Nice video, always nice to see people try out speedrunning in MH! Like another comment pointed out: the reasoning for no Qurio augments in TAwiki is due to the RNG factor, not to mention PC modding that makes it go off the rails. Though there are quite a few TA+Augments runs.
Yeah pretty much all speedrunning has some aspect of RNG, just a matter of what the community tolerates. It does feel weird to allow crazy talismans but not armor augments when the talismans are arguably even harder to dredge up. It seems like TA+Augment is generally the most ran category, so in my opinion it was a bad call for TAWiki. I'd say either a TA Wiki w/ nothing (no charm OR quirio), or one with everything seems the more sensible.
Maybe the Qurious rule is made so every speedrunner has the same chances with the actual armor skills and not having to ultragrind for a sweet ass buff
Maybe it's because Qurious Armor crafting being heavily RNG-based makes certain builds obscenely difficult to achieve time-wise; taking the fun out of actually grinding the monster to get an optimal time. It's not very competetive, in that sense. That's just a complete guess, though.
The TA rules curio augment restriction has to do with that there wasn’t a way to determine the maxium potential for it iirc. Combined with that the TA wants builds that other people could recreate. PC players could very easily go over the limit of what was normally possible, for example a silver sol helm where all 3 lvls of windproof got removed for dps skills like MofH. Those rolls would seem legit, because they wouldn’t exceed the value limit of the armorpiece theoretically, however there are more limits to your rolls then just that theoretical value a piece can have. Console players have ofc no way to access those kind of curio augments, which made the whole system kind of a mess. I agree that it’s kinda of a shame, because its a cool system that allows for a lot of creativity when building a set. Halfbanning it would have been kinda hard I guess, because where would you draw the line? One skill at +1 addition as maximum seems like a reasonable option, but then you get stuff where some pieces could only be used if a certain skill was removed, however not meeting those criteria and be illegal.
Nice video nibelsnarf, speedrunning is something I started to do, its difficult but it’s really fun once you get the good run I started to speed run in frontier and it’s harder then anything I have ever tried
I suppose the No Qurious armor crafting rule is like that because it's a meachanic that relies heavily on RNG and is hard to replicate. People would have to spend hours grinding and rolling for good stuff, and it kind of defeats the spirit of the category. That's my guess. Idunno.
i havent played that much rise, so ill speak from mostly world experience. in non-ta runs people would just mantle up and/or bomb themselves to activate heroics, which couldnt be done in ta rules, so if heroics were legal, it would most likely involve getting hit by a specific monster attack as soon as possible, which you can imagine is miserably rng and unfun, if youre trying to get a god run.
I spose the no qurio crafting rule is for if someone wanted to replicate your run, it’s hard to copy a build to an exact T if it’s got minded qurios crafting sometimes
Thank you for doing this video.. I know most player think playing bow is easy But to do a hitless n fast run, are hard bcos bow counter are not like other weapon.. u need to perfectly timed it..i mean literally on impact.. Anyway, congrats on yr great shagaru run..i mean u are doing an adrenaline run, which is impressive..i myself will not try for adrenaline..too stressful😅😅😅 Btw shoutout to eddieweekley, a great bow speedrunner💪💪💪
Honestly for a casual player looking to get into speedrunning I'd say... don't 😅 I think a better alternative for a casual player is arena. I myself would say I'm more of a casual player, but I recently got all S ranks on arena, mr arena and challenges and it was mildly frustrating at times, but also hella fun and let me try a lot of different weapons and play styles
when you turn monster hunter into megafauna extermination competition

Rise is non main line…..

presumably it's this. Similair to relic grinding in mh4u just for that perfect 0.1% chance of the right relic weapon.
Cheats exist, and i think they are valid in this case, but there are people who play on console so it's complicated
Watching the streams was so much fun! Would love to see you do other speedruns!

Lovely gameplay! Looking forward for more videos like this!
Ggs snarff it was fun watching the streams live

Your character's voice was going crazy
Amazing run brother! Speedrunning isn’t for me as I’m a hyper perfectionist and making a mistake would infuriate me. But I love to watch them 😅
Never done actual speedrun attempts but as long as i can kill a g rank/master rank monster in under 5 mins im usually proud of my self

Nice one !
PriMal was definitely an experience lmao
youre a great content creator! just outta curiosity, do you think you will ever sprawl out to other games?
Not any time soon and if I were I would probably only do stuff in Pokémon or souls games
@@nibelsnarf5977 oh well no big loss your mh content is great anyways :3

Don't speedrunners mostly just hack whatever equipment they need into the game after figuring out an optimal build via spreadsheet?
