    sir, out of all the demonstrations I have seen on TH-cam, none have mentioned a function check. Thank you. Now I know for sure my shotgun is operational for defense purposes. And I just click the "Like" button to show my appreciation for your awesome demonstration.

      its tricky especial the magazine parts that fall out when you pull the trigger group its not hard just have to pay attention when you reassemble the firearm

    Your video was outstanding!
    Thaw 88 is insanely simple to strip down, yet terrible to reassemble!
    Perhaps I just forgot the last time that I did it. Thanks fir the help!

      @@3mike2hotel43 GREAT JOB, THANKS! I just picked my 20 gauge 88 up 6 hours ago and appreciate your excellent presentation!!! They are really scarce to find in central Illinois and the one I found at Scheel's couldn't have been on the floor very long! Paid $232.00 plus tx + $256.??. I am a happy man plus now, I can service it with confidence! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year... Bravo Hotel out...

    Thanks for very nice instructional video. I need to tear down my mav 88 as pump action is very stiff compared to 500 and your video helps a lot.

    • @3mike2hotel43
      @3mike2hotel43  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No problem, with use, the action should smooth out a bit. Unlike the 500/590, the maverick 88's interfacing surfaces aren't polished well from the factory. I guess it's a necessary cost saving cut for Mossberg to keep these shotguns budget friendly.

    i just seen your video , I replaced my Forend on my Maverick 88 watching your video it went great , function check and everything..my concern is when i was all done and shot gun back together cycling great there on my bench was a small black washer and I have no clue where it could have come from and the bench was clean when i started so i know it wasn't there and had to have come from the gun but i don't know where.( AIM sports same exact forend with same action bars and everything ) quick easy exchange.

    • @3mike2hotel43
      @3mike2hotel43  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, sorry for the late reply. When you look at the washer, is it a metal or rubber washer? If metal, it may have come off the stock bolt(assuming you removed the stock during disassembly). If it's rubber, it's likely from the dowel rod that is used to lower the capacity of the shotgun to 2+1(you can confirm this by checking to see if there are 2 washers on your dowel rod). If that's the case, you may not need it, unless you plan on using the dowel again.
      I hope this helps! Have a great day

    So far no one has ever mentioned the bolt guide in the housing you can find it there is a screw holding it in place, but not in any youtube video, why do I ask because it makes the bolt canter and jam, why?

    Please help someone. I think I pushed the bolt group to far back and when I went to go take the first part out it got stuck like halfway slide off the bolt. I don’t know what the fuck to do because everything I’ve tried hasn’t worked. I barely slide it back to try and take it out and it just got like jam stuck

    I cannot get my barrel nut to tighten all the way down

    • @3mike2hotel43
      @3mike2hotel43  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there, how far is the barrel tightened? Sometimes there will be a very small gap between the tube and the barrel, even if the barrel is completely torqued down. If the gap is considerable though, it may be an issue with how the barrel is locking into the receiver.

  • @calvinthompson172

      Depending on where you bought the firearm, and the condition of the shotgun when you bought it, it may have been removed prior to your purchase.

    is that a mossberg maverick 88 20 gauge youth?

    • @roberthoward7526
      @roberthoward7526 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, game hopper (if you haven't found the answer to your question yet! I foolishly passed up two a couple of weeks ago not realizing I could have changed the butt stock and been fine! The barrel is 2" shorter on the youth model too, I believe, but that wouldn't have mattered. Hope you found one...Merry Christmas...

    • @3mike2hotel43
      @3mike2hotel43  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, the model on the table is a Maverick 88 12 gauge with a full length stock and a 28" barrel. However, I do own a youth 20 gauge as well, so I should be able to answer any questions regarding that model if need be.

  • @robertwatson818

    KEEP THE RECEIVER OPENING VISIBLE. STOP TILTING IT TO THE SIDE. FIX THE GUN IN SOMETHING RIGID. MORE LIGHTING--KEEP YOUR HANDS OUT OF THE WAY! TOO MUCH UNNECESSARY TALKING.

    Just remember that the Mosburg is a piece of shit and you have to use your barrel to slam your assembly I mean trigger assembly back into place if not good luck with your bruised knuckles
