paint. Never had a car for more than 3 years before celiac. 20 years same owner.. Love ❤️

@@MitchDore It's fantastic, even with the few things that can use some love (3rd gear is a bit tricky to operate). I am already making a list, of things I want to do to it; cars and everything car related is very expensive here, so it will be a month or two before I can get started.

I absolutely love mine celica. My only 3 issues: the butt looks pretty high, the body line is not straight but slightly angeled. Would be perfect if the low window line would be parallel to the street. next issue: still got the original lights. If there would be some sharper angeled lines in the lights like in the ferrari 488 or nissan gtr that car would look definitely 100 times more agressive what leads me to my last point. The car looks agressive, and when you ride alone you can have fun with it. I change the lift bolt and the vvtl oil screen recently and she run like the old times. Rear brake are a pain in the arse but everything else is guud

I know they're fairly different cars but I'm looking for a first car and it's a toss up between the Mazda 2 sport and the Toyota Celica. I need space for at least four people in the car though, I would use it for fairly long journeys and I need decent fuel economy, ideally at least 40mpg combined UK.
