Most awesomely ridiculous part of the episode was Danny Trejo teaching us the softer side of Rancors

It makes sense canonically if you recall the trainer's reaction in episode 6 to the death of Jabba's rancor

That has been a thing since "The Courtship of Princess Leia". Rancors build a strong bond with their riders, -The Force Unleashed. Before he had a name the Rancor Luke killed was being starved and abused so he will be overly aggressive.
-Tales from Tatooine. The Dathomir witches would ride Rancors and have a Force Bond with them. But that was retconned out until now. I guess all the Rancor Riders were off screen when the droid army attacked. The essential guide to has once again been made relevant.
I love Danny Trejo. Underutilized and (traditionally) underrated actor.
One thing I noticed is through the flashbacks we see that everything has been taken from him. He lost his childhood home, he lost his dad, his armor and now the Tuskins. When he was a bounty hunter he was feared, but now he wants to be accepted and respected.
He also lost his brothers, not that he was ever particularly close to them

I almost had a heart attack when Krrsantan ripped bobba fett out of the tank and almost killed Bobba during his healing process
Krrsantan was a menace this episode. They definitely managed to make him look like a terrifying force of nature. And all he had were his modified fists. He wasn't even equipped with his usual weaponry.
That’s because the modded fists was something he was known for in comics. The slavers surgically installed the knuckles into his hands.

@@rubbersoul9462 Teenagers with rather extreme cybernetic enhancements who grew up fending for themselves in literally one of the most hostile environments in the galaxy. And they hardly managed to do anything aside from annoy him, and maneuver him over the rancor pit.
He was nerfed in the sense that he didn't bring most of his paraphernalia with him, but I think it's believable enough.
The look on Krrasantans face when they're letting him go hes like "yo wtf? These guys are crazy! Im outta here."

He will be back 100% and the little Tuskan Raider kid, i still say he survived and will pop back at some point as a young adult
@@republicofcasuals Don't forget about the female tusken warrior, she might have escaped with the kid and trains him like she did with Boba, both then return to help him.
I started to get a little misty when he put the chieftain's Gaffi stick on the fire, but when he put the kids stick in, I actually broke down. 😭 Amazing how they made us care about the Tuskens in just a couple of episodes.
Btw, did anyone else freeze frame on the painting of Jabba, that was a nice touch.

I'm actually kinda annoyed that, after all the development the Tuskens got in previous episodes, they get off-screened to death here, just to give Boba extra motivation to kill those niktos. :/

The amount of things i love about this episode is unreal. Just the casting of certain characters alone and a legends character being brought to canon is just enough already, but no, THEY GAVE US A LIVE ACTION RANCOR FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ALMOST 40 YEARS

There are so many “Oh, damn!” moments in this episode
The new recruits with cybernetic implants making them half machine reminded me of the episode from Batman Beyond episode "April Moon" where a group of ruffians get cybernetic upgrade by forcing doctor to help them by kidnapping his wife which itself was a surprise twist. When it comes to storyline I definitely there is going to be some double cross happening for sure especially now Danny Trejo's character has become part of Boba Fett's inner circle in someway. Stephen Root playing a weasel, scoundrel type character was great I remember him from NewsRadio since that was a memorable performance. Also I believe I saw Amy Sedaris' character from The Mandalorian passing by during the flashback with Boba Fett as he was going to see the Pykes.
I wanted Stephen Root to mutter a threat to burn Fett's palace down.
I love what they are doing with this show. Especially since I've always hated the Tuskins now I'm like "They aren't THAT bad" Lmao Really great show so far.
I guess like they said in the show, there’re various Tuskin tribes in Tatooine with very different cultural values

I loved this episode, the only complaint I have is with the bike chase scene. For some reason it looked like they were going really slow
You’re not the only one, believe me. That whole sequence was laughable. So slow and lacking intensity. And then Boba just jet packs on the scene. Would’ve been a lot cooler to see him jet pack after that guy

That's probably because they were going really slow.. xD
It has to do with the fact they were driving in the city streets which arent very wide from the looks of it. So while they were driving slower than they would be on open ground, they were still going faster than if you ran
That chase scene was awful. Almost ruined the episode for me.

Am I the only one who wasn’t massively keen on the character/costume design for the street gang? Just how contrasty and vibrant they looked, especially the 4 different coloured speeder bikes. It was giving me power ranger / spy kids vibes. I can obviously look past it but I just feel they look pretty out of place within the star wars universe compared to a lot of the character designs they tend to go with. The main girl looked like she was straight out of CyberPunk 2077 or something
It's a case of don't let the little things ruin the overall picture. It's clear what it is as TV has been doing the same thing to make everyone happy in these big shows since 2015 and caving to present day issues and trends. In this case it's the... where are we at... ZOOMERS... DOOMERS.... kids that know everything and everyone else is just a BOOMER living in the past.... Anyway, it's just trying to keep the young crowds attention in a world filled with nostalgia for the rest of us

I like how this episode kind of shed some light on what Malakili (Jabba's rancor trainer/handler) had probably gone through. If this is true what was said about rancors and imprinting then it was probably him that it imprinted on. Even if not they were obviously very close and that seems even more real now that we learn how emotional rancors can be. Next time I see ROTJ I'll probably feel even more sorry after the rancor dies. Damn Jedi...
The book, The Courtship of Princess Leia, takes place on Dathomir and covers the rancors and their handlers, the witches of Dathomir, if you are interested in learning more.
I am convinced that the script-writers and editors also knew that they would piss off some fans with the meditative flash-backs from Boba resting in his bath. Thus Krrsantan rudly ripping him out of his happy dreams - I am sure that was an intentional nod to those who want less mythology and more action. "Waky Waky Boba - real world is here and now". (I could spend an entire season in the flash backs/getting to know the Tuskens - but I guess we only have a visit to the "bikers" left to see now).
I mean, we could see the details of Boba rescuing Fennec from death too, but yeah, there doesn't seem to be much past left.

