I love seeing my city being explored. Minneapolis and MN in general have so much to offer if you are into exploring. I especially love our state parks and taking the scenic route up north Route 61 is amazing to me.
You are in my neighborhood, and I walk my dog by the Stone Arch Bridge every day. The water is running high because of all the rain we've gotten this summer.
I used to live in the cities (people in Minnesota call Minneapolis and St Paul the cities, not the twin cities) and never knew the cherry and spoon was a water fountain, haha. If you are still in Minnesota, I hope you go up to Duluth! A lot of cool things to see there.

Stay out of the neighborhoods south of downtown and north of Broadway. Phillips is really bad. The air is leaded from Smith foundry deciding laws are optional. Check out the lakes area, Harriet island, Minnehaha, mill quarter, Walker art, the gangster tunnels and gay 90s.
Great video! It's so cool to see my adopted home town through a fresh set of eyes! I even saw my vehicle parked at the Bob Dylan lot on 5th and Hennepin as I often work in the Lumber Exchange Building across the tracks from the parking lot. There is so much to see and do in the Cities and in Minnesota in general. I agree with the other comments about visiting our awesome state parks or driving up to Duluth (another great city with lots to do) and north on Highway 61 along Lake Superior.
The 1st bridge is the Hennepin Avenue bridge. The big one with all of the arches is the 3rd Avenue bridge. It just re-opened after 3 years of renovations. The Stone Arch Bridge, as I'm sure you discovered, is closed on that side of the river for renovations this year. I work about a block away from the "power plant", which is actually a steam plant that heats many of the University of Minnesota buildings, among other things. I drive through that area every day.

It's sad I've lived in the TC metro for ~15 years of my adult life, 10 of which being within a few miles of DT Minneapolis, and never been to some of the spots you hit on your first day (the overlook spot north of the stone arch bridge being the neatest). Cool vid.
Me too.. I'm 40 and live an hour out. However I ( unlike many others that don't live in Mpls) love it.. Groing up over in Saint Paul I'd take the city bus in my teen years just to roam around Minneapolis. I only get there for concerts now. However we always make a day of it !
Yeah, we should warn her about the bad parts of ''Minneapolis''... I had a van broken into on lake street and they stole my power tools over night when I was wiring up a school for telecom cables... Another time they broke into my comcast truck and smashed my windows and stole the company laptop not far from lake street!!!
Good for you! I spent 9 hours in that area on the night of July 4th into the morning of July 5th. That mist isn't from the power plant. It is from the largest (maybe the only) falls on the entire Mississippi River.
Thanks so much. You could not be any more transparent/authentic. I just went back and watched all your videos in under 4 days. The spoon and cherry are by Claes Oldenburg. I remember the umbrella statue in downtown DSM where I grew up. You got a quick view of the Grain Belt sign on the bridge. One of the coolest old signs there! There’s a place called St Anthony Main Street. Check it out. Also check out Lake Street in Uptown lots of cool stuff. My son did an internship at a hospital there and he loved it.

Traveling on to the waterfall was a great way to end your video. 😊. Looking forward to seeing where you take us next week…. Take care and enjoy your travels! 💕
Hey there, I’m currently homeless and pregnant in my car in Minneapolis.. I stay around Maplewood and Harriet island.. As fun as this video looks, night time is scary.. money makes it easier.. I eat once a day and it’s because my partner works at McDonald’s… Bless your heart.. but man.. it’s not this easy and fun.. I’m always hot and stressed from the crime that happens around my car at night:: even if I stay in the parking ramp.
I live by the U. Right off the Mississippi river about a mile and a half from stone arch. They just did the 4th fireworks off of that bridge. I was at the bridge by the food trucks watching. Just incredible, but anyway, theres some walking paths that go down to the waters edge on the other side of the Mississippi than the power plans stuff. If your still in town. Really cool stuff.
Welcome to Minnesota!! Lots of cool stuff to see in the twin cities!!! SO have u been to the mall of america too? You outta check out fort snelling state park too. Are u still in Minnesota? I know of tons of cool restaurants!!! Do u still doordash, I dash in st paul MN all the time, well more like the suburbs and outskirts of the citys, I dont go downtown unless a catering order is involved!
Just a note on Minnehaha Falls: the Dakota name, Mnigaga, is a compound word - Mni- means ‘water,’ and gaga means - ‘curling’ or together mnigaga - ‘waterfall.’ The translation ‘laughing waters’ is incorrect. Minnehaha Falls just means 'waterfall falls'.
Christine, your ears must have been burning. I was just thinking about you about an hour ago. Fancy that! Thank you for the video. Hope all is going good.
You missed a real opportunity to explore uptown Minneapolis. Only blocks away from the walker art sculpture garden, there's Sebastian Joe's Ice cream.. but rather you drove back to Northside and got Cherry Garcia from whole foods..
You always find the coolest sights like the spoon bridge and cherry which are the sorts of things I love finding on adventures! I laughed out loud at "vegan magicians" but that jerky looked so real and the cheese looked so delicious 😄
@@suzy7773 I know the Minneapolis area. How many times were you asked for money or cigarettes? By the river in south Minneapolis is pretty and the homes are expensive but the history of tragedy is well known among young male college students.
@@suzy7773 Minneapolis SE streets and Aves are pretty safe if you can find an overnight spot that wont tow you. The industrial area around Stinson and Broadway is pretty safe as there is no housing or busing nearby at night.
If you are still in the area, drive up 35 to Duluth and then north shore, Gooseberry Falls etc. Beautiful scenery, good brews and grub in Duluth. I wouldn’t suggest living in a can in MN January tho…🥶
My brothers family lives there I live south in Rochester. You should check out Duluth next its beautiful on the north shore. Check Out the Med City if you come to Rochester I can cook for you👍
You can do better than Aldi for produce or other food to go, that's for sure. Try Seward Coop on Franklin Ave, one of our other coops, Byerly's, Whole Foods, or Kawalkski's. Enjoy your time here :-)
Not sure where you are going but i like Duluth and the stretch up to the Canada border. Also very nice weather along there (cool) because of lake superior. You seem too normal to live in a vehicle.

