About 100 for me... Probably 1000 plays for this concert in general, not counting the times I played this back on the DVD I "borrowed" from my uncle when I was in high school.
@@alexanderh.5814 plant could not sing it nearly as well. Add to that they had a much larger catalog to pull songs from. It is my favorite zep song. I love hearing the different versions.
@@rickchyczewski576 Thank you for that appreciated. I too love listening to the various live versions here on TH-cam. The riff lick from John Paul Jones' bass is easily one of the most iconic of all songs from Led Zepplin imo. And I've listened to a fair amount of their songs...
@@Blackscorpion1963 agreed and I love that this is a mammoth jam between the four of them knowing what they’ll do and what to do to back up plant who is belting out the vocals... rock on!
Picture this - 1969 - small town in rural New Zealand. Friend came to my place with a record from this unknown band called Led Zeppelin. I was 14 - holly shit.
Led Zeppelin played music that can't be touched no other band comes close they cast a shadow over Rock and Roll these guys weren't mere mortals they are the gods of Rock and Roll
@@Blackscorpion1963 Plant's vocals were fine in 1970, his problems developed later in '72. They just decided to use Whole Lotta Love for the medley not HMMT and it fell out of the set.
I've long considered this the ultimate performance, but this is my first time hearing this unedited performance. Would you know, it's even better than the original. Thanks for the upload!
On that note check out 'Hammer Of The Gods' [unauthorized biography] - I've got the book and found it a great read. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hammer_of_the_Gods_(book)
It's from the Royal Albert Hall DVD. There's a 2 hour recording of it on TH-cam. Although, it might be cut a bit. The band intros in this song were not in the DVD release.
I’m probably 4,000 of the 16,000 plays seriously at this point
i got the other 12

I'm about at your stage Roman and I thought that was enough, man was I wrong
For me Led Zeppelin's BEST song.
Yep. They stopped playing it live for some reason.

They certainly can be touched. But, they are a top 5 hard rock band for sure in my book.
@@JohnnyMacalvee-cf7et Nup they can NOT be touched. They ARE the top 5! Your book is obviously ficticious. No offence bro.
@@JohnnyMacalvee-cf7et they are #1
I agree with being in the Top 5. Many many bands are equal too or even better than mighty Zep 🎸🔊🤘
@@stevemann3080 thats an insane statement!
ive never heard this veriosn, never knew they chopped it up for release
Nor I.. you can tell the chops pretty easy.. still so great
Godly performance from Jimmy in his birthday...
probably my favorite of jimmy’s solos
Intro is so nice
My favoritel live Zep song. Not long after this performance, they stopped playing it live.
Not sure why they stopped playing this song live..? So great
@@TRUMP-2024-STF apparently Plant's vocals weren't up to it plus there was a greater number of songs to draw from in songlists for gigs.
@@Blackscorpion1963
I would agree to that..

They still used it alive all the way up to 75 playing it on rare occasion
>Jimmy's improv solos
>"What if I just play ALL the notes?"
Reporter: How much blues do you play?
Page: Yes
I was lucky enough to them 3 times lives, what a treat.
That bit from 19:20 up to 20:45 is just pure gold. So much raw power in Bonham's drum
Nice band introduce totally cutted in the official release! Thanks
I could listen to each instrument on its own for the song. All of them together 🤯
this is a master piece, niece jam 😺
This is the best performance of their history.
GOAT🐐
A tribute to the rhythm section of this fine band.
21:08 Holy Sh**t He's voice is so god damn raw and powerful :O how can sing that high and that powerful. Roberts voice from 68-72 was untouchable
surely was, he fried his voice eventually for singing so strong, worth it
the band introduction part is very nice, i don't know why they removed it on the official version

Awesome guitar solos by Jimmy Page!
love this song and i love jimmy's guitar tone on boogie chillun
