Great review! I have a friend who tends to get irritated/flare up after shaving, and have started using this skinguard razor these past few months, it really does help with the irritation! I strongly recommend!
Great review Sharp. They do a skinguard disposable which is basically a sensor 3 with the middle blade swapped out for a guiding comb. It's actually a really good shave. Just reminds you how good the old sensor razor was.
The Sensor was what I used to use. My quest started when that got phased out really. Thanks as always for the comment. Maybe the disposable is the one to get. That might have been the one @desperatedan meant. Cheers !
Excellent review! I have been using the Skinguard on my old, tired skin since it came out. (I have been shaving since 1966). I agree it is not as close as other Gillettes. For every 2-3 of my daily shaves, I switch to a 5-blade Proglide. I would like to see more shaving reviews with blades that have been used for 5-7 shaves. With the cost of current blades, especially Gillette, cost/shave is an important factor. I look forward to more of your reviews.
Hi Karl. Thanks for the comment. Sounds like you have a good routine set up. Yes, I do use each blade for 2 weeks before I make the video but then clip a new one in. Yes maybe I could do a set of videos for 'one month in' ... Good idea. Thanks
Thanks for your prompt reply. I have enjoyed your other videos. I especially like that they are not overly long, and that you do indeed use blades that have been used several times! You saved me from buying some Schick disposables; I do like the Hydro 3 and 5. I am also a fan of TOBS, but the lime is likely too irritating for me. I like the Natural and Peppermint. Keep up the great work!!
I use this for my face and a Braun Series 9 for my head. Weird that I get ingrowns on my neck from the Series 9 on my face, but not my head. The Series 9 to me cuts closer to the skin than the Skin Guard. I shave 3 times a week. Personally if one doesn't get ingrowns from a Series 9, go that route, its a closer shave.
Any razor with those lube strips that do absolutely nothing work better with the tin goo, thanks for the demo👍. My top three would be Boldking, Gillette Guard and the Gillette SkinGuard. Presently using the leaf Twig, not cheap and not to be rushed, but gives a fine shave. Cheers🍻🥃
@@sharpshavesNo just saying if it has lube strips tin goo it. Have tried the SkinGuard disposable whilst on travel, but my goto travel razor would have to be the Gillette Guard from India👌
Excellent review. There are also trimmers like Babyliss FX trimmer and Andis Slimline pro li which give a close cut. A comparison review of these with a Gillette skinguard and safety razor would be useful.
@@sharpshaves welcome. There are also replicas of the expensive Babyliss fx trimmer like the Kemei km-i32S which is also very good and costs a fraction. Good luck
I would recommend a Concord 3 piece razor. It is a vintage Gillette Tech clone. It usually runs between $5-$7! I like it for a nice, mild, economical shave! Give it a try! JimG
One thing i have noticed on Gillettes strips is that they dry out much faster than Wilkinsons does...Not ok .....I have tried so many types of razors since the eighties....
Hi and thanks for the comment. In my view, no. I do shave daily and it is never as close as some others. Even if you do a couple of passes. It's designed that way. You'll barely notice and it is a perfectly decent shave but if you want super close then it's not that possible.
Hi there. Yes. Definitely a great option for a teenage lad. It is really forgiving and he won't feel the need for a closer shave until his beard is a bit thicker. Cheers for watching

Cheers for the comment. Yeah. I can see how it would be pretty good if you are prone to rashes and stuff. A well thought out razor I thought.

Cheers Karl. Glad you like them.
And I'll have to look up the TOBS peppermint. Cheers !
the head fits the fusion handles as well
It’s a very good razor to try out shaving your dome. Very safe and doesn’t irritate the skin like the Gillette fusion and similar razors can do.
Cheers ! Not sure I'm going to start on the dome yet but might do it one day for a laugh

Cheers Paul. Braun series 9 sounds good. Maybe due to different hair type how it responds differently on head and neck.

Cheers DD. I've just learnt that there is a SkinGuard disposable. Is that the one you mean? Leaf twig sounds cool !

Have started to use but the blades only are lasting. Only one shave

Thanks for the comment and really useful to have some new suggestions. I'll look into those trimmers and maybe order one. Cheers

Thanks Jim ! I'm going to try and order it now. Sounds great. Cheers for the comment and the idea.
Nice shave and nice strong beard. 🇧🇷
Cheers. Yeah. Fairly course but would be grey if I grew it now !!
Would this be a good razor for a teen boy learning how to shave? Im looking for my boy at the moment. Thanks
Yep. 3 x yes for sure. Cheers
I like the razor but i like Gillette guard one blade razor more as it doesn't pulls beard.

Great review bro. Why dont you show your shaving den to subscribers?
Thanks. I haven't really got one. I just have loads of razors in a big box now !! Maybe I need to build something cool for them all. Cheers. Good idea
So even if I shaved daily with this skin guard razor it still won’t feel as close ?

@@sharpshaves thank you 🙏🏾
Also what camera are you using my wife wants to start a TH-cam page and need help with a good camera the one your using looks great
Ha. You'll laugh. I just stick my phone to the mirror with a double-sided sucker. So it's just the selfie cam. I'm not really a pro !!
😂😂😂😂 these phones are so good nowadays you have us all fooled 😂if I was you I would keep it just like that don’t even change it and waste your money
Sharp. If you take a second go against the grain with this blade you will get a very close shave.
I shave in the shower
Would this be a good razor for a teen boy learning how to shave? Im looking for my boy at the moment. Thanks
Yes deffo

Yes it would be really good. I wish it was around when I started.
