  • Rochester, N.Y. - The leader of United Christian Leadership Ministry of Western New York wants to make sure Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley is held accountable for her behavior.
Body camera footage from April 22 showed Doorley berating a Webster police officer who followed her home to make a traffic stop after she refused to pull over when she was caught speeding on Phillips Road.
"Why do we need a new DA?" asked UCLM President Dwight Fowler. "It is because we need someone who not only knows the law but is also willing to live by the law, enforce the law and not seek favors to circumvent the law."

@@AFAskygoddessThat’s incorrect. She can be removed from office for cause by the state AG and possibly the Governor. Wouldn’t that qualify as being fired? • @AFAskygoddess

@ProudCapitalist-ko9ff, not really disagreeing with you, except our definition of "fired", which to me is a swift termination that may be done without a formal investigation, especially in right to work states. To those who may not understand why this is such a big deal - if any member of the public in the USA has an encounter with a law enforcement officer, then the expectation is that he or she needs to comply with the officer's every whim and fancy, no matter how absurd. For the vast majority of citizens, failure to do this will almost certainly involve being the victim of some sort of ritualistic humiliation, the threat of physical assault (often involving some sort of offensive weapon), an actual physical (or sexual) assault, physical restraint and jail. The internet is virtually awash with video footage providing evidence of this. Its an awful, abusive policing system, which has been decades and decades in the making, and is wide open to abuse. It can ruin lives, and can even get innocent people killed. Many people adopt various strategies to try to avoid or at least cope with this situation. Doorley's strategy involved the idea that she holds a position in society which makes her exempt from all this nonsense. In a way her strategy was successful - she was not investigated for DUI, and she was not restrained, she was not assaulted, arrested, and carted off to jail for fleeing from police. I believe she fully expected the local Sheriff to bury the video footage.

The police should be admonished as well, letting her get away with this without being handcuffed or perhaps tased like they would do to anyone else

And the chief too for letting her get a pass on the fleeing charge. He conspired with her to circumnavigate the law. That's corruption. He and Doorley both should be removed from their positions.

Should have been arrested that day since any other person would have. Then the police chief publicly says he's proud how his police dept handled the situation. No you should be embarrassed

The only thing controversial is she wasn’t arrested for evading….anyone else would have been cuffed and charged. She wasn’t and it exposes a double standard in the law.

I agree with the "DOCTOR". She obviously has broken the law and should be removed from office and her supporters should be called out and identified. But I also believe that all criminals need to be charged for the crimes they commit. Doc may not agree with that. We'll see.
