There are so many Chinese brands, no dealers and nowhere to get spares. Which brands will survive? I bought my first moped in 1973 - a 1957 Wittler. I bought my first motorcycle in 1978, a 1972 Suzuki GT550. I always buy used motorcycles with a good reputation. In May I bought a 2018 Suzuki SV650. I will never buy a high displacement motorcycle but may buy a used Chinese motorcycle when they get a dealer network and a good reputation.

@@SuPreMeBikeRs I would not rule out buying anything just because it was made in China. So far as I am concerned it is no different than buying any other imported goods. However, in the case of a new brand i had not heard much about, I might want to be reassured that the import, distribution and spare-parts operations were in place and reliable.

After three decades of producing largely small capacity bikes of dubious quality, some of the Chinese manufacturers are looking as if they are now offering some larger models of good quality and well thought out specifications. Their next challenge is to set up a network of dealers in key markets who can provide top quality aftersales support. Not easy, but of critical importance.

    • @migueruta
      @migueruta 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

Establishing dealers might not be the real issue here! the real issue is the lack of compatible parts for the regular Motorcycle Maintenance. Chine brands have lots of exclusive parts in their bikes so their Costumer/User can't buy anything but from the main brand itself.
And if the chinese brand doesn't has the parts required for Maintenace/Repairs available in its dealers, the chinese motorcycles become useless once it's broken.
One of my bestfriends has a motorcycle business since the last century and most of his brands are chinese since 2015, and he's always looking out for spare parts (new and 2nd hand/used), because these are not easily available and becoming rare (even for the most selled models) and getting more and more expensive.
Lots of people are ditching/selling chinese brand bikes in Europe, no matter how good their quality is - why?
-Because its users spend most time of year with their bikes halted/parked due to lack of parts, compared to the amount of time they spend riding their chinese bikes.
People get fooled by its looks and later, they regret buying it.
The rule is: the lower the CC, the worse it gets in this matter.

Now there are collectors of what use to be called trash. I'm going to buy a 2025 model soon as they hit the dealers. I know a lot of people that plan the same thing. I use to be loyal to USA brands but since they are not really USA made anymore, I have discontinued this mindset. My ford truck was made in Mexico. Clearly US brands don't care about brand loyalty anymore. Not only that, but they have priced themselves out of the market. The American people have been reduced to the lowest common denominator. Price!!! I can get near the same quality of bike for just a little over half the price. And another thing, CFMoto has a warranty that is 2 times that of most other companies. If they are willing to do that then they must have faith that the product is of good quality.

For those of us who just want to ride and aren’t overly bothered about ‘status’, switching to bikes from the far-east or India has been a ‘no-brainer’ for some time. The range of choice is expanding rapidly, running costs are low and durability is surprisingly good (and constantly improving). Existing leading brands will have to decide whether to stay in the game and compete toe to toe by shifting manufacturing to wherever its cheapest, or whether to move their range even further up-market in the hope of hanging on to a loyal following for whom the badge on the tank is the only thing that matters. I suspect most of us will become increasingly reluctant to pay the difference.

…. It’s what the British and Americans said about the Japanese cars in the 60s and when the ‘73 OPEC happened in the states HONDA was king with their little Civic CVCC changed the minds of many, then the British manufacturing corps such as British Leyland /BMC collapsed followed by the the American market moving to Japanese’s imports..
Then came along the Koreans with Kia/Hyundai in the mid-80s yet they’re outselling most manufacturers world wide for the last 35 years..
Even BMW source their engines from Scandinavian, Indian and British manufacturers, the Japanese market in the mid-90s had Chinese manufacturing companies rebrand Honda, Yamaha and Vespa / piaggio, so your theory of Japanese reliability isn’t the same as it once was as others are catching up…

It worth to be mentioned that QJ Motor SRK 1000 has the frame and the engine from MV Agusta Brutale 921 and the design is made by C-Creative, which is the design company of Giovanni Castiglioni. Adrian Morton and Paolo Bianchi work with him. Also, the design of Moto Morini is made by the same C-Creative.But I doubt SRK 1000 will be only 9000 euro in Europe, SRK 921 RR costs the equivalent of 8900 euro, but in China.

