Just a shame that Bettiol’s soft wore out. Cort had the perfect strategy with the hard compound, all though he had some initial problems warming them up, they lasted all the way to the line.

    About the climate protest..
The important thing is that TdF is a event with big coverage that gets attention. Not because people are complaining about cycling.
But even if want to keep discussion inside the "cycling business"... The fact that some of the bigger teams/sponsors are Total, Ineos and UAE says a lot about the "environmentally friendliness" of this business.

Use the strongest team, make Pog work and then send Jonas on final climb. Ineos is irrelevant, JV is going for 1st. Sometimes you have to risk losing to win.

There is a bit of "liberty" around the rules: If you're asymptomatic and the viral count is low, you should be able to continue.
If your viral count is high... this is the grey area, depends on the team's doctor, and then the ASO doctor in charge of COVID + UCI Doctor.
If you have symptoms, you're out.

Methinks Pog and UAE will rue the fact that they did not gift Kamna yellow - they have lost Bennet and had to work hard today but tomorrow they will be expected to do all the pacing. After all if you want to keep yellow every day then you must work for it.

    • @AuroDHikoshi

I think UAE are doing a good job of pacing. The first part during the formation of breakway even Pog was controlling himself, it is very rare a leader doing that and the team has to work for about 80km to 100km and devided by 4 riders it is about 20km each, the rest 40km to 60km to the end Pog can do it himself if anyone dared to go long.
