    That's why I like Creek Fishing Adventures - John keeps it real! lot of TH-camrs wouldn't include the first mile of fishing - the lack of fish and rough terrain - but John keeps it real! That's the way fishing is. The tough days make you appreciate the good, productive ones. Your perseverance paid off - in the end catching several nice ones. Thanks for sharing and God bless!

    "I should have turned back long ago, but I cant." 🤣
    Dude, I know the feeling. That was like watching myself explore (struggle) through practically every overgrown trout stream here in SE Wisconsin.
    Glad you pushed through it though. Sometimes we need those tough days to better appreciate the good ones!

    For me its always hard to stop, turn around and go back when going through a creek or river. Always want to see what's around the next bend or even better maybe there's a honey hole around the next bend.

      😆 I feel ya buddy I've done the same exact thing for 20 or more years. I'm always telling myself well I'll just walk around this next bend then I'll go back then 3 hours and 3 miles later I make that long walk back thru the woods and fields that always turns out to be all growed up briar fields 😆 🤣

    You definitely go the extra mile to catch fish. That's why I enjoy your channel. At my age, I probably wouldn't venture through all of that, but I enjoy watching others do it. I'm stuck in central Ga for 2 more years and then I will be back in Tenn to fully retire. I'm buying a nice kayak and enjoy the fishing. I'll be in middle Tenn so I will have lots of options. Keep up the great work John.

    Holey moley! That is an obstacle course and a half. I was not expecting to see you going tree-climbing, John. Lol! So many downed trees. Must have been a tornado or two in that area at some point. I'd be scared of snakes climbing in all those branches in the water after that one trip where you saw 4 of them in that one tree. At least the water still looks mostly nice and clear. You found where the fish are, though! Great job, man! As always, I enjoyed watching!

    Last Wednesday evening after work I decided to fish a creek I've been near every day for at least 55 years of my 56 I've been alive. I've always wondered if it held fish. An hour later, 20 fish landed! I had to go micro-light to get them, 1lb mono, 1/80oz Mule jigs and 1.2" Mule minnows. The reel was a vintage Daiwa 500c on a Okuma Celia 5.5' rod. Mostly just diinker rock bass(we call them Redeye Bass up here in the Blue Ridge Mountains) and some hand sized gills
    A tight line is a tight line! I've been smiling ever since! This creek is walking distance from my house 😊

    Oftentimes the paths least traveled lead to the best fishing spots. I've been to a lot of spots that looked really good but were overfished. Unless stocked regularly, common fishing locations get fished out. Congrats on staying the course and finding the fish!

    Jim Dandy of an adventure. Patience and perseverance, Some times the bite is off and it’s frustrating, and people give up. The best, like yourself, work through it, figure it out and have their effort rewarded. Myself, I think there was a strong storm that rearranged the habitat and jinxed the fish.

  • @jeremyowen1

    Crazy how dynamic creeks and rivers are. This is the first year I've actively waded and fished the local river and this fall I learned first hand how fast those fish can move.
    Found a new stretch with tons of grass in an otherwise rocky/sandy river. First two days I had 20 fish days and caught two PB 3lbs smallies. Went back two days later and got skunked twice in the same spots. Judging by the amount of grass coming up and presumably decomposing, I'd guess I caught those fish as they were on their way out.
    Was a pretty big hit to my confidence though not gonna lie. Worst part is not being completely sure what the cause was. Maybe some days you just don't find active fish. All part of the learning curve I suppose.

    • @rynekhan8165
      @rynekhan8165 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @rynekhan8165 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeremyowen1 the fish are always able to tell you where they are if you listen well enough , right now big ones will be close to deep water along the steeper drops , that’s your best bet with the colder weather coming thru. The fish leave the moment vegetation starts to die .
