In the mountain wilderness exploring, finding beautiful water and fish. Thank you John for sharing this adventure. I’m old and can’t walk, and you’re a kind and gentle sportsman. 🐠
Your enthusiasm for every fish, big or small, is what keeps bringing me back! If I ever stop getting excited about every bite, I'll find something else to do! Keep up the great work, and stay safe!
LOVED THIS VIDEO, Ive spent so much time in creeks like this. Deep holes, I'd use a small jig with craw trailer. I love smallmouth fishing!! Spent my whole life doing it. I'm near 70 so...
Props on pumping out such a consistent stream of enjoyable videos. I'm personally still trying to catch up on all your past ones, but loving them all. 👍
I don't mind working for a good fishing spot. Something about it makes you feel good. I don't know if it's the absence of civilization or just admiring God's work. But, it is totally worth it! Good work!
Starting from the fact that I like all the content you make, this is really the kind of video I prefer to be honest . I would prefer more videos like this rather than tournaments for example ( even they are fun and you caught beautiful fish ). Just my opinion John , keep pounding and being inspirational to many :)
Ohh my goodness!! How elated I would be if I caught what you did just in the first few minutes 😅. Really love and look forward to seeing your content!! Extremely motivates me. Going out tomorrow morning. Thanks!;! God Bless ❤️
John, This was a great one, it really has me missing Randolph County WV, I used to live there, it is beautiful, and there is some great fishing there too! Thanks for sharing your journey, what a beautiful bounty God created!!!!
If you're vehicle camping and want to keep the bugs out go get some screen and magnets from the hardware store. Bam! Screen window covering for your car. Be sure to put some fabric between the screen and your car so you don't scratch it 😉
Hey John, in a creek the size that you were in towards the end of the video, (27:30 mark) I'd love to see a video with a Whopper Plopper Size 60 (smaller version of the 75) as I find the smaller size does a better job in smaller streams/bodies of water. That would be a fun video if you're willing to try the smaller size 60. (Ebay has them & I did see size 60 @ Dicks Sporting Goods but not at Bass Pro Shop) Anyway, just an idea for something different as I know it's hard to pass up a size 90 or the size of the Choppo that you were using in this video. Keep the great videos coming as they sure hold us over until we can go fishing!!!
I just love the way you handle that spinning rod. You do things with it that I try with mine and fail miserably. Like when you flip it. I try to do that and usually end up throwing it nearly straight up.
John, thank you for such an amazing video you caught lots of fish had lots of fun. I did not want FUN to stop. I do enjoy your longer videos. Thanks for sharing again
Nice of the rail guys to pick you up. Here they don’t want you near the tracks. It’s a shame because they have service roads right next to a lot of them that would be good for travel but you can get in trouble for being there. Do you let the hellgrammite go all the way to the bottom and the it sit a minute before you reel it in? What about the yum dinger? We have a lot of weeds here.
John, I've found that if you are using a bait like a whopper Plopper and they follow but don't commit, switch to a mid size pop- r. The slower action sometimes gets em'
This was a very cool video between the 2 to make one Great video...John it's so Beautiful out there the mountains the river so peaceful....Great job...
Way to go John, yes, camping and longer works too... all of your films are great, no matter the time on them, really enjoyed this one and seeing the area and you camping and fishing this little known stream. Wishing you continued success and countless good times catching fish and showing us the landscapes.... all the best...God Bless you my friend...~D~
