Thank you so much for these exercises - as I always feel a tightness in my chest. I am senior and I "sit" at my computer most of the day and my posterior is "slumped over" my keyboard. I had a bad episode of acid reflux, and took baking soda which caused me to vomit up my food.
I was burping like crazy during these. Amazing. Anything for esophageal spasms/tightness? I'm sure it's probably anxiety-related but the acid reflux hasn't helped. I don't want to take meds again after Nexium caused serious damage to me. 😨 Thank you for this! ❤️

@@shanesnyder7359 It sounds like your magnesium, B12, and/or calcium might be off. See if a doctor will thoroughly check them for you. Not just blood levels, but serum as well. I had those things gradually go down until I had terrible heart issues. Then my bones started deteriorating. Fomatadine is Pepcid and I don't know if you're on an SSRI or SNRI like Zoloft or Effexor or similar, but it can cause potassium and magnesium issues if you are, causing muscle spasms. The biggest helps for me have been cutting fat, cholesterol, and acidic foods and the occasional "orange burps" it's called. It's just orange oil capsules and it works well, surprisingly.
Thanks for the comment! Yes … sciatica is set to be the topic of the next video! The number of sciatic cases has soared recently … so you have any issues with your neck or shoulders? Take care and stay tuned!
I can't wait to try these. Oddly, silent reflux noticeably started for me after getting a piece of ice stuck in my throat. Some time later, I was coughing in a bad position for my stomach muscles and felt something briefly painful in my diaphragm almost like a little rip or tear. That seemed to make it all worse. I've now pulled a muscle in my rib and have had an almost constant sour taste in my mouth for over a week. I'm thinking that my muscles etc must be weak so I'm glad I found this. This may be TMI but maybe it'll give you ideas for some more videos. Any recommendations?
Hey for the first exercise, do you first breath into your abdominal region with your nose, then breath again and redirect the air into the chest and then breath again to lift your rib cage, all without exhaling? After you are done you then slowly exhale, is that right? Moreover, do you intentionally lift your rib cage at the end or should the body do that by its own? And is it right to feel a slight pressure in your chest due to the excessive breathing when doing the task and being at the maximum of capacity?
Thanks for the support! Yes - I would imagine so long as you listen to your body and don’t continue anything that is very painful, these techniques should be ok. Of course, as with any doubts regarding exercises / techniques to assist the body please consult with your doctor. Take care - CW 👍🏻

Do you think that these exercises and the breathing technique could improve an already loose LES?

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Lots of love ❤ from Arizona 🏜️

Did it work for you?
Thank you so much for these exercises - as I always feel a tightness in my chest. I am senior and I "sit" at my computer most of the day and my posterior is "slumped over" my keyboard. I had a bad episode of acid reflux, and took baking soda which caused me to vomit up my food.
Thanks for the support - Sorry to hear of your discomfort.
I hope these have helped.
Take care - CW 👍🏻
I was burping like crazy during these. Amazing. Anything for esophageal spasms/tightness? I'm sure it's probably anxiety-related but the acid reflux hasn't helped. I don't want to take meds again after Nexium caused serious damage to me. 😨
Thank you for this! ❤️
Hi Angie … thanks for the feedback … there’s some more content coming very soon to help with the esophageal spasms and strength of voice / cough!!
Thanks for the support … stay tuned 👍🏻
Hi Angie, what problems did Nexium cause you? I was taking protonix for about a month and now I have lost a ton of weight which is not the direction I want to be going and I seem to have nerve spasms muscle spasms. I went off of that drug and tried taking some famotidine and did not have any better outcomes. I am currently taking sulcrafate to ease my gastritis.
Me too! Anyone know why?
Angie ,what kind of damage did the medicine cause u? Bc the Dr recently put me on that medicine.
Can you please suggest exercise for throat clearing, mucus. Feeling the throat is closed up. Sore throat, discomfort in front of neck.
Many thanks x
Amazing job on this.. I have been looking for this for a long time.. THANK YOU!

Thanks because you relieve my acid reflux ❤
I can't wait to try these. Oddly, silent reflux noticeably started for me after getting a piece of ice stuck in my throat. Some time later, I was coughing in a bad position for my stomach muscles and felt something briefly painful in my diaphragm almost like a little rip or tear. That seemed to make it all worse. I've now pulled a muscle in my rib and have had an almost constant sour taste in my mouth for over a week. I'm thinking that my muscles etc must be weak so I'm glad I found this. This may be TMI but maybe it'll give you ideas for some more videos. Any recommendations?
Thank you for the feedback … a new video on throat exercises will follow shortly … keep practicing the breathing in the meantime!
Take care 👍🏻
How are you now? Did the exercises help?
@@challengephysio did you ever do the video for throat muscle exercises?
Would love to know if you have made a video for silent reflux? Please do share a link.
Thank you for this video which explains the best way to fix the Acid reflux with exercise. I just hope this works .

