I tried! Didn't get the response

Isn’t this WHOLE step WHOLE step HALF step WHOLE step Whole step WHOLE step HALF step for major scales only.
This is the first teacher iv found on the net who actually instructs in a way an absolute beginner can follow. Thanku!
Agree!
👍👍
Agree. If they're not a full time teacher in real life, they've missed their vocation.
I agree with with this full heartedly.
amen
I played piano for like 8 years growing up and no one explained scales to me like this - I was just told to memorize. Thank you for breaking it down!! It’s making learning again so much easier
this video just leveled me up. all these youtube piano tutorials and no one has ever broken it down like this. the real-time thing is great, thanks man
I second that!! Such a good tutor
Before this video I thought that it's impossible to become a self-taught pianist, but now I convinced of the opposite. Thanks a lot! And hello from Russia! :)
I am very impressed the way you teach. I've been playing for 10 years and self taught but the way I learned isn't the correct way to play. So I basically have to relearn everything. I tried so many virtual teachers and my opinion is that they go very fast and give me no time to think or process what is being taught. But you take your time and explain everything very transparently. You're a big help and please keep doing what your doing! I will be subscribing!
@Shantanu Singh uhhh..what? Lol
@Shantanu Singh well I mean, he's probably considerably better than you.
@Captain Phoenix everyone can be a pianist, but definitely not you.
what u mean isn’t the correct way to play how did u play wrong?
Even after going to a music school, I somehow learned more from your video:)
Thanks a bunch, dude!
Thank you for this fantastic video. I have just, at the age of 67 bought a keyboard and started a life long wish to teach myself to play the piano. This video is very beginner friendly and goes at a nice pace and gives me a taste of what is to come with lots of practice.
How has it gone so far?
Thank you! I’ve watched so many piano tutorials on TH-cam, but never felt like I learned anything until now. You are a great teacher!
I've been trying to get back into piano for years, but always get frustrated because scales seem boring, but having you play in the background just made me fall in love with it anyway. so great
As a player who knows the scales I still watched this video as it’s always possible to learn something new, and I did. Loved the pattern at the end, made the scale sound so interesting. Thank you, as usual.
Thank you for this! I’m a beginner, and I’ve been mostly doing exercises just to get familiarized with the piano and to work on my left hand independence, but I haven’t actually tried “learning” seriously (scales, sight reading, chord progression, music theory in general, etc.). This video is a godsend, and you’re a very good teacher!
I just bought myself a keyboard- I always loved the piano but never played. I came across your videos, and thank you so much! You're very natural and so nice to listen to as well- thank you for helping me!
This is so good, actually exactly what I needed, showing what finger to use for each key makes it such a good practice routine for myself because I know how it’s done “right” and dont learn wrong finger positions
Thank you so much for all you do for the music community, especially those new to it. Like many others, you’ve inspired me so much and you’re so welcoming. This detailed video and the pdf are phenomenal
You're truly a great teacher, I've taught myself everything I know so far but you highlight the importance of having a teacher, someone else that can patiently point out common mistakes and basic techniques, and make practicing less tedious. I can play multiple scales on each hand, but it was watching this video that helped me play with both hands at once. It was confusing at first, but I hope to save time practicing scales now that I can practice with both hands simultaneously 😊. Thanks for this!
Hi Josef, thank you so much for your video tutorials. I am a visual artist and during this pandemic phase, I have been going through this creative blockade. I felt taking up music will channelize my blocked energy but I needed a suitable guide. Your video has helped me a lot in learning piano and keeping depression away at this age.
You had me at “coffee” and kept my attention the entire time. REALLY easy to follow and retain. Thank you so much for doing this! Finally learning piano proper at 30 something!
Love to watch this guy, 2 weeks now and really confident at following his lead.
As a one month beginner n not a native english speaker I love the way you explain things.. you’re a great teacher :)
Thanks! I’ve learned and given up on playing piano so many times over the years (even made this account years ago and gave up once again) because nobody ever taught me the trick to scale patterns. I was just given charts to memorize (this is C, this is G, this is A, etc.)
I felt like a whole new world opened up when you taught the whole step 3 half step 1 pattern. Now I feel like I know the scales!
6:31 is the most useful tips I've encountered since I started watching piano guide on youtube. all this while I was struggling how to locate A key (change position). thanks a lot!
Understanding the difference between whole steps and half steps is fantastic. Thank you.
I have only just watched a couple of minutes of this video and already I love you. Thank you so much for taking the time to help us beginners! I really needed this!! ❤