Great video as always! We used to sling our second rod over the shoulder like a rifle. Just use the line like a sling between the reel and the first eye!
You have a gift for making me feel I am right there with you sharing in the fishing. It sounds like you had a great time. Thanks for sharing it with us! And dude, you really like mustard.
Isn't the Lord's timing great. some days his timing just blows you away. You get to fish, have fun adventures, testify in your faith, and reach out to people. Just a fisher of men. Keep up the ministry. God is good. Thanks John for another entertaining video.
I loved wading flat shoals on the flint river catching shoal bass like that as a kid. Just Wade fished for trout when I lived in Blairsville. Bet you could load up on smallies on the Toccoa river above Blue ridge and the river below Notley dam, I never tried to catch anything but trout.
Yes! I like the longer videos where you talk about/explain what you are doing and why. I've been following you now for over two years and have never been disappointed. God bless you.
For such an out of the way location, that was a very good day of fishing. I might suggest carrying a small amount of fire wood with you, just incase of any future adventures out of the way.
Hmmm...maybe a weightless 4" Roboworm on a sz 1 EWG. They'll float and move with the current then give it a pop to break the water surface tension and the bait will fall into the deeper water.
Dude, awesome ride back on the rail truck. I can relate, just around one more bend, just one more pool. I live in WV, great smallmouth fishing here. Sometimes I will fish till I drop. Keep the great content coming. I have learned so much from the videos.
So it's the next time John and you did it caught fish Great area and you worked hard but it paid off great video , gorgeous places that you go to thanks.
I love, love, love those hellgramite baits. I was down on the Brazos river below Possom Kingdom Dam in Texas last week and caught a bass that was around 5 pounds on one. Great baits especially on these rocky bottom rivers and creeks.
I certainly appreciate the longer exploration videos. This adds another twist to your string of adventures John. And what a difference a day makes. You found fish and some nice ones. Glad you safely navigated bear country and put this out to us. Blessings brother. I'm headed out early to wade the creek for smallies. I opted for the Bass Pro Microlite spinning rod in 6'6 ML 2 piece so I can travel. Perfect for a 5'7 guy like me
You are like me. "Darn what is just around that bend up there". Grab my phone and bring up maps on where I am walking and it's like, dadgunn, if I keep going I can hit this spot and then this spot. Man it seems to never end.
Awsome content 👌 👏 I miss small mouth. My pb is 4.2 lbs.and I live in Okeechobee nowadays. So I go for peacock bass, and florida strain large mouth bass. But my local favorite fishing is taylor creek, and Platts bluff off Kissimmee river. Cought snake head, talapia, gar fish,Mayan chicklids, blugill, large mouth bass, Oscar's. And I just ordered some helgramite and tadpoles from Nikko 👍
John you need the kastking backpack that you can carry an extra rod in. I use mine a lot for that especially on big rivers and creeks that my rod won’t get in the trees. It’s great for cumberland river in my area
The isolation was the best part about this.
Isolation and fishing are the best!
I need to find a place jus like this away from people and roads to fish in peace
In the mountain wilderness exploring, finding beautiful water and fish. Thank you John for sharing this adventure. I’m old and can’t walk, and you’re a kind and gentle sportsman. 🐠
I totally agree with you
Fished these waters fifty years ago drifting and hiking for ginseng plants. Mr. John you are taking us home.
Your enthusiasm for every fish, big or small, is what keeps bringing me back! If I ever stop getting excited about every bite, I'll find something else to do! Keep up the great work, and stay safe!

