The sound and performance on this are something else, especially considering this is so early in Zeppelin’s life. That middle section is just nuts. One of my favorites Zeppelin tunes and this is like a smorgasbord of greatness!

This is out of this world. To think, The Beatles' entire gigs were about half an hour and this one song was over 20 minutes, fans back then got their money's worth and then some.

I was there at 19 on April 27, 1969, it was the wrap up concert after 3 prior 4/24 Fillmore West, Saturday & Sunday at Winterland Ballroom, S.F. larger capacity than F.West. So incredible we listed to their album for the 1 hour drive South then listed to the Record until his parents were getting up for work. I couldn’t get enough for several weeks. I witnessed history in the making. Thank You Bill Graham for booking L.Z

I’ve still got the two record set that I bought in the middle eighties of this gig. I was floored then by it and I still am today - some 40 on! It’s my belief that Bill Graham himself was responsible for these Fillmore recordings. He intuitively knew Zeppelin were gonna be just huge. Anyone else hear the future Whole Lotta Love ending (with a bit of theramin) here, as they ended HMMT in the ‘69 early days here?

finally, i'd heard so much about this tour and their phenomenal performances. their first tour they were virtually unknown with their first record dropping halfway thru jan.13 1969. and here they are back a month after leaving and already becoming legends with these iconic performances. plant at his peak vocally, they sound so much more vibrant and powerful early on, they had something to prove. the improving was never better. great stuff.

Iggy i was at the last show ever played in the Boston Garden, Page/Plant 1995. Plant said he knew they were closing the place down and said they would give us a night we could never forget. Almost 4 hrs long, 21 songs total last song was Kashmere and Plant hit and held that note in the middle even after 20 songs and 17 the night before. My then wife and I were sitting just to the left of Jimmy Page middle section, I still have one of the two shirts I bought myself that night after all these years. Best concert i have ever been to and I have been to a bunch.

Back in the day,,, Toronto had Peter Dunn's vinyl museum between Sam the record man and A & A records. They had a massive collection of blues, jazz and rock live performances on album and tape. I myself had quite a few Zep bootleg concert albums. I focussed on the highlight concerts that spanned their career. Starting with the John Peel show BBC sessions, this concert, Blueberry Hill at the LA forum, Bonzo's Birthday, Seattle 1977, Destroyer 4 album box set Cleveland 1977, and Knebworth 1979 in a 4 album box set. I never got a chance to see them as they did not schedule Toronto dates due to a couple of fan issues at two venues. Torontonians are the worst fans of sport, music, and anything else that has people congregate. I was "lucky" enough to see the Page Plant No quarter tour which was good, but very pissed the JPJ was excluded. JPJ and Bonzo were my favourites in the band.

Led Zeppelin were a deeply funny band. The diddy on the album cover plus Robert’s obscure vocalization was definitely an attention grabber

I have always considered Led Zeppelin a studio band. Live they go too far sometimes.

Disagree with you my old friend. Live was where the magic happens as with all rock n roll performers. Playing live is what these bands did in those days

Studio versions were a brilliantly engineered mish mash of raw first takes and slowed down or seeded up over dubs. Live they were a jamming band, going off at tangents, including a bit of Brahms here, Nursery Rhymes there, Mozart, etc, keeping the other members on their toes and ready to respond to certain cues and get back on theme. Jazz? Blues? Folk? Yep, all of that. Every night different.

Every night was a full on concert with a little tweak here a little tweak there just to keep you on your toes, BRILLIANT JUST BRILLIANT. PEACE TO YOU ALL MY FRIEND'S. ✌️😎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

They reinvented many songs from the past, much of music is reinvented somewhere along the line, i believe they improved the tunes., I believe they have credited all by now. So many more people know about these artists now. The zep were all hall of fame musicians, wituosos at each position. They included so many genres iintheir work. Have you knot ever liked the cover tune over the original? Most bands have recorded covers. The Zep still doing it for me, gimve some more listening, enjoy@adaa2439
