I love the idea of Windows 11 on a phone. I own a Surface Duo 2 and there is a developer doing it right now for the Duo 2. I agree that MS should have just done this earlier. Hey ... if the developer community proves it works and people like it, then a phone shell, like say 'Windows Launcher' for Windows, this could really be where future phones are headed. Love it!

I used Windows phones, people irrationally disliked them. They were really really good! Android nowadays is an unbearable platform, with every manufacturer locking their bootloader, killing their dev communities and shoveling a terrible bloated skin into their rom. The only one that modified Android itself was Huawei, and that’s Chinese spyware! Pixels are alright I guess, and the NothingOS looks promising as a feature-packing unbloated Android.

They did better than this for their smartphones. Lumia phones were way ahead of their time and Competition in both hardware and software.
Only fault was the locked source code. Meaning you couldn't install apps outside their app store and a lot of services/apps were unavailable. Basically a 3rd party developer couldn't contribute to their system. And thats where android f***ed them

With the current trend of Microsoft collecting more and more data and with people being more privacy concious, also with large TH-camrs like Linus from LTT trying out Linux, the arrival of the Steam Deck, Linux usage in personal use is increasing. It will take years and maybe even decades before it solidifies the top throne but it is getting there. Might be interesting to see what the open source community can come up with in regards to a shell to replace the default explorer when using it as a phone, but enable the regular desktop when it is plugged into a secondary display such as a monitor. There's a Mac-like shell called Cairo which replaces the default Windows shell, for example.
Also the reason for Snapdragon 845 Compatibility is because that is the chip that was used in the Lumia 950XL.

The commentary within the video is so spot-on and very well articulated. I agree with every single thing he said. I'll tell you this, man.....if STEAM gaming were to function on the phone as it fully functions on a Windows laptop, despite Valve having the Steam "Deck", then a Windows 11 phone (on a high-powered modern phone) would absolutely kill the phone market (or maybe close to it). Steam is what I'm after and the Steam Deck is not what I'm lookin' for. A Windows 11 OS that can be slapped on to any Android-device that just so happens to be modern and high-powered, that's awesome. Imagine rooting a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and then hooking that up to an external monitor, dope. Although, a 14.6-inch tab is good enough for me to game on anyway without needing to hook up to an external monitor.
This was a great video. I am a new Subscriber, as I discovered Beebom recently when I looked up for articles on sideloading Android apps on my newest Chromebook and also activating Linux on it. Both separate articles came from Beebom.