He encouraged me to walk in the water to find the fish and man was I happy when I did
What a great little adventure and good fishing. Those are the trips that cleans your soul. Best wishes my friend!
very star trek
Going out for crappies tomorrow..
John, This was a great one, it really has me missing Randolph County WV, I used to live there, it is beautiful, and there is some great fishing there too! Thanks for sharing your journey, what a beautiful bounty God created!!!!
Live in Morgan county, WV.
It's good smallies here
If you're vehicle camping and want to keep the bugs out go get some screen and magnets from the hardware store. Bam! Screen window covering for your car. Be sure to put some fabric between the screen and your car so you don't scratch it 😉
This is the type of fishing a lot of us would love to do. Disappear into the woods and just enjoy. Great video would love more like this
Again a beautiful stretch of small stream. Heaven!
Thanks for taking us along. Superb content. 💯
Starting @ 28:59 , nice shot walking on the train track 👍🏼 , looks like it goes the right side

29:10. Southern hospitality. Looks like those guys had some Skoal or Copenhagen. Made me want some dip lol!
John, thank you for such an amazing video you caught lots of fish had lots of fun. I did not want FUN to stop. I do enjoy your longer videos. Thanks for sharing again
With those views! The fish are just a bonus! ONE OF YOUR BEST 👌

This was a very cool video between the 2 to make one Great video...John it's so Beautiful out there the mountains the river so peaceful....Great job...
I normally don’t like real long video but this was great. Didn’t seem that long. Good job and good video. Thanks John.
I really enjoy the exploration and secluded fishing holes a lot. You just never know what you'll find, see and catch!
Way to go John, yes, camping and longer works too... all of your films are great, no matter the time on them, really enjoyed this one and seeing the area and you camping and fishing this little known stream. Good day today ! Beautiful scenery a bonus..
Nice bass and such a beautiful area up there. Thank you for sharing and God bless you and your family.....🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀
That first spot you came too was the perfect place to set up a tent.
Beautiful scenery, great water and the fishing. Glad you did this one. And who would have guessed a truck on the tracks to cut that walk short!
Yes I enjoy these long videos, exploring new areas that most fish there have never seen a lure which makes for a good time of catching!👍
Isn't the Lord's timing great. some days his timing just blows you away. You get to fish, have fun adventures, testify in your faith, and reach out to people. Just a fisher of men. Keep up the ministry. God is good. Thanks John for another entertaining video.
John you always produce fantastic footage in every video. Keep up the hard work brother

What an awesome trip! I love getting out and exploring areas like that.
Everytime I watch one of your videos. I'm like, I've got to go fishing....best fishing channel on You Tube. God, has blessed you abundantly brother.

Enjoyed this . Exploring without being on display . There's a serenity in that .
Just be happy doing your thing. I'm happy to come along on your fishing journey. Be well and God bless.

Great day out on the river. Congrats John. Thanks!
For such an out of the way location, that was a very good day of fishing.
I might suggest carrying a small amount of fire wood with you, just incase of any future adventures out of the way.
Awesome area! After all that hiking and wading, that truck ride was helpful.
Hmmm...maybe a weightless 4" Roboworm on a sz 1 EWG. They'll float and move with the current then give it a pop to break the water surface tension and the bait will fall into the deeper water.
I’ve fished that spot many times. Can’t go wrong with fishing mcfarland. Love the content. Especially fishing in my home county
Dude, awesome ride back on the rail truck.
I can relate, just around one more bend, just one more pool.
I live in WV, great smallmouth fishing here. Sometimes I will fish till I drop.
Keep the great content coming. I have learned so much from the videos.
That Nikko Hellgrammite catches more fish than anything for me all the time. Such and awesome bait.
Another fantastic video. Awesome place. How cool to get a ride with the TH-cam watching railroad service man.
I definitely like the videos of you fishing way out in the woods like that John. Untouched nature is the best. Keep up the good work. Love your videos

Another great video John!!! Come down to South Carolina and let me talk you up my favorite creek... We can get on some nice size Spots
This was so calming after a day full of frustration! I'll be out in my kayak Sunday!!
I've got a tent that fits my truck . Cabelas has them for around 250ish.

Every time I’m dropping the Browns off at the Super Bowl you drop a banger of a video and for that I thank you. Perfect Timing 😂
You are like me. "Darn what is just around that bend up there". Grab my phone and bring up maps on where I am walking and it's like, dadgunn, if I keep going I can hit this spot and then this spot. Man it seems to never end.
Hey Jon , maybe you could get a tall cap to keep you more secure when you camp out. You might like that ,so
I watch all your vids here in Knoxville. I like these types the best. Love the adventure. Hate those by road’s hearing the traffic
Can always count on John to put in the work. Nice job bud!!!
This looks like an awesome place to fish and a great adventure! Great video man.
What an amazing place! Love it. One of these days I hope to get out further than my normal radius and find some great places like this.
I like the more isolated locations, you're a lucky man.
This video was great!! Wonderful adventure!
Beautiful country!

Epic video. Thanks John.
I love that you explore remote areas its simply irresistible!PS youll run into a big bassquatch there!
Love the longer videos and more out of the way places. Spend a little time on fire building 😉
Nice creek! 😎👍
John you need the kastking backpack that you can carry an extra rod in. I use mine a lot for that especially on big rivers and creeks that my rod won’t get in the trees. It’s great for cumberland river in my area
it still gets in the way when i carry it, all the tree branches, but might be worth taking to big areas like this
