    Thanks for the honest review. I was tempted to purchase the razor 🪒. But! I think I'll stick with the hot towel and/or hot bowl of water. Keep the reviews coming looking forward to you possibly doing a Wilkinson Sword Razor review.🙏

      Yes. Agreed. Good to keep trying new things. Not all of them need to come to market though

      Thanks Daniel. I keep seeing second hand ones for sale and now I know why. It really is a bit of a joke. Nice idea to try in their 'lab' but should never have made it into production. Cheers for the comment

    Purchased this off the back of your review thank you. Excellent close shave but still not seeing any benefit to the heat.

      Hi Rob. Cheers for the comment. Yes, I think it's a bit of a gimmick really. Just as easy to dip your blade in a bowl of hot water.

  • @hassyg4083

    cold water shave is great for people with sensitive skin you don't get razor burns. you're the only reviewer that has said you can get the same effect of this razor by running a razor under hot water. its an over priced gimmick

    • @sharpshaves
      @sharpshaves  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think shaving in the shower is enough to prepare the skin.A heated razor doesnt seen have time to prep the skin/hair-also 5 blades tends to jam up for me-3-4 blades seem to work better for me

    • @sharpshaves
      @sharpshaves  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you're right that the skin needs to be prepared and warm. Ideally a hot towel or shower. I use hot water from the sink. It is key to keep the blade hot too though - and their idea is silly because you have to rinse your blade anyway and hot water does the same as their heater. Totally agree - more blades = more clogging. Cheers for the comment !

    Gillette Mach 3 is still my one and only that I've been using since the 90s. I've tried a few of the others, but the Mach 3 for me goes untouched.

      Curious about the Mach 3 me coming from Harry’s dollar shave club and Amazon basics cartridges. How long does one mach 3 cartridge last? I shave every two days

    A razor maybe worth a try is the Gillette SkinGuard, did give me a fine shave but works better with the tin goo, due to it having a useless lube strip.
    Cheers🍻🥃

    The big corporate manufacturers are driven by ever higher profits so need endless novelty to shift their products. I do use a vintage Sensor occasionally but mostly stick to my Edwin Jagger Diamond DE razor with Feather or Bic blades. Way cheaper than cartridge shaving and in a class if its own.

    • @sharpshaves
      @sharpshaves  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes - they have to keep people into the next greatest thing. Lots of marketing spin for sure. Old school are the best and cheapest for sure. The new single edge razors are finding a good middle ground I think. Thanks for your comment

    • @sharpshaves

      I was looking for the best subscription razor and really like the Boldking. I love the Gillette Guard too. I think you're right though that I don't like many of the 5 blades so I don't use them. How do you find them?

    • @sharpshaves
      @sharpshaves  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes for sure. I use one quite often. The Muhle R89. Check out my video th-cam.com/video/N5iZC38S_ug/w-d-xo.html

      That makes a lot of sense. I'm not a head shaver (yet) but can imagine it would be a bit slow with a safety. Cheers for the comment. Please subscribe if you haven't already.

      Hi there. I am not sure to be honest. I used one for a week no problem. Then swapped it out. I'm not sticking with any single razor long enough to push the cartridges to their limits at the moment.

      Cheers. Glad it was useful. I see so many of these for sale second-hand you can tell that not many people are blown away. Really a solution to a problem that doesn't exist if you have a basin full of hot water.

      @@sharpshaves lol. One question for u if u have a mo: if money was no object would you buy one of these?

    • @sharpshaves
      @sharpshaves  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there. No. Putting cost aside it is really just a gimmick. I used it for a couple of weeks to review it but won't by choice now. The process of shaving involves rinsing your razor in water. If your water is hot then you'll barely notice a difference. It sounds cool which is why people are lured in. It also makes a good father's day present etc but I genuinely think you get a better shave with others eg the exfoliating

      Yes, I shave every day during the week but then sometimes leave it a day or 2 over the weekend. Not sure what you mean by grainy but I've never had any problems with my skin. I think the more you shave the more you get used to it probably.
