If you've played Insect Glaive, what are some of the coolest monsters to fight with this weapon? I'm interested to know, 'cause this weapon changes the gameplay a lot!
Finishing a fight with a downward thrust is one of the best feelings in this game, birderline orgasmic I might say. Just recently I got one against Velkana and good God almighty it was amazing, plus I was playing with a friend so for once I had a witness
An addendum for our dear viewers: Rai has since taken down AT Velkhana using IG, I bore witness (ya know, being in that same hunt and all) It didn't come across in the edit, but Rai has been duly inducted into the IG Brotherhood.
Flying monsters are one of the few excuses, but otherwose donr fall into the trap of staying in the air. Most of your dps comes from your ground attacks. The downward spin gives you the best success for mounting, but the dodge spinning slashes can as well. The downward thrust is great for coming down to do damage as not only does it start your chain, but it also marks the monster foe the kinsect, if the kinsect was stowed before hand itll pop out as you activate downward thrust, then drive itself through the monster dealing damage if you hit then with the swing at the end of downward thrust. My pattern is usually, *feed the bug* , spam for mount attack, once the monster is down start with a downward thrust to get bug out and position myself where i want, hit'em with the ground combo, repeat. Kinsect must be utilized and the spinning horizontal air slashes are great for popping clouds but probably the weakest attack in your kit.
Yeah, my usual style with IG now is downward thrust + B combo spam while weaving in mount attacks here and there. Gotta keep remembering to **feed the bug**!
@WreckitRai another little known tip if you aren't sick of me of the wall of text aha, Red and white buff is all you really need. All of them are nice. However, you can't refresh them after that point, and they are put on a set cooldown (increased with power prolonger) buuuuut you can re-apply them as long as you *don't* aquire all 3. It's also really easy to hit the head with a downward strike to keep acquiring the red buff while you're fighting. Sorry, I recently did a dragoon build and got really into it. Recently found your channel, and I can't wait to see you in the wilds.
As a Helicopter main, i do have to say, youve yet to experience peak IG, imagine if you will, something that can fly flaps up into the sky to zone out but as its going up, so do you, and you hit the stagger/down threshold IN THE SKY
Insect Glaive is quite simple actually (speaking as an ig main) without the three essences you're essentially weak asf and after getting all three essences you get buffed to chad and achieve higher damage, assuming of course you have a good glaive
I’m sure someone said this already but a large chunk of your dps on IG comes from bursting the dust clouds that your kinsect leaves behind, so check the dust effect because if a monster is weak to say blast and you have blast dust on a kinsect, then breaking the dust clouds boosts your dps
i actually love arch tempered over normal velkhana the fight is just so good and i love her moveset i also have 150 arch tempered hunts lmao spread HBG shreds her
Haven't played IG in World yet, but it's one of the weapons I have the most experience with in Rise Most memorable moment so far is definitely my first Rathian hunt with it. Before her I was only fighting grounded monster and started to feel like air is MY domain and when she tried to take off the first time I took it personally and brought her down with the down thrust thingy with the words "Sit down, bitch!" 😅 Sounds dumb probably, but it felt absolutely amazing in the moment
Hey i know im a month late but becasue i saw that in the other videos too. If you are bleeding you can crouch and stay still for 2-3 seconds and the bleeding will stop.
I heard most obnoxious monster in the game.....my brain rolls through like 5 monsters.....and suddenly goldie....one of the monsters thats basically a free kill with IG lol
How do you give the kinsekt the red and the orange Food (the buffs that use up slinger ammo)? I tried it and getting the second one removed the first one.
honestly speaking, insect glaive is fun, more when you have blast insect glaive and blast attack 4, just seeing the monsters take extra damage from the explosions is satisfying, more when the explosion is 300 damage or in shara's case with 600 blast, also behemoth has almost the same health pool as shara ishvalda, shara being at more than 37k without reaching 38k, and behemoth having 35k health.
@@WreckitRai right now I'm rocking the ore insect glaive, although I don't really recommend it since you do need free element to unlock the full potential of it, I'm also using all damascus B for the slots and an awakening charm, it's an upgrade from what I had before which was an anti lunastra build.

Beazel is pretty fun, tbh anyone that abuses air time is fun.
Shara can also be fun.

Alatreon is super fun, the kinsect can do the elemental dps check alone easily

my favorite weapons are the greatsword, insect glaive, switch axe and dual blades... i love diverse styles...
Insect glaive against normal/at velk is really fun cause most of the attacks are ground based, and there's maybe 1 or 2 attacks that can hit you
Insect Glaive was my crutch for so,e of the tougher fights in World. So much can be easily dodged in aerial style.

I think it might have something to do with the type of Kinsect Power your Insect Glaive has? The one I'm using had the "Spirit and Strength" type
I looked up the Kinsect Power descriptions on fextralife and you are right. The spirit and strength Kinsect Power gives both buffs instead one.
I mean the weapon ain't hard to understand the first time I used it took me few minutes. Also the weapons uses way less stamina compared to the bow
