It's not what some may think: a cute cat from the nature. It is an entirely different species that regards you as a threat and your pets as prey if they are small enough. Your cat is a smart cat.
It is extremely unlikely that a bobcat will attack a human. Bobcats are opportunistic hunters. If bobcats are known to be in the area, keep cats indoors and supervise small dogs when they are in the yard, as they may be vulnerable.

Who by the way still loves blood....mainly my roommates parakeets, you would think after 5 she would quit getting new ones lol.
Friendly my butt. Looking and what they do are two different things. Big cats look beautiful and cute but their nature is to attack and I don't blame them.
Not really. I used to think that , but we lived for years in an area that had big populations of them and cougars, and the bobcats were around a lot, but it was rare to catch sight of a cougar.
That's a characteristic even in domesticated cats that signals potential prey is in sight. My indoor kitty does it watching birds through the window...that and twitch her whiskers! 😜
Wow, what a gorgeous creature, so elegant and supremely confident. And at the same time so pretty that one really wants to pet it (after making sure the local hospital has an ample supply of the right blood type available, hehe). i was camping in Colorado and was awakened by soft rroww growls outside the tent. I pulled back the flap and surprised a couple of 'cats' a couple of feet away. One was a white domestic cat and the other, I assumed, was her bobcat kit that was almost as big as mommy

I have seen a bob cat in the wild only twice, both times they did not care about people's presents.. which why they can be a dangerous animal in the wrong situation. Amazing shots of that cat.. you're were blessed to see that.
@@coolcat6303 - not sure I would consider a domesticated cat "large". A bobcat is more than capable of killing his cat and his cat seems to agree based on its reaction. While I do agree with you that it isn't overly likely. It's also not a chance I would take with one of my pets just so they could have "outside time". Besides, if he has a bobcat in the area that is that healthy. I guarantee he has coyotes and others in the area that would be more that happy to and very capable of making his cat dinner. Indoor only time for that cat imo.
@@Rhaenarys - the only animal I mentioned was a domesticated cat. Additionally the only pet we know the poster owns for certain based on this video is a domesticated cat. Which is, at a minimum, allowed outside at least sometimes. Oh and it wasn't long ago we thought a healthy full grown bull elephant had nothing to fear from lions.... *shrug*
Nah that's not the same quality of life as if they can roam free. City maybe I could see that but if there is some nature around they'll be much happier.
Beautiful. To respond to another comment, keep in mind that we've encroached over just about everywhere "predators" operate so killing them to solve our issues with them is a pretty selfish perspective. This channel emphasizes providing for all those living in their local ecosystem for everyone's benefit.
No, I never had and have no true understanding of what that's like. It must be quite isolating and makes you focus on very different things than I. I offered no judgments, just observations and another perspective.

Back in the 70s and 60s and 80s ,and of course earlier, These cats would run around the Elysian Park area in the center of Los Angeles ( Dodgers Stadium). Every once in a while the female pet cats in the neighborhood would come up pregnant and their offspring would have little or no tales, people would wonder why.
Don't think bobcats can cross with felis domesticus. The people are probably seeing Manx crosses. But it would be very cool to have a large, tail-less domestic.
They can indeed cross-breed. One of my friends growing up had a wild-looking "kitten" they found out in the fields. Loved to tackle soccer and volleyballs while we were playing a game. He quickly grew to fit his name, Maximus, at around 25 pounds of muscle; golden tabby markings but a shortened tall, tufted ears, and long sideburns all marked his wild ancestors. The neighborhood dogs were all terrified of him, he had free reign of his territory.

She looks very young and is not the least bit worried about you.
TheFuzzieWuzzie oh she’s very cautious and exited fast with the noise - because it’s not familiar
its hearing was not very good else it would have picked him up immediately on the verandah as he filmed, so quite likely an old bobcat.
It’s a beautiful cat, but she is one lethal kitty. Time to keep your pets inside.
Look at that guy, slinkin' around like he owns the place! Seriously, what a magnificent beast! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you. If you feel it's really good, please share it. Yes. Those cats are beautiful.
Omg gorgeous cat
3:24 Bobcat hears human blowing farts and leaves. Smart cat.
Chester Micek, That's what we call good ol' animal repellent! Work's every time!

Very special seeing a beautiful bobcat. A few years ago we were blessed having a female with kittens😻💞💝

How wonderful and beautiful to be blessed to see some thing like this. What a gorgeous wild cat. Thank you for sharing this.
my cat sat next to me staring intently at the screen the whole video, doing her cute little chirrup sound every time the bobcat looked up. Think she found her next boyfriend lol.
LOL that must have been so cute I would have loved to see that!
@@kapperoutdoors Thank you, she is my little Vampyre - Named her that because when I found her she was 4 weeks old and when I picked her up she bit my thumb and then proceeded to suck the blood because she was so hungry. Nursed her with formula for the next 6 weeks, got the bot fly larva out of her jaw, and managed after 3 months to finally get rid of all the different infections. She is now a healthy loving girl. Who by the way still loves blood....mainly my roommates parakeets, you would think after 5 she would quit getting new ones lol.
So sweet))))

Reality is that your cat would be dinner.
“Why is that silly human making those ridiculous noises?!?”
Thanks for this terrific video of such a beautiful cat.

