LIVE AND LET LIVE PHILOSOPHY: some people might think now that it would be a good idea to rage at the guy driving the Fiat. To teach him a lesson. To make him understand that this type of driving is dangerous.
Yes. That would make sense. But only if I was convinced that he indeed did put me at risk. But he clearly did not. The whole situation might look a lot more dramatic than what it was. In reality there was still more than enough space for me. Probably even for a second Multistrada next to me. The GoPro's highly distorted SuperView mode makes the correct judging of spaces, distances, etc. virtually impossible. I'm the one who was riding the bike. I'm the one who captured the video. I'm the only one who can assure you that there was nothing to worry about.
Again and again I hear people complaining about the non-caring driving style of some Italians. But from my own personal experience I can only conclude that so far those 'lane-challenged' drivers somehow still seem to know exactly what they are doing. For bikes, even for fat ones, there's always enough space. And if you're worried that there might NOT be enough than you'll simply have to ride a lot slower. Which takes me to the 'me hating hypocrites'-thing: I know I'm also not always sticking to the rules. But I also know that I'm doing my very best (which is quite a lot) to not put anyone at risk besides myself. Therefore I can live quite well with it. And this leads to me assuming that the Fiat's driver shares my 'live and let live' philosophy. Which leads to me not having to waste energy on complaining/raging and being able to focus on enjoying the ride instead. And I definitely prefer doing whatever I have to do to be able to enjoy the ride as much as I can :)

DISCLAIMER: countless hours of coding efforts went into manipulating the bike's ECU in order for it to show random numbers instead of my actual velocity to make my riding look faster. In reality I never exceeded 82,8kph. Unfortunately sometimes my ECU hack didn't work and the speedo showed my actual speed which was too slow to brag so I decided to blur the speedo instead.

There was nothing at all. Regular driving in French/Italian Alps - cutting corners and all that. This happens many times a day over there.
good thing you didnt go snowcat mode with that cager @6:12. 😂 riding is all about positivity. i too think of the same thing, whenever im on my ride no negative vibes would penetrate its positive barrier. 😁
those type of dudes basically were my inspiration for doing this. They all are f*ckin hypocrites. I still can't believe that so many people are stupid enough to even support their behaviour. They make others look bad while portraying themselves as Mother Theresa of roadcraft basically. All while their annoying vlogs basically show 5% of their total riding. Who knows how they act without the camera? I certainly know that nobody's perfect. And unfortunately almost nobody is honest.

Supposing a nice twisty road, thats configuration will not let you go faster than 140-150kmh and this only in the straights. the sort of roads you usually drive on.
which bike do you think you would be faster on?
your CB?
A gs or multistrada?
The triumph sports bike that i see you riding sometimes?
Or a Street bike like a speed triple or z1000?
I would be the quickest with something like a Street Triple R (naked bike with premium suspension components and upright seating position)

not this exact scenario but this for instance: imagine a 1 kilometer long straight. You can see until the end. On its end there is a car coming from the opposite direction. In front of me, in my lane, is a car I want to overtake. The straight is so long that I can easily overtake the car without putting the oncoming car in danger. Because he is incredibly far away still. In fact I could go for 5 overtakes and still be 100% safe.
But of course you still get raging flashing highbeams from the car several hundred meters away....

Ja, so is es. Furchtbar ärgern und der Tag is versaut, oder abschütteln und weitergenießen. Ich bewundere den "Vara-Hannes", der auf der sicheren Linie schneller fährt als so mancher Möchte-gern-Rossi!
Einmal hat bei mir ein BMW Fahrer in ner Kurve überholt und ist auf meiner Spur halb gefahren, und hätte mich fast mitgenommen.
Da bleibt einem echt kurz das Herz stehen.

