People think of percussion as a non melodic thing. It's not. Every sound you hear has a significance, has a note. Every kind of instrument that creates sound has the capacity to create some melody.

The dude is just so damn relaxed, lol. I mean of course the playing and musicality is off the charts. But I just can't get over how relaxed he and his playing is.
There's nothing really strenuous about playing standard 4/4 time blues standards. Of course he's relaxed.
@@hammondOT It's not about 4/4 or odd meters. Playing Take Five is easier than this. Daniel is right.
@@hammondOT fagan and becker hired a Wendel to play 4/4 on hey nineteen. Pete Erskine famously told a masterclass he practiced that same 4/4 drum beat for two weeks straight in preparation for a steely dan tour. You ever try to play along to west of hollywood perfectly? Something tells me you don't really understand music at the depths of masters but then again you're calling what Marcus is doing is 'standard 4/4 time' so I'm not judging you for being wrong, I'm judging you for being confidently wrong.
I'm sure nobody in that room was the same after this performance, a true gift.

When I first heard this song for the first time about three years ago I liked it but after listening to it today I just realized how fantastic this performance is. It's a classic.
The keyboard Guy was making pure Gold on this track. Everything on this video hás a great musicality and impecable taste.

I've been practicing this song over and over again on my lil practice kit, I've gotten to the point where I can kind of memorize certain parts BUT not even close to what this guy can do, his speed and playing two cymbals with one foot is CRAZY! MY FAVORITE ZILDJIAN LIVE!