Agree!😃
The spoon and cherry are by Claes Oldenburg. I remember the umbrella statue in downtown DSM where I grew up.
You got a quick view of the Grain Belt sign on the bridge. One of the coolest old signs there!
There’s a place called St Anthony Main Street. Check it out.
Also check out Lake Street in Uptown lots of cool stuff. My son did an internship at a hospital there and he loved it.
Beautiful representation of our city. I live in Bloomington, MN, not too far from the Mall of America.
Oh cool! 😎That's a good tip! 😃 Thank you! 🙏🏼
The waterfall was a good spot to smoke at night.
Another amazing video and more scenery to look at. Thank you Christine for showing us around Minneapolis! ❤❤

Spoonbridge and cherry is by famous pop artist Claes Oldenburg apparently.
Gorgeous little watermelon! Bet it was really yummy and a great addition to your picnic lunch!
Have never been to
Minnesota so thoroughly enjoyed traveling with you! Light show was lovely.✅. Traveling on to the waterfall was a great way to end your video. 😊. Looking forward to seeing where you take us next week…. Take care and enjoy your travels! 💕

There's a lot to do here in the summer!
Love that you visited! I've lived in the MSP area all my life.
Oh, cool! 😎Thank you for watching! 🙏🏼
Hey there, I’m currently homeless and pregnant in my car in Minneapolis.. I stay around Maplewood and Harriet island..
As fun as this video looks, night time is scary.. money makes it easier.. I eat once a day and it’s because my partner works at McDonald’s…
Bless your heart.. but man.. it’s not this easy and fun.. I’m always hot and stressed from the crime that happens around my car at night:: even if I stay in the parking ramp.
Have you tried car camping?
You can walk across the stone arch bridge.
Also the hb has a food truck and a deli where you can buy all their products made into great sandwiches and fried “chicken” sandwiches
Thanks for watching and commenting! 😃🙏🏼
That cheese did look delicious!!
So glad the deliciousness was portrayed! 😆😋
Your videos are such a joy to watch.
Aww! Thank you so much!!! 🙏🏼💫
Hi! 😃👋🏼 Mall of america is on the go-to list! Thanks for watching and commenting! 😃🙏🏼
My home town! Welcome❤
Thank you! 😃
Thanks for sharing, Christine. Your videos are great fun :)
Glad you like them!
God bless you for your courage 🙏👍
Thank you so much!!! 😃🙏🏼
What a fun day, that vegan food looks so good wow!!
So good!!
Aww! Thank you so much!!! 🙏🏼💫Best wishes to you, too! 😃
So glad the deliciousness was portrayed! 😆😋 🧙♂️🤷♀️Yum! 😋
@@ChristineMeachum 😂🤣
Aldi is pronounces Eye-Dee in Germany. That wasn't a super safe neighborhood to sleep in.
@@suzy7773 You camped around Park/Portland and 34th St... why?
I wish I had a Sister like YOU. I am still binge watching up to 7 months ago ❤
Aww! Thank you so much!!! 🙏🏼💫
If you are still in the area, drive up 35 to Duluth and then north shore, Gooseberry Falls etc.
Beautiful scenery, good brews and grub in Duluth.
I wouldn’t suggest living in a can in MN January tho…🥶
Love watching you smiling and having fun😅
Aww! Thank you so much!!! 🙏🏼💫Thanks for watching and commenting! 😃🙏🏼
I would love it if you could go over your vehicle again and sleeping spot 😀♥️
Wow! Beautiful city!
Thank you for watching! 🙏🏼
Good location choices, check out the lakes and Northeast next time.
Thanks!
how crazy is it that the mississipi river is in minnesota?
I live in Minnesota. My summer plans visiting the Start of the Mississippi...Lake Itasca. I also travel in my van.
Right!?! 😃
What⁉️It begins in MN with its headwaters at Itasca State Park.
Why is it crazy?
My brothers family lives there I live south in Rochester. You should check out Duluth next its beautiful on the north shore. Check Out the Med City if you come to Rochester I can cook for you👍
Thanks Christine great video
You are welcome! 🙏🏼Thanks for watching! 😃🙏🏼
Another fun video! I like that rooster! Hope you’re having a great time where ever you are!
Yay! Thanks for watching! 😃🙏🏼
Very beautiful 😻❤️
Thanks for another excellent video.
So glad you like it! 😃 Thanks for watching and commenting! 😃🙏🏼
You can do better than Aldi for produce or other food to go, that's for sure. Try Seward Coop on Franklin Ave, one of our other coops, Byerly's, Whole Foods, or Kawalkski's. Enjoy your time here :-)
be careful, i live in white bear lake. car jackings have skyrocketed in Minneapolis in the last few years
Thanks to those in charge that allow it
Yeah I live in Minneapolis and y'all gullible and need to stop watching right wing propaganda.
Not sure where you are going but i like Duluth and the stretch up to the Canada border. Also very nice weather along there (cool) because of lake superior. You seem too normal to live in a vehicle.
Yesss!! Again!!