Die meisten Motorradfahrer haben ebenfalls enorme Probleme damit, in ihrer Spur zu bleiben.
Schaaf ist da eine willkommene Abwechslung, da man auch merkt, dass er mit ein wenig Verstand unterwegs ist.
Schaut man jedoch ein x-beliebiges Raservideo auf TH-cam, gurken die meisten Helden der Landstrasse fast ausschliesslich auf der Gegenfahrspur herum (evtl leicht übertrieben).
und es braucht auch ein wenig Verstand, um dies überhaupt erstmal erkennen zu können :) Danke vielmals

ja, habe ich. 2011er Modell und 2016 kurz eine R. Unfassbar geniales Motorrad. Aber ich stehe halt auch sehr auf die britischen Dreizylinder. Aber auf der Straße ist mir die Street 1000x lieber. Weniger Gewicht, passendere Leistung.
I agree with your philosophy and hope that other bikers take a leaf out of your book. I see many motovloggers getting upset with car/van/truck drivers because the car driver did something that is slightly against the rules or the driver is not being quite as polite and considerate as they could be. E.g. not letting a bike in after it has filtered in London traffic. Yet many bikies rely on bending the rules and drivers being OK with some dubious filtering techniques or risky overtakes.
It is as you say live and let live and that attitude will lead to less demonization by the media or cage drivers and less harassment from police.

Conclusion: Drive on your Lane and dont cut corners (if you cant see into it). :D I see a lot of bikers readjust their lines when im coming the other direction as i drive close to the middle on right handers. This should not happen. Often they look very suprised about this rather normal occurence.
Ich geb dir da vollkommen Recht, Schaaf! Es lohnt sich einfach nicht sich über solche Situationen aufzuregen und sich und andere ggf. noch zusätzlich in Gefahr zu bringen, weil man den Fahrer zur Rechenschaft ziehen will. Man muss nun mal damit rechnen das andere Verkehrsteilnehmer es nicht so genau nehmen mit der Spurentreue. Das trifft gleichermaßen und leider viel öfters auf Motorradkollegen zu. Daher öfters mal die Kirche im Dorf lassen. Da gibt es viel schlimmere Situationen z.B. im Stadtverkehr, wo man das Fahrverhalten mancher Dosenfahrer tatsächlich als Mordversuch werten kann/muss.

Amazing road good riding style but too much 2nd gear, that bike has tons of torque and I think you could have a much more efficient ride if you used more torque (leaving it in 3rd gear) instead of looking for high revs and power like if you had a 4cyl, my opinion.

I'd like also if you told us what are the main differences in riding between big modern bikes and your cb, because all looks pretty similar in terms of agility and fast cornering
I wasn't prepared at all. But riding bikes always works in the exact same ways. That's what I quickly learned when riding different bikes for the first time last season. I just had to be more careful when accelerating out of corners. Although in the case of the Multistrada I'd have traction control to help. Although I didn't need it in the end (no yellow light was flashing). These modern bikes in general are more stable, they run smoother, and they brake better. But my old CB needs less force to be thrown into corner, it's more agile

Ist ein gutes Beispiele wie durch eine richtig Linie solch eine Situation ohne Probleme zu handeln ist! Die Zigaretten aus Fenster Werfer lassen da mein Hals dicker werden.
W as mich bissel wundert ist das zu alle Bikes mit so hoher Drehzahl fährst, machst du das wegen der Motorbremse oder der Stabilität durch den “gyroskopischen Effekt“?

die hohen Drehzahlen kommen von meiner CB500-Schädigung. Bei der passiert nämlich nur was zwischen 8K und 11K Umdrehungen. Im Falle der Multistrada ist zwar unten und in der Mitte (dank DVT) auch viel Kraft vorhanden, aber explodieren tut sie erst "da oben". Und ich verstehe bis heute nicht, wozu ich ein 160PS Motorrad fahren soll, wenn ich die Leistung niemals nütze. Deshalb die hohen Touren in dem Fall.

