Good video, but when you used that drill I damn near choked on smoke bro! Drills have no place on installing anything on a firearm, get a Wheeler Fat Wrench and torque to inch pounds👍🏽
I ordered an ATI T3 stock for my Maverick 88, I’ve heard that the version you have is less comfortable versus the newer version (the T3). There is a bit of a cost difference between the two the T3 is $110 to $130 your model goes for around $70. If you like the design of this one, I would highly suggest upgrading to the T3 version you won’t regret it 😎👍
I appreciate the feedback! And not just for me but for anyone who peeks around in the comments! It’s cool to have a community that’s willing to help out and give information 🔥 thank you DJ
@@lonzooutdoors I agree and no problem Glad I can give you some input yeah I came across a couple of different reviews and almost picked up the same grip stock as you but after thinking about I figured I might as well get the one that’s a little more upgraded for comfort and the level of recoil that’s on your pistol grip hand plus I forgot to mention the upgraded one has a cheek rest That’s adjustable 😎👍
How is your sight picture with the front bead? Can you get low enough to see it? I've heard people had issues with that with this stock. Also, please do a heat shield install and review!!! I do want the side folding stock but thinking of this one instead because of the price.
Honestly, the stock is rised a little high so you don’t see “down the barrel” as evenly as you would without it. I wouldn’t call it an issue, but definitely something I didn’t think about when I bought it. I’m going to make a video addressing some of the questions you guys have had so stay tuned - I will answer this more in depth with a video of how it looks! Also yes I definitely want that heat shield 😅 Thanks for commenting!
Yes I do feel it. I’m trying to press my cheek up to look down the barrel because the sight picture isn’t too good so I get punched in the face. Look around my channel, I made a review on it out at the range. It’s called “Should YOU buy the ATI Tactical Stock?”
@@lonzooutdoors I will check it out. I had one on my 870 but removed it after I could no longer tolerate the cheek punch. Now I have a Churchill 12g..thinking of another tactical style stock.
Does it work well? I have a magpul on my Maverick 88.. definitely no where near as good compared to my friends Benelli nova.. also I've had double barrels with laminate and wood that have less recoil firing both barrels 😅 same loads
I will say, the pistol grip hurts more, right on the dip your hand in between your thumb and other fingers. The kick felt so much more concentrated on that part, enough to where i didn’t shoot it too much that day 😅 the action is also “harder” to get to but it’s not difficult at all. Just not as easy. But all you have to do is get used to pushing up with your thumb like in the video.
@@kanistas I would google the laws in your state and do really good research. I don’t wanna give you advice since I’m not a lawyer and then have you get in trouble 😅
Terrible stock imo, the forend is nice but when I shoot 3 inch mags or slugs, after maybe 7-8 rds the stock gets super loose. I’ve had to tighten it multiple occasions so I just took it off.
Ive had the same experience. People told me to use Loctite, a screw fastener glue, but there’s no point for me. I’d rather just use what worked from the start Thanks for comment brother 🔥 feel free to sub and check out the rest of the channel for more gun content!
am i the only one who noticed the grip is so fat its hard to reach the slide release? not a big deal, i still like it! i took a sharp knife and shaved rubber off the back of the grip, helped a little but the thing still kinda blocks that slide release
No not just you. For the ATI grip, I don’t feel it’s too “fat” butttt It’s definitely a “thing” you have to deal with. Even with the aftermarket stock, it gets harder to reach the slide release. I think just the nature of the placement makes it difficult to work with. But nothing a knife couldn’t fix apparently 🔥😂 thanks for commenting! Feel free to sub and check out the rest of the channel! I just got a Taurus TX22 🔥
@@lonzooutdoorsi just looked closer, somehow the box is the same but it looks like you got a plastic grip?? the one i got was rubber. u must have wondered how i cut it w a knife ha idk what one would be better
From what I know, the grip IS interchangeable BUT I don’t believe all grips can be fit properly onto the stock part of it. So maybe one idea can be to but the set up and buy and additional grip sleeve or like a rubber padding you can put over it. There’s definitely other grips out there but I don’t think there’s many that can fit with THIS adjustable stock - or at least have a flush and tight fit.
For me personally it did. But I can’t discredit it completely because some have advised to use Loctite. That may steady it out a bit. Check out the video I have on my channel. It’s a direct review!
Would they have one of these for a maverick youth model 20 gauge? I ask because I had one gifted to me and trying to shoot it with the short butt stock my thumb is up against my lower eye socket, not comfortable at all
Hey Kenneth. From my knowledge, I’ve never seen or heard of a youth model in any gauge. Maybe another aftermarket stock or butt pads that extended the length of your stock will help. Also, try looking on mossberg’s page… it’s really easy to navigate - maybe you can find stock parts that will help you find something to your liking. Thanks for the comment, consider subscribing if you enjoy gun content. We got plenty of it on the channel and more to come! 🔥
@@lonzooutdoors I just subbed. A youth model is basically standard action shotgun with a shortened butt stock and maybe a little shrter barrel to accomodate smaller statured shooters such as those in pre teens. a 12 gauge is a bit much for most smaller people which is why most youth model shotguns are either 20 or 410 gauge. I wanted a 12 like yours but really couldnt afford it when outta nowhwere my brother gives e his maveruck, which is a mossberg 20 gauge youth model for free. Cool thing is it has screw in chokes. Now me, being a big old dude, my thumb rests against my eye socket when aiming and it does have enough kick that it sometimes leaves welts under my eye lol. Thanks for the tip ill look at the site
Definitely want to add a rail, light, and optic to make this a “tactical one”. I have a wood furniture Rem 870 that is going to the “classic” shotgun I keep stock
The advertising on the box says Remington, Mossberg, and Winchester. That’s what I would use it on to avoid any fitment issues. For the EG 200 I would buy something that was made for that shotgun in specific.
the comedic genius got my sub. ask ya dad!
Hey thanks 😂😂 just subbed to you as well
@ thanks!
Straight to the point. Cant wait to get my mossy🔫
Reliable. Inexpensive. 12 gauge. What else do you need? Haha 💪🏻
I ordered the folding one 💥💥
Oooo those are always great choices too! 🔥
Doesn’t look bad, looks like an easy install. I like the adjustable stock more than anything else about it. May look into one.
Definitely a solid upgrade to your 12 gauge 💯
When your girlfriend buys you firearms or firearm accessories that's true love right there. Put a ring on her.
😂😂😂🙌🏻
If you ever do a follow up I'd be curious how it holds up under recoil, maybe with some shooting footage.

If it works on the Maverick 88 it will fit all to 590 because I got a 590 stock and it works on my 88 one to fit all Mossberg shockwave yes even that.
