  • Hi Friends, in this video you will follow along with me to my post-surgical follow up appointments as well as learn my pathology results from surgery.
I hope this video (and all of my videos) helped you in some way on your journey. I truly appreciate all of your comments and reading your breast cancer survivor stories, experiences and tips. I am so grateful for YOU!
If you are sharing my TH-cam videos - THANK YOU!! My goal is to spread awareness and help others through my journey as much as I can. Cancer is silent, sneaky and scary. When I found out that I had stage 2 breast cancer, invasive ductal carcinoma, the first thing I did was go on TH-cam and search what to expect & what am I going to look like on chemo, how am I even going to survive this treatment plan, etc…so I truly hope that my journey helps someone who feels scared, lost, or has “fear of the unknown”, whatever they’re looking for to find inner peace, I hope they can find it through me and my journey. We are all in this together, we are family, we are fighters and we will WIN this battle together! 🙏🏻💕😊
    I Love You All,
    Bri

Hi Bri, Lucy here, a stage 4 pancreatic cancer survivor with a vlog called "She Dares Live". TH-cam just sent me your video, and while I know your news must be hitting you hard (lymph node involvement and oral chemo), I wanted to reach out and say you absolutely can do this, so don’t give up. Having a positive mindset is crucial, and there's so much strength you'll find within yourself. There will be tough days, but there's also a whole community of survivors behind you. Feel free to reach out if you ever want to chat - sometimes talking can be a huge help. Sending you big hugs and all the positive vibes for this next chapter. You can do this! Lots of love, Lucy

Hi Bri! I found my tumor the same way. Took off my underwire bra and noticed a small lump along with a bruise right where u clasped the bra in the front. I thought my bra was too small and the wire was poking into my chest. Didn’t think a whole lot about it. I work in the surgical floor at the hospital and we had many breast surgeries the next day. So, I asked the surgeon what she thought and she immediately was concerned. If not for that I would have totally ignored it. Ended up being TNBC and the journey began. My tumor also did not respond 100 percent to the chemo so I did 6 months on the chemo pill and radiation. That was 2 yrs ago and I’m now NED. All this to say I know how scared you r but I promise you will get through it and be on the other side! Sending all my love! 💪🏻🩷 Karen

Most people apparently get permanent tattoos, but I have a pink sister friend who only had marker dots. I have some permanent tattoos that are the size of pin dots. They're very small, but still visible, going on 9 years out from radiation.

This must be such a shock and disappointment for you. Nobody deserves cancer, but you've shown such resilience, bravery, and cheerfulness to your many followers. You really help us as it's so hard to muster that alone. Your doctors are being very thorough, which is a benefit. They've realised that the affected auxillary has different properties. That is really important to know so they can target it properly with a different drug. I so hope they eradicate it for you. You inspire your followers, now it's our turn to send love and hope and cheer you on. It looked like the hard work of chemotherapy was done : if anyone can carry on with further weeks of chemotherapy, it's you Brie!

They told me I can either stop it or have a lower dose. I chose the first option. But still on tamoxifen. It's a personal choice I made tho. All scans were clear tho! So there's hope! Hi Bri, this video was my first with you and I also teared 😢up….please, never apologize for crying. It’s great to let your emotions flow. You have been through a difficult time and remaining optimistic, only to receive more sadness. I’m preparing for right breast mastectomy (May 14th) along with lymph node removal. My lumpectomy in October 2020, was followed by chemotherapy, however, I became hospitalized after my fourth round. My oncologist was not listening to my concerns about my quick decline after the second round. Yet, I persisted only to find strength to continue,,,and ended up in the ER with a severe abdominal infection, required blood transfusions and five days in hospital. I am soured (and traumatized) regarding chemo, and declined radiation and potential treatments going forward. This is why I am having mastectomy / lymph nodes completely removed. The radiation treatments are not going to be entertained as the long term effects are discouraging for me. I developed neuropathy (mainly in my feet) and radiation has been noted for nerve damage. I choose quality of life over quantity of a wheelchair is my option. Thank you for sharing and I will be praying for you as I continue to look for your thoughts and future videos ❤

Bri I am so sorry about your pathology results, I can totally understand how you feel and how scary it is, first I was diagnosed with a Melanoma on my face and we had to see if it spread....and six months later it did...I still have 8 treatments left of immunotherapy and a horrible neck dissection. Meanwhile, my oncologist was shocked that I hadn't had a mamo yet and I'm 49, they saw something and were waiting and watching it for six months, now they determined it needed to come out and I have to start my chemo journey for breast cancer. Your videos have helped me calm down tremendously. The breast cancer is stage 1 so far but the Melanoma is stage 3, so I understand your anxiety and fears. I thought by my birthday I was going to be done with treatment, but now that the breast cancer is HER2 positive, I have another year of treatment ahead of me. It was such a let down. I pray for your full recovery as well as mine. Stay Well