Bro u are the best piano teacher...I searched and searched but couldn't find a proper online teacher. Then I found your videos. Thanks a lot. U really are amazing teacher🙏🇮🇳
OMG! I'm crying! I've tried to teach myself for so long. U r absolutely going to make it possible for me!💖
THANK YOU! This made my actually confident to continue learning the piano, been stuck for 2 years now, thank you so so so much. ❤️
I just started to learn and found this video. I watched another video on another site and it felt rushed and didn't really explain the cross over and under very well. Thank you for breaking it down so that it's easy to follow and encouraging. I will be watching more for sure!
Thank you for this video. I've been playing music for about 3 years now but just picked up piano, and this helped out a lot.
Thank you so much. I had been fiddling around with the piano for a while, but I never learned any proper technique. This has been just what I needed.
Love this video. I use It every day now as a warm up before getting into other exercises. Thank you for your wonderful lessons
Josef, you're one of the best teachers on the internet, it's so fun to play your "musical" exercises. Never opened the keyboard/piano like this. One thing I might add...might make it easier to know where black sharps/flats are for scales/eventually chords. I leaned that you can use octaves..8 notes 1 through 8 1 is low C, 8 is high C. If we assign numbers to notes for all scales, major scales have all whole steps between notes except 3 and 4, and 7 and 8. MInor scales all whole steps except between 2 and 3, and 5 and 6. They all have this structure, no matter if you play an F major, C minor, or whatever. Pretty cool concept I think. Steps could be called tones/semitones as well. Using the black keys also.
In this way, we can learn the actual make up of scales, rather than memorizing for beginners. Just a thought.
You really are a great teacher. Taking it nice and easy. Especially for older folks like me 😆 who never played before. I play
the flute. Learned that as an adult also. This is so much fun. Thank you
Thank you for the great tutorial, mate. I just bought keyboard today and I've really hit the ground running with your explanations.
I’m not even an *absolute* beginner but he’s still helped so much that I’m starting think I was an absolute beginner
Your tempo, mannerism and patience is amazing.
I will start practicing everyday.
I just loved your lesson and style of teaching! This video did not intimidate me from learning piano, but made me wanna repeat and pause and learn and learn! More power to you and please upload more of these! Thank you!
PERFECT!! I had watched another video on piano (for beginner) and the guy in the vide o tought exactly what you talked about; hand position to keys. But alas! When he did the c scale HE DID NOT FINISH IT! And on the following video started talking about meter! ( like carriage before the horse). And you tought exactly what needed to be done; how to do the scale!! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this! The time and energy you put into it really shows. Love love love the accompaniment you add to make playing the scales over and over again sound beautiful. Feels like I have a teacher right there with me. Great video. Seriously. Thank you!
This is the most amazing thing ever. I'm honestly in tears. Thank you so so so so much.
Thank you, the best teacher so far for beginners slow enough to do and comprehend. The thumb under, and finger over is so helpful! Thank God.
Nice! I was taught this as a kid, long forgotten, I have the same piano in my basement that I just discovered my parents gave me. The mouses made it a home over the years still works...some keys are off, but ya gonna prop your vids up on it and relearn
This guy is the reason im able to play piano with the flow and melodiously..... i wish he should teach how to play guitar ... tgat will too help a lot of people
Thank you. I like the way you use left hand to play the scale and the right hand arpeggio. It is more interesting than to practice in a classic way.
Thank you so much. Glad to have found you. No one break down piano theory and techniques as you do. Really very helpful for beginners with the step by step instructions as we follow along with you.
You are doing the Lord's work! I ordered my keyboard. It's not even here yet and I watched this whole thing. I'm so excited! Favorited this video. 💜
love this channel and your approach to beginning piano- thanks for the content good sir!
Well, thankyou sir. Glad to be of service!
I must say, your beginner lessons are really taking me out of the beginner level quickly.... And the best part, I get a lot of confidence after completing exercises from your videos. I'm totally relying on your videos for my piano learning.... Thanks a lot. Love from India. And yeah, I live in Ujjain, a city near Indore...😊😊
Excellent! I've been to Ujain and Indore. Indore street food was sensational! :)
@@Creativepianoacademy wow, that's awesome. Next time, when you're coming there, I would love to meet you and say thanks in person 😊
I found the pace beginner perfect as well. It's clear you are skilled and love music. Inspiring!
This was fun as hell to do, loved playing the scales while you played in the background. Thanks for a great lesson and your hard work!
Just started today. Thanks. I'll keep practicing.
I love to watch your videos and how you enjoy really shows your love towards music. You play very well and you are an amazing teacher too. Thanks for your videos.

