- The other day I was challenged to a PvP duel by @WizardA380 a new face in the Vtol Vr TH-cam community. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into it but I was pretty confident that I was going to win. But what I didn’t know at the time was that he wasn’t going to be alone. He had secretly recruited his community members to gang up on me halfway through the match. Unfortunately for him, I’m REALLY good at VTOL VR. Let’s just say it wasn’t a fair fight.
---------------------------
A huge shout-out to @WizardA380 for setting this collab up and reaching out to me. I had a blast playing with him and I highly recommend checking out his video of this event here: • How I lost a 6v1 again...
Also, check out his discord server: / discord

I wouldn't recommend it but if you want to join my discord it's here: / discord

And now I'm thinking about how complex his set up must be if it's got some kinda HOTAS and hand tracking at the same time.
@@bansheebacklash3730 There is no HOTAS available. Everyone is on the same level, just VR controllers, no peripherals. I can set up like this at about the same speed and I'm only a couple hours in, but it really depends on the person.
@@bbqsauce-e9m that's all the more impressive then. Interesting to know, actually makes me more interested to try when I finish building my gaming PC.

fast but it just becomes muscle memory after the 100th respawn
no reason why a physical setup would give an advantage over vr motion controls - in theory, with the right controls, people should be able to more effectively and competitively use controls in vr, since you don't just have 50 etc buttons, but you have near infinite positions, rotations + controller buttons + trigger + thumbsticks

The very definition of a "target-rich environment"
Common misconception: More allies doesn't make a stronger team against a solo enemy, it gives your enemy more targets.
But being by yourself gives them one target to focus on
@@isaacanderson9443yes and no, if U as a solo are hiding well enough and your enemy stays together. With a decent drop you should take all 3. You just have to know when to hide and how to hide
@@tenwhoever While technically it increases the odds mathematically, it also increases the potential of losses mathematically, and the difference isn't linear as you deal with pilots with more individual skill. A single jet can devastate around 8 opponents with a reserved load out, and in combat it's suicidal as well as a danger to allies to make uncoordinated attempts on a single target, especially mid combat turns.
So, you're right, as long as everyone is in a similar skill level as a pilot.

I Have got one hell of a story to tell. (Dont listen if you dont want.)
So I Have a friend with 1600 hours and we met in a lobby flying a tyro. (Him as pilot me as rio.)
And we got ambushed by 2 to 3 guys from behind us and fired at us, 3 missles inbound my friend pulls a top gun legit side flips aroynd 7 to 8 times at 0 speed maintaining alt and doesnt pop flares and chaff...... Missles all rip past the canopy they fly right by us.The enemy aircraft zip by about 10 second later. Multi lock onto all of them fires 3 to 4 missles all hit.(This was the first time I met him.) Still have no idea how he pulled it off.
And if your listning asten great job on that manuever still glad I got to fly with you.
(Sorry for the bad grammer I wrote it at 1 at night)
Playing this game with "hightway to the danger zone " in the playlist while you are taking off ... i can relate this is epic , make me goosebumps .

As soon as Kings played and you gave your monologue I knew this was gonna be hype
What I learned from this is that I have 290 hours in VTOL. That's like 200 hours more than I would have thought

"Cant G-pull with G-limiter on" Me who never turns off G-limiter: X for doubt
you can't G-pull the majority of player AMRAAMS, AI missiles pull less G's
@@immortaldev1489 That's incorrect. I can pull AIM-120 without a G-limiter in the F/A-26 and in the F-45. AIM-120s also have the same stats regardless if they are used by the AI or players.
it only takes 40-70 hrs to get an actual pilot's license and if you worked 1000 hours for say national average ($30/HR) you could have had paid for the classes about 3/4 times over.
It was very fun losing to you lol
It was fun flying against you. You’ve got the basics down just need a little more practice and you’d be pretty formidable.
Could you make a guide on the systems on each aircraft and how to maneuver certain weapons? I’m still pretty new so it would be such a helpful guide.
2 seconds of 12 g’s and your airframe will start to break. 11 is the sweet spot.

