They are developing a 3ware chip in a phone running android 6.0 (not out). The chip can only work on Motorola unless Samsung, LG, and htc keeps the default os. Android 6 is not allowed to be modified so if those brands keep it up then they will fall behind with technology like Apple.

One mistake you made with the PC comparison is that most people users don't buy PCs. They build, repair and upgrade their existing ones( except laptops). Only a minority buy pre-made computers. So you can't really compare the numbers of PCs bought and phone bought, especially when you replace your phone after 2-3 years.

Lately with the clients Ive been working with the shift has been to cheap ass all in ones for those doing basic web and email etc since you can get a cheap lenovo for $350 vs $450+ for a tower and get 3 yrs warranty. Once the warranty expires at that price just turf it if it blows.
With these prices its not worth most mucking with custom builds. I custom build my stuff to suite me but im a HEAVY user with vms, video transcoding etc.
I could make statistics that show more people walk to work then drive, if I counted those who had to walk from the parking lot as walkers. In this i mean, overlapping statistics are not being considered. Smart phones are more accessible, but that does not mean they replace pc's. They don't, they compliment pc's. There are a lot of people in this world too poor for a pc, but can afford a smart phone, and nearly everyone with a pc ALSO has a smart phone. So of course they have more sells...
Phones are practical to get in touch and connect, but not for production purposes, You need a pc big screen to code a smartphone app, to design a digital graphic, and pc is better for games just because of the battery can handle longer than phone, a GeForce pc can empty a phone battery in minutes.

Mounir Drioua Yep, no matter how powerful smartphones get a PC will always be more powerful. Think about it, size limits the power of a smartphone whereas a PC - the tower is constant in size and never changes however you can fit so much more inside a PC. PC's will be around for a very very very long time, unless a breakthrough is made that renders size an irrelevant factor in computing power
michealang1 imagine phones will be able to have pc performance and longer battery and stabilize temperature, great right ? but still u need to connect it with a screen, a big one, maybe phone will project a virtual 3d screen and a virtual keyboard on your desk, ..... well as i know batteries progress really really slow, u need to fill it with uranium to have such a power and duration

Example: The worlds tech knowledge increases rapidly. A desktop pc is the size of a sand grain, and it's not physically possible to make atoms smaller. A pc can't possible get smaller, nor can a phone. PC power = phone.
I really like the work you put into these videos. I was searching for vids on youtube that kinda feels like watching discovery channel, but mainly for technology and im so lucky to have stumbled upon this. Keep it up bruh. And I really do think that mobile gaming is the future of the gaming industry, it just needs a bit more development.

I agree, Valve should port all of their games to Android. We already have Half-Life 2 and Portal on there, so that should be no problem at all.
But I'm guessing sooner or later we'll be able to play all PC games on Android.
If you have those games on your PC with an Nvidia GPU,you can use Gamestream on Nvidia Shield Tablet or Portable

yet smartphones are weak, I cant use them for power use like CGI, 3D rendering, video rendering, trans-coding, and just about all other power uses. games development, coding, database, spreadsheet, graphic design. etc etc. Smartphones are great, but they dont replace desktops.
give it time mate when smartphones get more powerful. they're already making a 6gb ram smartphones that are coming out this year so just imagine how powerful they will be by 2020
Ideally we dont want smartphones, we want them to evolve into something with unlimited screenspace, maybe VR or Augmented reality, and we want to harness that processing power with natural input not a ridiculous small touchscreen, but something like in minority report where you express and gesture with your hands.
what im saying is, they are weak because they are not productive for power use. What im saying is take that S7 stuff and put it into a laptop, and have actual 3D rendering, video editing, office, autocad, programming, software, instead of lame apps, and you might get somewhere. But as they are they cannot replace PC or power use.

Lets clear up one thing in the hopes of quelling ignorance, a mobile device will never be as powerful as a full featured desktop of the same time frame due to a thing called moore's law. Technology trickles down from PC development into the mobile industry not the other way around. A $900 smartphone will never be as powerful as a $900 custom built PC. Mobile is convenience with light tasks in mind. PC is power with heavy work loads in mind.

Recently Nvidia did tried to port crysis for their nvidia shield device (ARM processor) and it was able to handle it, So they are pretty capable but not enough for gta 5 yet. Half life 2 and portal is actually available for nvidia shield