Liked the freeze frame while bob is looking up. Love the bobcat and don't let her eat your kitty. lol
On the freeze frame I thought it was buffering for a second lol

Aaarrrr! That close up! What a beautiful face!
Agreed!
Awesome. She looks like she's smiling! When a domestic cat looks at you, with eyes like that, it's a friendly cat.
Friendly my butt. Looking and what they do are two different things. Big cats look beautiful and cute but their nature is to attack and I don't blame them.
Very Rare to see a Bobcat in the daytime. Rather bold little cat.
Thanx for filming it.
It must be hungry for feeding its young
I just read the aforementioned post.. and it was my thoughts exactly...probably hungry
tree Climbing it’s not rare at all
Not really. I used to think that , but we lived for years in an area that had big populations of them and cougars, and the bobcats were around a lot, but it was rare to catch sight of a cougar.
Beautiful colors. I always click my tongue to “talk” to wild animals, interesting how it usually calms them down.
The look said: "You can't fool me. You're not a goose."
Now..this is a really Gorgeous and a beautiful wild cat!!
I'd love to travel to the USA just to experience the wildlife.
I'd have a pet EVERYTHING if I were a rural resident!
All the best from New Zealand.
a wild Bobcat is not optimal for petting.... (grins)
I know lol... I was like someone plans to return home a few limbs shy...
@@jamieott3093 maybe that's why God gave us two of most things and ten of the smaller things, heh heh :)
Trying to pet the wildlife in Canada or the United States isn't a good idea! Down right dangerous as a matter of fact.
New Zealand is beautiful! I'd love to go there! I'm sure you have some awesome wildlife in the countryside as well!
Absolutely beautiful. Oh, that face. I could fall in love with it a thousand times.
lol no doubt! They are such beautiful wild cats!! Thanks
Its only 4” long but that tail be a twitching looking at those geese lol
Sam oh, was that some penis innuendo? Yeah but mine wags much faster...
Look at her, wiggling her cute little tail 😊
That's a characteristic even in domesticated cats that signals potential prey is in sight. My indoor kitty does it watching birds through the window...that and twitch her whiskers! 😜
Wow, what a gorgeous creature, so elegant and supremely confident. And at the same time so pretty that one really wants to pet it (after making sure the local hospital has an ample supply of the right blood type available, hehe).
You guys are living the life ... pond with geese, other pets, and in beautiful nature.
[ Dislikes are cats who wished they had that size whenever mommy decides it's time for a bath. ]
you are right! Beautiful creatures. I know if you haven't seen it you would love the bobcat kits I came across! Please share them both, the cats and us appreciate it! Here it is:

Beautiful cat, beautiful markings.
Incredible footage! I love watching the tail wag as the Bobcat sights the geese on the pond. Funny how you can see the anxiety and excitement in their tails whereas the rest of their body remains still and composed, in wild and domestic(house) cats.

Two kinds of cats there. One is cool and one is a fraidy.

Bobcats and floppas are the only 2 big cats I can think of whos face doesn't make me anxious. The just look like the standard cat model

Beautiful!! Glad your not trying to kill it
As a dedicated hunter myself, there is/was no reason to do so. The vast majority of us hunters aren’t mindless killers. I enjoy observing bears, wildcats, and other charismatic fauna just as much as I enjoy harvesting deer for the freezer.
man for a bobcat he sure as hell lookin FRESH
i was camping in Colorado and was awakened by soft rroww growls outside the tent. I pulled back the flap and surprised a couple of 'cats' a couple of feet away. One was a white domestic cat and the other, I assumed, was her bobcat kit that was almost as big as mommy
Xcris crosX domestic cats don't have bobcat kittens lmao

yeah, I'm glad she knows that those 'wild cats' are dangerous!!! thanks
I have seen a bob cat in the wild only twice, both times they did not care about people's presents.. which why they can be a dangerous animal in the wrong situation. Amazing shots of that cat.. you're were blessed to see that.
Absolutely gorgeous. Had one in my yard the other night, 2seconds on the trail cam
Beautiful and dangerous, but such a force of nature deserves some reverence. I would keep your animals inside.
Stargrazer Horse They’re not that big so they’re only dangerous to small animals. Humans & large animals have no need to fear them.
@@coolcat6303 Bobcats prey on house cats. I learned that the hard way!
@@martinsharrett1872 good thing they clearly said small animals would need to fear, not humans and big animals, assuming like horses.
@@Rhaenarys - the only animal I mentioned was a domesticated cat. Additionally the only pet we know the poster owns for certain based on this video is a domesticated cat. Which is, at a minimum, allowed outside at least sometimes.

Keep your cat indoors. This and traffic is how they "disappear".
And coyotes too.

Beautiful. To respond to another comment, keep in mind that we've encroached over just about everywhere "predators" operate so killing them to solve our issues with them is a pretty selfish perspective. This channel emphasizes providing for all those living in their local ecosystem for everyone's benefit.
Suburbs but grew up in a less populated area
No, I never had and have no true understanding of what that's like. It must be quite isolating and makes you focus on very different things than I. I offered no judgments, just observations and another perspective.
Thanks. Everyone has different life perspectives for sure..
@@extremegardening8440 Sign me up (living in your world) and isn't it funny how we can get along when everyone is on the same board (mind set) not like the city of melting and bleeding special interest groups that are so poorly accepted which is bs.
The way they walk, so confident and graceful
Back in the 70s and 60s and 80s ,and of course earlier, These cats would run around the Elysian Park area in the center of Los Angeles ( Dodgers Stadium). Every once in a while the female pet cats in the neighborhood would come up pregnant and their offspring would have little or no tales, people would wonder why.
Don't think bobcats can cross with felis domesticus. The people are probably seeing Manx crosses. But it would be very cool to have a large, tail-less domestic.
@@Bob_Adkins They can cross-breed.
@@littleredhen8205 That sounds like my Chausie/Manx cat. He is about 25 lbs. I am pretty sure bobcat crossbreeds are not possible without human interference.
Yup.
"Stubbs" was the product of one such crossbreeding, in East Texas. No human intervention.
Absolutely beautiful animal. Amazing that this was caught on tape.