Hi
Great video
Please let me know can i do it with hiatas hernia and Gerd symptoms?
Thanks for the support!
Yes - I would imagine so long as you listen to your body and don’t continue anything that is very painful, these techniques should be ok.
Of course, as with any doubts regarding exercises / techniques to assist the body please consult with your doctor.

I had an endoscopy recently and was shown an image of my LES. It looked very obviously lax. Easy to see why acid is making its way to my esophagus.
I should mention that I drive for a living and my posture is pretty lousy and I can get pretty worked up from the go-go-go nature of the job.
Do you think that these exercises and the breathing technique could improve an already loose LES?
Thanks for the comment …
Whether the exercises have a direct impact on the sphincter or not, I’d imagine they would really benefit you and improve / alleviate your symptoms.
Good luck 👍🏻
Ho I wish I’d had these exercises and advice about 20 years ago, instead of my Dr giving me PPIs! I was on Rabeprazole for over 20 years until I read about all the harm they do. I stopped taking them just over a year ago and have been eating extremely carefully. I feel so much better now and I’m sure I’ll feel even better now I’ve found you and your exercises! Bless you for all this amazing help and a huge thank you 🙏
Fantastic news!!! Well done and keep going ... take care!
Thanks for the stretching exercises to work on the diaphragm. Mostly night I get burping, belching and breathlessness which messes up my sleep. Hardly able to sleep for 3 hours every night. I am not overweight and follow strict diet. Any advise.
You would benefit greatly from a structured breathing exercise programme … specifically on increasing the breath out … more content will follow shortly addressing this … take care and thanks for the support 👍🏻

Consider identifying your trigger foods with an elimination diet like the FODMAP diet.
Then work on restoring your gut lining and bacterial balance with a Gut repair process.

Hii, How much days we have to do excercises and how much days it will take to cure acid reflux
Please tell when to do these exercises before meal or after meal? How many times? From where to get that ball you used?
I would try both ... before and after ... just a couple of repetitions of each ... and if no small ball simply use your hand / fingertips ... good luck 👍🏻

Is it common to get burps during these exercises? I get a lot of them. I have GERD and have been suffering since 2 years. Will that help with GERD issue if I do these exercises for long term?
Also, will it help reduce the excess acid formation?

It's day 2 for me and the difference already is night and day. I drank my first coffee in weeks, just to make verify there really is improvement in such short notice. I had to paint the roof of my house forcing me to stand tall and breathe in. During this week, I noticed my gerd was gone. Then I had to go back to my sitting job and noticed the gerd returning. It didn't make sence why, but after watching this video it makes a lot of sense. I tried ACV which made thing unbearable at night, then I tried these exercices and it really works. I can not thank you enough.
Are you cured permanently?
Amazing! Thank you for the comment! It’s great to hear how it’s helped you.

@@prachireja5327 yes, I mainly focused on stretching my shoulders and correct my posture (I had rounded shoulders) by keeping my shoulders back and sit up straight instead of slouched. This alone fixed it for 90% for me.
You are not going to believe this.........I've had really bad gerd for over a year now. Most of the time I also get spasms in my lower abdomen, similar to hiccups. It's so annoying. Can't sleep etc. Difficult to exercise. I've had them(spasms hiccups from GERD)this time for over a day and a half. I watched this video, tried the simple first exercise, and my spasms / hiccups went away immediately after the first or second deep breath. Fist came a big dry heave. Then gone!! Unbelievable! This absolutely works! What a relief. Thanks so much

i get severe breathing difficulty when i lie down. it's only recently after two years that a doctor suggested it was caused by reflux .. anyone else have this?
it would make many of the exercises here impractical, as it's especially bad when lying on my back.
Thanks for your question and sorry to hear that the symptoms are worse when lying down. This is very common and as the video suggests, don't feel restricted to doing the exercises laid down - you can apply the principles in all other postures, however they may be a bit harder to get going.
Hope that helps!

Hey Rob just wondering how many reps/sets you'd recommend of the breaths and how many times a day? Thanks!
Hey Michael … thanks for the message … there’s no magic number here … in truth, most people will get most out of these techniques if they chip away at them throughout the day and break up their daily postural habits that are likely to be causing the issues.
So go on the basis of little / few reps, as often as possible.
