Thank you! I'm trying again to learn piano two decades after dropping out of traditional lessons which never really clicked. You broke down the lingo and made it make sense, using my left hand made more sense too (my teacher had be find G with my thumb and it never occurred to me to instead find C with my pinkie). After you helped me play Canon in, well, C (lol) I found myself tearing up just feeling something new- capability. Thank you! I had multiple beginner videos pulled up, each in their own tab, and yours is the only one I kept open. So happy to have found your channel! Thank you for teaching me something in 30 minutes that an in-person instructor couldn't after 4 consecutive years!

    BRAVO!!!! Such an EXCELLENT tutorial!
I started learning to play in the Fall of 2017, took a few months of weekly 30-minute private lessons in the Spring of 2018, and did a little I dependent-learning during the summer from my beginner’s piano book.
So, this month, I’m currently taking private weekly 30-minute piano lessons and an 8-week Music Theory group course! Now, I am fascinated with the music theory class and very happy I decided to take a chance.
I find myself spending HOURS😩watching various video on “how to learn how to play the piano, read music and how to play chords.” Some are refreshers videos and some are awesome “crash courses.”👌 All teach me something-from a little new tidbit to “OMG, this video is so AWESOME!” ....Like this one!🌟
I think the best feature of your video is the interactive-graphics in the upper right corner and the alphabet posted above the key!....This is brilliant and very impressive. I suspect this is a reflection of your passion for sharing knowledge.
You are a great teacher with a great sense of humor!
Keep following your passion and keep projecting your positive energy!😃
I am excited for my next Music Theory class, because we just discussed chords & scales--now EVERYTHING “clicks” in my mind! YAY!🌈👍
Tonight, I was suppose to go out for my birthday but ended staying home and found this great video. Now, I no longer feel intimidated or frustrated. I know, with daily practice, I will eventually play with confidence! ....In just 30 minutes, gave me a vast amount of piano-playing knowledge--a great Birthday gift for a ♑️!😉
    Thank you, for sharing!
    I will “👍” and subscribe!
    🙏☮️😇

After 35 + years ... thank you! The chord and chord inversion exercises was a really quick primer and easy to remember! Hauling my upright, passed to me when I started 2nd grade, to my first active duty military base- I realized it was completely impractical. I’ve twinkled over keys that I have passed but after 3 kids and now 2 grandchildren I really felt the need to play basically from the beginning. My husband gave me a beautiful Yamaha Digital Piano for Christmas and with videos like these and practice, I KNOW I’ll be giving lessons to my granddaughter. I think her start might be a bit easier than I remember mine being. Thank you again for this tutorial!

I am an absolute beginner (less than a month), but you inspired me and help to understand there are patterns in a piece of piano. I now try to understand a piece (like the Cannon in C) with a "chord mind" which make it a lot more easier to understand the play the piece. WELL DONE

Not as old as the last guy, I'm a young 62, and for the last 3 months been trying to play an old 61 key plastic keyboard, that's more a toy than a musical instrument. Your video's have helped me so much, in about 2 weeks time I will be buying a new real piano, and look forward to watching more of your video's to help me play it. Keep up the good work, and thank you very much for your help.

Fantastic video as usual! I was very happy to see the beginner fidget and search for the keys demonstration - that's exactly what I look like as a beginner - made me feel better!

Thank you very much! It took me so long to learn in the past what you who taught clearly in half an hour! So clear and a very natural way of communication.
One thing that I find so difficult about TH-cam videos often there's so much shouting and loudness.. like an infomercial type tone which is so hard for me to listen to and gain anything from. Your style of communication is really very professional yet fun and cheerful and helps create a sense of relaxation which is so important for learning.
I'm also so glad that you're out there for everyone that is quarantining right now.
I am very keen to check out your other videos and have already subscribed! Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and empowering people to feel good through connection with music.

Great video! Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. For us beginners, this was challenging enough without being overwhelming. You give us essentials to practice and you explain them so well. At the same time, you are giving us something to practice that sounds good and is not just a boring drill. The keyboard I am forced to practice on is a short(26 white keys) with mid-sized keys. I want to see if I can demonstrate any ability first before buying a better keyboard. If so, I think I would buy the Yamaha P45 which I saw that you have recommended. Thanks again for helping all of us beginners.
