    I appreciate you clearing that up. This video helped to address alot of questions that I had in mind. I'll be sure to check out the bandpass tutorials.

    for a mini theatre at home.. which order enclosure would you suggest !??
    fact to be added is that I love heavy Bass.. please help and suggest me 🤔

    • @BudgetBassHead
      @BudgetBassHead  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If my heavy base you mean lower frequency base than I would say a simple base reflex enclosure should do you just fine.

  • @Curi0u50ne

    (All those car owner comments)You don’t need a massive circumference woofer to create great signal, it all about getting a balance with the cone movement and the ported air direction to be in phase….for starters

  • @metalrott324

    You need a passive radiator for the first chamber for a truly tunable 8th order.

    BudgetBassHead I'm listening and watching what you are showing me, but it's way over my head. Your visual is excellent and I'm getting those "ahhh!! I got moment", until the video stop. I have some (4 10") woofers that I would like to put in a 4th order bandpass. The seals box spec is .59cuft and the ported box specs is 2cuft. Are those specs suppose to be combine? I would like more info on the 6th and 8th order calculations as well as the acoustic chambers. If you have time also how small can you make the boxes with how much polyfoam.

    So you choosen a 8th for the future build. I see numbers speaking to mw that you have already done the math and got the frequency ranges to build

    Man I wanna build a 6th order bandpass box for my 15 so bad but that would not fit in my Honda’s trunk 😂 I’ve been bumpin 5 years on a pre fab. Love my sub it’s done very well, I need to put it in a high end enclosure

    Im trying to build 8th order bass reflex or 6th order bass reflex with 12" 350wrms woofer. I dont know where to start and what app should i use. I want it to perform it in 30hz upto 80hz. Since i need to fit it in a limited space and my previously L ported box with the same woofer can't satisfies me. I watched ur sound test about 6th order bandpass, the A milli works good in my L ported but ur 6th order seems better.

    So camp a are the ones who just kind of glossed over some info , and said yep, I know it all.
    While camp b is those who have studied and understand it.
    By camp a's methods 2 drivers in a sealed enclosure would be a 4th order, which we know ain't so, or would they consider it a 5th order, 2 orders for each speaker another order for the enclosure.
    I think the best way to look it is in terms of wave manipulation. A sealed box technically does not manipulate the wave as it contains it. A sealed box firing into a sealed box is also technically a 2nd order enclosure, as both sides are firing into a contained infinity. Introducing a port to that second sealed enclosure would then add 2 orders as the enclosure would no longer have equal containment so there is no opposite to sustain that infinite relation making the enclosure a wave manipulation device(another order)and the port yet another making it a 4th order. Since we are firing through a port we are now bandwidth limited making it a band pass.
    Where as a ported enclosure firing into another ported enclosure would be a 6th order bass reflex.
    You know this though.
    I have built a 6th parallel tuned order band pass for a pair of 10"mtx's back in the day, like early 90's. That box was loud and actually clean for a band pass. We were only feeding 50 watts into each sub and you could hear it for over a half mile, But you had to have the trunk cracked. With the trunk closed it sounded like a pair of good 8's, but once you hit the trunk pop it pounded like 15's with about 150-200 going to them. I dabble in home and car audio now (more home,2ch) from time to time. I'd like to do it full time but.... anyway.
    I have been tempted to make a 6th order bass reflex for some old 12" JBL car audio subs. I was thinking of going Isobaric to help get the size down some. I just don't know how to model one. Right now they are running in a shared 4ish cu.ft. enclosure tuned to around 32 hz. I was thinking of tuning it to 18 and 36hz to and going from there(the fs of the drivers is 27.4hz). I just don't know how much volume to use for the enclosures. I have the basic T/S specs. for the driver, but can not find any formulas or free modeling software that will model anything past a 4th order bass reflex.
    Much love, love the videos. I think they are a little wordy sometimes, but hey, your just making sure you are being clear. Good job, keep it up.

    Do you know how to calculate the port area per cu ft on the outside port in a 6th order series bandpass? Would you use the total box size since the inside port is using the outside port as well or would you only use the 2nd chamber size? Thanks for the vids.

    • @BudgetBassHead
      @BudgetBassHead  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. Port displacement is always 'displacement. Never calculate it as part of the internal volume.

    this might sound dumb but is there such thing as a 6th order t-line

    • @BudgetBassHead
      @BudgetBassHead  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure. Kinda wasteful to build, to be honest. But yes, you could tune and position a transmission line any way you like. You could place it internally or have it as the exiting chamber/line. But you could probably get better results with something less complicated.