Ich denke grundsätzlich hast du recht, dass man im Straßenverkehr bei solchen Situationen nicht völlig ausrasten sollte. Allerdings kann jemand, der Kurven so schneidetanderen Verkehrsteilnehmern ziemlich gefährlich werden ( wenn jetzt zum Beispiel statt dir ein breiterer PKW um die ecke gekommen wäre, wäre es warscheinlich schon sehr eng geworden.) Meiner Meinung nach könnte man ja vlt umdrehen und den jeweiligen Fahrer freundlich auf seinen Fehler hinweisen, vlt achtet er ja in Zukunft mehr darauf.
Wenn ich ein breiterer PKW gewesen wäre, dann wär' immer noch genug Zeit für ihn gewesen, Platz zu machen. Genau das meine ich mit "der weiß schon, was er tut"
Ich wage mal zu bezweifeln dass der weiß was er tut. Es gibt so viele
Leute im Straßenverkehr, die sehr sorglos durch die Gegend fahren und
sich überhaupt keinen Kopf um ihren Fahrstil machen. Es kann gut sein,
dass diese Situation bei einem breiteren Pkw noch gut ausgegangen wäre,
aber wenn jemand Kurven an unübersichtlichen Stellen so stark schneidet
dann ist er entweder zu schnell für sein Können, kein guter Autofahrer,
oder er denkt einfach garnicht darüber nach (das wahrscheinlichste).
Denn Kurven bewusst zu schneiden, ist ziemlich dumm, weil es einfach nur
zu gefährlichen Situationen führt und keinen Vorteil bringt.
Dann müssen wir uns darauf einigen, dass wir nicht einig sind ;)

ich bin mal Rechberg runtergefahren als mir ein Autofahrer direkt auf meiner Spur entgegenkam. Do kennts mi aushängen. Ist in deinem Video vielleicht auch etwas "verständlicher" weils keine Spurbegrenzung bzw. -Teilung gibt. Man muss halt immer für die anderen mitdenken, grad wenn man auf solche Straßen fährt wie du im Video.

danke dir!! Mir sind wirklich schon oft genug Autos auf meiner Spur entgegengekommen. In Österreich und Italien. Für mich als Biker war aber immer genug Platz. Ich bin halt auch der Meinung, dass viele Zweiradkollegen selber gar nicht so recht einschätzen können, wie viel Platz sie eigentlich wirklich brauchen... Aber klar, mal sehen, wie meine Meinung mal aussieht, wenn es sich mal nicht mehr ausgeht ;)
Schaaf Ja Platz ist meistens eh genug ^^ aber wenns mal richtig knapp ist und der Autofahrer mal schläft, ein bisschen zu spät reagiert oder nicht weglenkt kann das sicher auch mal schlecht ausgehn.
Naja du forderst einen Sturz/Unfall ja nicht so heraus wie Maxwrist oder andere. Ist auch gut so :)

Dauert dann aber nicht lang bis ich kapier, dass es eigentlich mein Fehler war so unaufmerksam zu sein, dass ich mich überhaupt vor ner Dose erschrecken konnte ;D

Hast alles richtig gemacht ;) kurven schneiden ist zwar falsch und schlecht für uns Motorrad Fahrer, aber wenn wir ehrlich sind fahren wir auch nicht wie man sollte :D ich hätte trotzdem den Mittelfinger ausgepackt :D
ich schneide seit mittlerweile knapp 11 Jahren auf Zweirädern nach belieben Kurven. Ich wüsste nicht, wo mir das geschadet haben sollte :)
ist auch jedem selbst überlassen kommt auch immer auf die Situation an ob alles übersichtlich ist:(

Multistrada hat nervige scheibe. Stört das ganze Video. Mit der honda oder nem nackedbike sind Videos besser. Bessere Aussicht und feeling aber sonst top Videos weiter so.

Zum fahren kein Zweifel ;) Aber die Videos mit deiner Honda kommen besser an, weil da eben nichts im weg ist. Und man kann die Aussicht genießen. Wünsche eine gute 2017 season.