We’re with you as you navigate the path of the pathology results. Joyful that the cancerous lymph nodes are OUT of your body! I had radiation after mastectomy due to one positive node. No chemo needed (low enough Oncotype score and HER 2 neg). I try to think of the radiation and now the endocrine therapy (year 2 of Anastrazole) as my double insurance policies. Thankful you are at a top cancer center. Best wishes for some rest as you get ready for your next appointments. My docs know that I always come in with a list of questions. It was not that bad. It’s not like IV chemo, in terms of side effects and there is an on line support group that I learned so much from. I found mine painful and was thankful when the surgeon removed it on day 4 post-op. I had chemoradiation just before Christmas for 6 weeks. Bri, I’m sorry you got a bit of bad news. You’re a strong woman. Sometimes, in life, hardships and trauma and heartaches arise…and we either cope with them as best as we’re able….or we get very frustrated, depressed and afraid. Been there, don’t that. I’ll be 76 old next month. Only child, single mom…..no child support or any help. Worked hard. Ex was mentally ill…did drugs..after his dad passed. I already had my 2 baby girls. I lost my dad at 16 yrs old. So suddenly…traumatic. My mom became suicidal. I went to school and cared for her. Skipped college and worked full time not far from my home. Long story. Took about 2 yrs for my mom to somewhat begin to function. Ex harassed me constantly. I think stress and heartache took a toll on my health. I have so many auto immune issues. My mom passed 25 yrs ago from heart issues. My dad too. And I’m still here. Alone. Never remarried. Still caring and trying to help others when I’m financially, emotionally and physically drained (another long story). 13 yrs ago I lost my youngest daughter to heart issues; she was 36 yrs old…another traumatic event. My son in law had always been a taker..never helping me..or giving. I paid for everything after my daughter passed and for beautiful urns and cremation and the beautiful memorial service. I wanted all of us to celebrate her life. She was a great mom and worked as a vet tech for many years. She was my baby girl. She had 5 children. Son in law fell apart…so I cared for and pretty much raised all my 5 grandchildren. Son in law always needed money from me….but I had the grandkids.
Grandkids all grown up now…relocated..some with families of their own, but it was soooooo tough, for them, for my older daughter, and for me to keep going. My older daughter is a teacher…never had any of her own. I have 3 great grand children now…but have seen them 3/4 times. They don’t live near me.
I have so many health issues..I can’t recall half of them…we could go thru whole alphabet…I bet I have it. I truly feel stress and trauma take a toll on our health issues (body and mind).
I can’t drive anymore. Passed out a few times but drs don’t know why. Went to hospital er 4 times the past 2 yrs…always something …medical bills still being paid off. Drs never even went over results last time. Neuropathy, anemia, glucose issues, thyroid issues, scoliosis, severe spinal stenosis, always bruising myself. If it weren’t for my two adopted stray cats I took in, I’d prob stay in bed all day sleeping. Also have been feeding 11 feral cats (all tnrd) for past 12 years. I’m an empath and a born caregiver….but I’m truly so tired.
I wish I could hug you. We’re all visiting here, and you’re absolutely right about feeling gratitude. Many people, I feel don’t think of all the little things which bring/brought them joy, peace….and somehow gave them a reason to keep going. In my case, when I was grieving or upset..there were others who needed me to care for them. Being strong for others isn’t always the right thing to do. I know this now. I never remarried. Son in law has great job now….and never paid me back the almost $250,000 I spent to help raise his children. He doesn’t even talk to me. My dental work and cataract surgery and bills will have to wait. Doing the best I’m able to do.
All my family (grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts, cousins) passed very young from heart issues. I don’t get why I’m still here…but I am. Some moments I feel like just giving up…really. But who will care for the cats? And I know my oldest daughter loves me dearly. Grandkids too…they’re just all busy, living their lives, struggling … like we all are.
You’ve got some great positive energy. You’re kind…and you’re funny and beautiful…and you’ve got your mom and your daughter. And your fur baby.
You got this. Just breathe..slow deep breaths…and keep feeling positive. You have a beautiful smile. You’re loved. Feel that positive glow radiating through your mind and body.
My favorite quote is this one: Our greatest fault lies in not never falling, but in rising up every time we fall.
Praying for you. Sending healing, loving energy out to you ….. and all beings. 🫶💫💫✨🌟🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️

Different muscles are used to lift, which includes certain spots on your body to join in, which in your case is your chest, and that motion can rip your stitches!❤

I've had a brochocopy then 3 weeks later had a robot surgery for removal of a nodule removed and several other biopsies, on my left lung. Not pleasant!! Got Afib as they moves me from icu to a room. Then month later a skin cancer showed up on the back of my knee then had to have a gyn surgery on my vagina, (urethra, ) have already had 2 surgeries on that same area. Then just had a removal on my left arm to remove another cancer. Does it ever end???? It's all been Squamish cell carcenoma!!!

25:45 I had some scar tissue that when I first found it freaked me out as I thought my cancer had returned, but it felt hard and lumpy. I’ve been on anastrozole seven years and I have had no problems from it. longer the better to be on it if it doesn’t make you have side effects too much.

Consider it this way, a vacuum cleaner is more then 5 pounds and it’s way more fun to drive then vacuum…. I think actually it’s how the muscles are pulled and the pressure lifting rather than pulling excerts