I watch these while at work so I go home motivated to play!!! Just got my first 88key keyboard a month ago....never played, can't read music...
your videos have helped tremendously, I still can't play much....but just being able to play a "chord" was something I couldn't do a month ago....(or even knew what the heck a chord even was.....lol)
Thank you for the time you've taken to create these videos!!
I have been watching video after video and he has helped me make sense of how to maneuver my hands, so that I could reach certain keys, when they came up in tutorials.
I am SO glad I found this video
Amazing to hear Jillian.
Thank you so much. This is the first video I've watched since I purchased my piano and I found it very informative and enjoyable. A great first step for me. Thank you so much. Look forward to more

Okay the applause and confetti after successfully playing the G Major chord was a very nice touch, it really made me feel like I'd accomplished it!
Thank you for this video. The knowledge and patience shows this person has done this for some time possibly. Regardless, I really hope this is the start of a creative outlet for myself.
This was a very nice start for me and my new keyboard. I’m so excited to learn more 😊
This was so helpful, got my piano 4 years ago and tried to skip this and go straight to songs... dumb... this is so much better:)
Thanks Josef. Working through your practices, I can feel myself getting somewhere :)
THANK YOU JOSEF I LOVE THE WAY YOU TEACH I AM LEARNING AND EXITED
Thank you for teaching us how to play these scales. And for showing that all follow the same formula. Thanks very much teacher.
I just found this video, it is incredibly helpful and your teaching style is fantastic! Thank you!
Wow, thank you so much, you're a real teacher at heart you explain it so well all the other teachers confuse me so much
Thank you for starting with the basic of basics!!! You are great. My first lesson complete. :)
Thankyou for this beautiful tutorial, its unique and one of a kind which I came across on TH-cam. Very helpful for a adult learner like myself. Perfecting major scales, with chords played by yourself in the background is fantastic and motivating👍
Yes, that was so pretty and made me feel like I will be able to play with others.
Best intro I've seen. I may actually follow through with this. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for sharing knowledge ❤️🙏🏻

Amazing lesson. Thanks so much
Excellent! I have learnt lots from this video. Thank you

Thank you so much! I started playing the piano this year in March on my 62nd birthday! Unfortunately, I broke my wrist in July and had to have a plate and seven screws put in it. However, I'm starting to play again! I'm almost finished with my first book, Faber's Adult Adventures. What book would you recommend next for me. Again, thank you for being here for us!
thank you so much for this! Have also downloaded your pdf. Will keep my eyes open on your content! Much appreciated
This is one of the first lessons for Very good instruction. TY