Lowkey a super wholesome moment, Boba Fett sending a Gamorrean to his Bacta tank to heal an injury. And then getting a Rancor and automatically treating it like his new puppy.
It was sad seeing the Tusken tribe dead and their home burning. I had a feeling that the reason why Boba was alone was because he lost his new family. The burning of the leader's staff was sad but come on really they had to kill the kid too like that made it more sadder.
I hope the female Tusken Warrior is still alive somewhere, we didn't see her body or anything.

The kid Ain't dead in my opinion. As there's a 5 year gap from joining the Tuskan Raiders and present day, the kid will be a young adult now and no doubt will join Boba eventually when they somehow cross paths 😁
Overall, I loved this episode. It's great to see Boba Fett "staffing up" his operation, and it was nice to see the two timelines start to connect via the Pyke Syndicate. Plus, the addition of Danny Trejo as the new Rancor's keeper is just awesome :) If I had one complaint, it's that the Mighty Morphin' Speeder Gang's outfits felt out of place on Tatooine. They looked too much like Earth fashion. I get that they're edgy cyberpunk rebel types, but still. The characters themselves are fine, and I am definitely digging Boba's way of rescuing people he sees potential in and giving them a chance to make something better for themselves. I just wish they looked a bit less like people you'd run into in New York City.
I was just telling my friend there was about 75% I loved, but 25% I hated. Mighty Morphin' Speed Gang is so accurate, thought the same but couldn't remember what the Power Rangers were called until I saw your comment! And IMO the chase scene was Power Ranger-level action (i.e, cheesy and bad, even the music during that scene). Maybe I'll feel different on a rewatch.
I didn't really notice their clothes but did feel put off by the vehicles in the chase scene. It felt awkward to me for both the coloring and how they moved.
I feel like the girl is pretty much a female Johnny Silverhand but without the sass or being Keanu
their outfits and the colorful bikes felt very early 80s which I hated, great episode overall though (and that chase scene was a little long)

So I just finished watchng this episode (at work) and nearly jumped out of my chair when Krrsantan opened that Bacta Tank! Jesus! It scared the crap out of me. lol
I like how a 8 ft tall, 400 pound BEAST was able to not only sneak by all of the defenses, but get ALL THE WAY TO Boba before anyone even noticed he was there. I still love this episode in case anyone couldn’t tell lol

Krrsantan is terryfying and I love it. Not the last time we're going to see this dude, hope he joins the army that Boba will need to put together.
The leader of the Pyke is voiced by Stephen Stanton who voiced Alec Guinness version of Ben Kenobi. Stanton also voiced the droid floating in space during the Clone Wars pulling a Alan Rickman performance.
Don't you mean Rebels? I don't remember a droid in Clone Wars floating in space sounding like Alan Rickman, that was in an episode of Rebels and the droid was AP-5, who appeared multiple times throughout the series.

Me, i can't change a already made episode so i just enjoy that it exists and expands the Star Wars universe. Did the gang design suck, sure, but i can look past that and i see what they are, protection and hired help! I'm a glass half full type of guy, maybe try looking at the positives and not focusing on the negatives!! 😁

I'm glad it wasn't just me who thought the biker gang were like Power Rangers on their brightly-coloured bikes. Also, definitely scared me when Krrsantan suddenly grabbed Boba out of his Bacta tank. That was also a major surprise when Danny Trejo appeared. I literally said out loud, "IS THAT DANNY TREJO?!" Finally, as you mentioned it, Ludwig Goransson only does the opening and closing themes. Joseph Shirley does the actual scores in each episode.
Who knew Danny Trejo in Star Wars was something I never thought I would need but glad it here

This show is getting good so far. The story isn't as straightforward as I thought it would be, but I love how the flashbacks are offering this underlying mystery. I can't wait to see how both stories connect.

You mentioned the callback to back to the future, I’d like to note, the noise the speeders make is the same sound effect used for the DeLorean (it was also the same sound for Luke’s speeder in a new hope)
My theory as of right now is that Q’ira actually paid Fennec to keep an eye on Boba Fetts operations, and then when he takes out the Pykes she will arrive and Fennec will turn on him, then Q’ira could own Crimson Dawn, the Pykes, and the Hutts. On top of that the Hutts and everyone else involved keep saying there’s someone bigger at play that could hint to Crimson Dawn instead of actually talking about the Pykes. As crazy as all of that sounds it would be cool if it played out that way.
It had a shout-out to the legends EU when it referenced the witches of dathomir riding the rancors.

Man as long as we keep getting shows of this quality I honestly don't care about any SW movies! Question though: how does a 7 foot Wookie sneak quietly into the master suite undetected? Stephen Root and Danny Trejo were welcome surprises, although I guess we should've expected Trejo with RR involved. And I must have one of those bikes for my collection, but those kids looked like they'd be more at home in the lower levels of Coruscant than Tatooine

And I think that cyber-punk-y part of the score you noted was composed by *Joseph* *Shirley* - Ludwig Göransson only did the main theme.
So glad to see you guys enjoying the episodes as they come 👍 I’m seeing too many specific expectations from fans and then complaints when they don’t come true. This show is just a fun ride. Star Wars is supposed to be a fun ride.

Seriously, I feel like everyone else is missing that this show is basically The Godfather Part 2 meets classic westerns meets the Star Wars universe. A lot of the things I'm seeing people criticize about this show is stuff that's just basic mobster movie tropes being applied in this new way. I'm loving the slow burn pace, the worldbuilding, and what this show is doing for Boba's character. It's different for a Star Wars property, and I think it's a breath of fresh air.
