I wish I saw this video earlier, I followed by one of the person ask me if I need a cab. Turns out I spent 200 dollars. Also, if the taxi’s license is not start with “T” do not get on to the taxi.
Learned my lesson with the sketchy drivers a few days ago. Got charged $144 from the airport to east village. My jaw dropped and kinda ruined my first night in nyc. Thank you for this video.
1st time going to N.Y to see Xmas lights.Do you think it will be real expensive to take a cab from Laguardia to hotel on 45th Street by Times Square on a Sunday afternoon? Thanks !!!!
I have used the LGA to Midtown on the subway that you had posted about. My luggage strap broke enroute and it made the journey quite difficult. But $2.75 is still a deal.
Almost got into the car of those scammers. Very scary experience. A old guy with a notebook (looking very nice and professional) asked if we need a taxi. We said yes, so he took us all the way inside a parking place. I suspected by the long way until the car, where another young guy was waiting in a black car (not yellow like I was expecting). We did not enter in the car since I said that my cousin was there to give us a ride and profit to run away! Next time instead of asking "are you here for business or pleasure?", please tell people to wait in line for the yellow taxis!
Hello Rob, I watched your video and seems pretty simple. I have an upcoming trip thru New York. I am flying into Laguardia and need to get to JFK (terminal 4). What is the easiest way?
Can you make a video showing where the bus shuttles are to get from LA Guardia Airport to LaGuardia hotel like before December 8 because I'm going their on December 8 and it's my first time
Your videos are well done. Were we see to surrounding, the locations and your explanations is like a instruction manual. Useful, for first time traveller to NY.
Question... I'll be going to NYC for the first time in Sept. I've never been in a subway. Is there away to take a subway from LaGuardia airport to Washington Heights, 5th Ave & 173rd Ave?
Yes! You should watch my other video on how to take the bus/subway to Times Square from Laguardia. You can do something similar to Washington Heights, but you'd take the M60 bus and get off at the subway line that serves the stop you want. th-cam.com/video/U77L8hTNF58/w-d-xo.html
@@AustinBraydenShow Duh, they are not part of the taxi drivers association and they will charge you whatever the Hell they want. $150 $200 for a normally regulated $50 fare. You do you. But what are you going to do at the end of the trip? Refuse to pay and get beat up or your suitcase thrown out on the highway???
Can you make a Video how we can get from airports -> to “hotel that have subway right in front “ that way everything would be a lot easier ---> to SOHO !! since time square is too busy with people “
I have another video where I take the subway from Laguardia airport to Times Square, but you can get to Soho by staying on the R and getting off at Prince Street or taking the E to Spring St: th-cam.com/video/U77L8hTNF58/w-d-xo.html
When Dispatchers asks where you are going, do you give him the address to your hotel or just say "Times Square"? I wasn't sure how much detail to give the Dispatcher.
Good question. For the dispatcher, you can just tell him the neighborhood like "Times Square". He's just asking because the taxi driver will get a special receipt to come back skip the taxi line if you're not going far. The cab driver will need to know the actual address and/or cross streets.

I made this video because what happened to you isn't uncommon. At least you got there safely!
I'll keep that in mind Xiao, thanks for letting us know about that "T" requirement.

Hi Rob,
At 0:27, why shouldn’t you run into these guys that ask you for taxis?

Also, how do you get ripped off when doing so?

I will reach JFK by 7 pm and I'm traveling alone. Will it be safe to take a taxi to Manhattan?
I will take exactly the same route here. Could you kindly advice me about how you successfully manage to get there. Thanks
All the taxis are set up to take cash or card?
Both
