    How the hell did this episode manage to feel like a crime thriller in the 1st act, a western train heist in the 2nd, and a tribal fantasy in the 3rd?!?!?!?
    This show is actually making me love Boba Fett not just as a badass warrior but as a person. And I had no idea I would come to love this tribe of Tuskens this much. I guarantee at the next Star Wars Celebration there are going to be entire tribes of Tuskens using the exact choreography of the final dance like we see in this episode.

Even at his age he wants to keep learning. That’s what makes him the best.

    This episode actually showed some parallels between the Jedi and the Tuskens in regards to the bonds they share with their weapons.
    They both have to go on a spiritual mind quest to find the fundamental materials of their weapons. In the Tusken's case they need to explore a vast desert to find a branch suitable for their Gaffi sticks. In the case of the Jedi they have to explore a vast cave system to find a suitable Kyber Crystal for their lightsabers.
    Both of them then must assemble and personalize their weapons so that no two weapons are the same, and they would hold sacred value to the person who made them.
    Really quite an interesting addition to the Tusken Raiders canon.

      @hellfish2309 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s the part I found a little contrived, not that it’s bad: like EVERY culture in the galaxy far far away ceremonializes a weapon in nearly the same way? Jedi w/ their lightsabers, Mandos w/ their armor (though possibly tradition taken from the Jedi), now Tuskans w/ their Gaffi sticks? Feels like every culture is putting such meta weight on their weapon just because they live in Star Wars…

    Holy crap season 1 episode 2 of The Book of Boba Fett was a nice improvement from episode 1. This episode really showed the origin of how he went through his training in detail with the Tusken Raiders. This episode really showed the start of Boba Fett's Crucible for sure. The whole exposition between Boba and Tusken Raiders for the flashback scenes are really good. The present day scenes are okay but the Flashback sequences are what really make this episode standout so well. We really get to see a different side to the Tusken Raiders as they are not the stereotypical bad guys. They also have depth and dimension and you can sympathize with what they are going through. When Boba Fett says "Jabba ruled with fear, I intend to rule with respect..." we finally get that origin story in this episode after the whole train sequence battle when they capture the enemies. You really see Boba being courteous in the most brutal way possible. I will say this the whole train sequence with Boba leading the charge with the Tusken raiders looked really good. You really get to see the action, no shaky cam, the actors performing the stunts and you also get the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings moment with One of the Tusken Raider(s) with the one shot sequence inside the train similar to the bus sequence. What really made this episode special was the ending with him acquiring the weapon, the garb etc., since that's the same clothes and weapon he had leading to the Mandalorian season 2 finale. The ending with Boba performing the War Dance with the other Tusken Raiders was so good because it felt like a celebration of life. Also that end sequence felt like Dances with Wolves with the Native American tribe.

    I just keep laughing at how that assassin was more afraid of the Rancor than beheading! Those Hutts were so realistic that they could almost pass for practical puppets and you couldn't help but notice how those guys were struggling to hold them up. And so now the deleted Toshi Station scene in ANH is made canon, complete with a couple who could only be Luke's old friends from before he left Tatooine

    Part of me feels that by being daimyo of Tattooine he gets to be a valuable member of Tuscan raiders and can protect them from an outside influence they know little about but where in he feels at home. He already established them receiving a toll from offworlders, introduced them to technologies they can no longer feel at ease disregarding, and it is clear he values them as a people in general as well as his newly adopted family. In the movies Boba Fett loved his father as evidenced by the joy they had together when flying Slave 1. Now a group that could have left him for dead not only saved him and let him prove his worth, but completely accepted him as one of their own. He has a family worth protecting now, who desperately need his experience and skill set to cope with an ever technologically progressing universe.

    How Boba changes is actually the theme of the show I feel; I think the best way to truly describe the central theme of this show, to harken back to your comments about being "reborn", "Who is Boba Fett, if not a bounty hunter?".
    If you think about it, he makes sure to explicitly clarify repeatedly that he isn't a bounty hunter; the show is trying to explore what the new Boba is, the old bounty hunter one truly dying in the sarlacc.
    Who is Boba Fett? That is the theme of the story, it's a story of identity and self-discovery in my opinion.

    Showing the Tuskens as they are is very much like how the indigenous tribes in the States were always perceived in the beginning as uncivilized savages. The Western, Samurai, gangster vibe is ever present. I am so loving that the Maori culture is also being imbued in this series. Plus the trauma that Boba has lived with for so long and his subsequent rebirth - both figurative & literal, shaped who he is currently. Just like with Mando, who he thought he was changed the second Grogu came into his life. I am so happy this series is giving Boba depth. Giving us the man behind the helmet & bravado. Always great analysis gents! Fan of your reactions. 🎆

    The lizard is like a guide and maybe releases a hallucinogenic compound to guide him. Many cultures in our world use the hallucinogenic powder or even drink. Like for example there is a Central or South American country tribe have a drink that can send you on a somewhat a spirit quest. Also, part of the drink ingredients is the Coca Plant.

    Morrison has talked about how he worked closely with the showrunners (in this and Mando I believe) about the Tuskens, because the gaffi looks a lot like a Maori war club, so he was trained to use it since a child. You can see the influence of Maori culture in the dance at the end.
    Also love the Toschi Station easter egg, with Luke's friends and all! Recreated right out of the deleted scene from A New Hope.

    One thing I absolutely love about the Star Wars TV shows is that they often indirectly reference or take ideas from Knights of the Old Republic. One of the best games ever made. Not sure KOTOR 1 was the first to do this but the Sand People/Dune Sea main missions (if played Light Side with HK-47) had similar insight into tusken raider culture and humanized them.