Great video dude
Yes, Kings is exactly the right piece to back this with.
I would love to fly and learn from someone with your experience sometime.
Hey, dont know if you will read this, but it would be cool as fuck if you could display the different methods of dodging missiles that the flight manuals showcase, a visual demo would be great for new pilots. Ive been reading up on the flight manual and its really fucking cool to see the doppler notching + chaff method, terrain masking , driving, and effective high G maneuvers used in action from the recipient's side.
I've considered making educational content about VTOL VR but I've always come up short as I find making tutorial videos very challenging.
@@EyosYT Please try and give it a go..there are plenty of us here who would love and appreciate it!
YES, THE PROJECT WINGMAN OST
Poor man’s DCS looking pretty fun.
i think i am picking up what you're putting down. too calm. too scary

Whats crazy about a 2-7 (1 - 3.5) kill ratio is it doesn't mean "You down almost 4 then die." It means "In a 6 to 1 JUMPING, 1 more of YOU would mean THEY /never had a kill/."
That was some awesome flying! Maybe you can answer the age-old is it the plane or the pilot question. Could a 500hr F-45A player win against a 1000hr F/A-26 player?
The skill of a player in most competitive games goes up logarithmically, so a player with 500 hours will be almost as good as a player with 1000 hours (assuming no other external factors). Especially since the f-45 is massively op compared to the wasp in the hands of less experienced players
Pretty sure he answered that question in a previous video. And the answer was yes, the F-45 wins always however a good pilot can beat the F/A-26 in the Trainer jet.
Yes a 500hr F-45 player can win against a 1000hr F/A-26 player and vice versa.
@@MrRolnicek This isn't entirely true. The F-45 will almost always win a BFM fight, but in BVR it's still very much killable in both 26s and 55s.
@@ScalarTH-cam 26 and 45 are even in bvr with the 26 usually being a bit better at close ranges up until the merge.
lmao when Kings started.
Somewhere out there in the world middle aged grown men are sitting around wearing a big lumpy headsets around their face playing a video game.
One thing I wonder about VTOL VR is this: Can you control External Drones from within a jet?
Aka Manned Unmanned teaming to simulate what 6th fighters are going to be roughly able to do.
You can vaguely tell your AI wingmen to do different things by using the comms menu or the limited voice commands. I guess you could roleplay by saying that these AI planes aren't actually piloted by people but are just AIs that you can tell to do your bidding. Flavor is free after all
honestly may come at some point with the way the game seems to be going with the new electronic warfare update
just join the air force atp
I've got over 5,000 hours in War Thunder and I still suck. lol
All hail the snail. Just a few more hours and you can ~almost~ have fun promise. 🤞
Bro the Kings soundtrack caught me off guard
did you play the ps5 project wingman music??? the one with the tunnel?
Yup
how do you do the multiple camera angles like that?
What's the point of rolling from side to side while releasing flares?
That's to force the enemy missile to also steer again and again which depletes its energy and make the actual evasive maneuver more effective (pulling 11 G). Imo he is not using the flares and chaffs properly that said. You really need the chaffs to be behind the aircraft to make the enemy's Fox 3 lose lock temporarily and turn cold. For flares it's different.
@@RonJeremy514 while that is true, later in the lobby when he was explaining that he actually said it was to release a chaff at perfectly 90 degrees to make notching more affective. both work though, I just wanted to kinda clear it up since it didn't get recorded
"I see what you're doing"
I suddenly hear Zero from Ace Combat
*they hasn't knowes what tehy goings against*
Hehe, I also have 1000 hours in VTOL VR .... unfortunatelly 800 of those were spent in editor ;)
Your plane skin is super cool!!

New eyos vid? Splendid.
Show 'em Monarch!