There's an issue... Chinese brands have lots of exclusive parts in their bikes, which are not compatible with other brands.
This does not allow their Costumer/User to buy parts but from the main brand itself.
Often the chinese brand doesn't has the parts required for Maintenace/Repairs available in its dealers so, those motorcycles become useless once they go broken from the lack of maintenance or due to be long waiting for parts.
One of my bestfriends has a motorcycle business since the last century and most of his brands are chinese since 2015, and he's always looking out for spare parts (new and 2nd hand/used), because these aren't easily available and are becoming rare (even for those most selled models) and getting more and more expensive.
Lots of people are ditching/selling chinese brand bikes in Europe, no matter how good their quality is. Why?
      - Compared to the amount of time they spend riding their chinese bikes because its users spend most time of year with their bikes halted/parked due to lack of parts, .
People get fooled by its looks and later, they regret buying it. The rule is: the lower the CC of that chinese bike, the worse it gets in this matter. The bottomline is: on the short/long run, the chinese brands will do the same has the japanese do from the start: «overpricing and robbing us» when they sell parts.

How many are involved in Moto GP's? Are they trying to steal the show without the technical know how? I have to say in mitigation, the beauty we see may not last, but how can you know until you buy and try! Risk your money first and be the bike test for the rest! The price point may win the day for Chinese bikes, but how long will they last and hold their value? Wait a few years and we will see! Replying to thelittlesignpost. What are the requirements for Moto GP? The Chinese manufactures are getting towards the displacement required for Moto GP. They're building a good lineup of models for sale to secure a stable business model instead focusing on and betting the farm for racing in Moto GP. CFMoto for the short time they have been in Moto3 have done very well. 2024 World Championship. How well would a liter bike sell in the Asia market to justify all the R&D and money to make it available to a market that cannot afford it. The Chinese will have to build a customer base elsewhere in the world to sell their liter bikes in volume at an affordable price the same way the Japanese brands did years ago to support a Moto GP effort. How well do their liter bikes sell in Japan compared to the rest of their lineup. The European brands in Moto GP sell liter bikes in low volume that are 5 and 6 times the cost of what sells in the Asian market. They rely on worldwide sales at a premium price point for their sales numbers. China is not there yet. I am really not telling you anything you did not take into consideration of how a manufacturer would jump into Moto GP. CFMoto's in Europe get a four-year warranty and price point that is hard to resist. Here in America, we only get a two-year warranty that you can extend out to six years that includes all free service cost for those six years. And the retail price point is cheaper here than in Europe. I have the 450SS/SR that was designed in Italy. ABS/ECU/ fueling by Bosch, Brembo brakes. To use your scripted. You fail to understand all the tech that really went into my bikes design.

I remember another YT video talking about Chinese brand entering Vietnam, and while the company was able to capture market share, it basically lost most of its market and clients only after several years. Build quality, durability, service, were among several reasons of its decline. Yah, these products might be cheap and look great with all the gimmicks, but more important is how will it perform in 3-5 years.

Did you forget pearl harbor? Did you forget that US funded covid? Did you forget that almost all have parts made in china? Did you forget that Harley Davidson is moving to India? There are a lot of things you are forgetting to have loyalty to a countries products. If it was 30 years ago i would agree. Things have changed. The lines have been blurred. Things are not what they seem anymore. So will you buy a product who's name and location of origin is not Chinese but is made in china? Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Yamaha, Harley Davidson, Indian all have their motors made by Chinese companies. Most of the electronics on the these bikes are made in china. One way or another you are giving business to china. The quality is not an issue because they just use the same manufacturing plants that make all the others parts. Your heart is in the right place, but unfortunately the manufactures of products have no such loyalty.
It all comes down to the least common denominator. Price!!!
