It will be a while before the US accepts this kind of technology. It's because the baby boomers rejected technology. I work with baby boomers and one of the baby boomers favorite saying is, "I don't do computers." Many of our politicians are baby boomers. Embracing technology is not a conservative value.
Well many of these ideas have been invented before. For example, one of the first automobiles was electric as far back as 1828, and now the world circles back to the idea, although more successful than before. They were heavily flawed in their concepts. Many of these other inventions I have seen before, or they are luxury inventions that lack practicality in mass appeal due to the cost burden. These are still cool to see, but I doubt any of the more exciting ideas have a realistic chance of breaking through their market. They are doomed to be vaporware, as again some of these concepts are heavily flawed. I'm not just spelling doom, some of these ideas are fairly realistic, impressive and viable. But of the inventions that have failed in many iterations before, it is unlikely.