Incredible. Not much else to say
Luv Your Vids EYOS ❤❤❤
Dude... you're insane.
How do you get your headset footage to be so stable? Whenever I try to record VTOL VR it always comes out super shakey.
I use an external software called LIV first-person stabilizer to record my view. I then use the built-in VTOL VR S-Cam for recording the external shots.
@@EyosYT Oh thanks, I'll try it out!
at this point u are playing ace combat given the number of missiles that are being launched each sides
"You're a slave to history."
How do you know every control? Was it the tutorials in game or videos on TH-cam, or just from playing
A little bit of all three. The tutorials that you can find on TH-cam and in-game will help you with most of the basic stuff. For the more advanced theory, you'll have to learn that from experience.
I’ve been wanting vtol rv for a very long time now…I am almost there 😁
Mate that’s awesome
Great job! I did not understand one thing: why were you weaving while flying perpendicular to incoming missiles? From their perspective your trajectory change is not that significant and they do not waste too much fuel. But high-G weaving costs you a lot of energy. Is there a point I am missing?
The maneuver that I'm doing is called "wiggling" in the community. It's a way to make notching missiles with chaff more consistent. Notching is when you fly at a 90-degree angle to the incoming missile in order to try to get filtered out with the ground clutter. It's much easier to hit this perfectly 90-degree angle to the missile while in a turn than trying to line yourself up perfectly. Once you hit the 90 the missile seeker will no longer be able to detect you for a brief moment. In that moment it will lock onto the chaff that you have been deploying and hopefully go for it.
that's hella interesting, thanks for the explanation!@@EyosYT
@@EyosYT Ok, thanks! That explains it. For notching it is usually recommended to minimize the radar cross-section by pointing a wing towards the missile. And it makes a lot of sense for F-45. But yes, F/A-26 has big cross-section anyway, and hitting a perfect angle while weaving is preferable to minimizing cross-section. 14:40 is a perfect example of you evading at least 7 missiles using this method. I will definitely practice and use it now.
@@lowskillcamper notching does not reduce RCS, you get filtered out as ground clutter since you aren't going towards or away from the radar
@@immortaldev1489Yea irl notching actually increases RCS significantly, which makes it ineffective against most modern missiles/radars but most games don't capture this.
Project wingman, ace combat, eat ur hearts out
Main reason i dont go off game time is simple. Since I got arma, I've put almost 700 hours into it, played just about every minute of it. I have a friend that got arma like a year after me, and would leave it on all day. Got over 1000 hours within a few months. Probably played about 200 of those hours. That's why i don't go off recorded play time, it's too easy to cheat the system to get the hours without the work. I go off of how good the person is. I've seen plenty of new people take the time to actually learn a game and be better than someone who just sticks with the bare minimum and has a more time than new people
Do you think I should get this game because I am really considering it but I do have motion sickness.
Oddly VtolVr is the one game that I don’t have any motion sickness with. Everybody’s different of course. The nice thing is that with Steam returns you can try it out and see how the motion sickness is for you.
Motion sickness is definitely well managed in VTOL VR, you will be comfy playing it but the most important part for motion sickness is to keep practicing, at some point it will go away completely.
holy shit that looks fun. IS there a good space equivalent?
Is that Naval Ops Commander music? Heard it somewhere
How do you get your stick soo steady? i try to rest it on the end of my arm rest but that restricts my movements
Not sure about other players but I use the Valve Index hand controllers exclusively for now. I find it best to have a comfortable elbow support to rest on. It helps improve my hand stability for smooth pitch and roll. Yaw movement is still rough with no rudder pedals.
I play crosslegged and set my controller on my thigh.
How can you switch camera angles like that for recording?
What I want to know is why you defend by pulling side to side? Is it to force the missile to lead or to hope you defeat the missile at the right angle?
You have to turn to make the missile take the longest route, but once you turn passed 90 degrees, you’ll realize pretty quickly that you’re now going towards the missile, so you have to go the other way
Yo quick question what headset and gpu do you have ? And probably the best vtol vr content in youtube :0
