  • Whether you're wiring up an entire DIY canopy fitout in your 4WD or simply adding an extra accessory to a simple system, circuit protection is absolutely a non-negotiable.
    Circuit protection systems such as fuses and circuit breakers help keep you safe in the event of cable damage, accidental short circuit, appliance failure and more.
    One benefit of circuit breakers over fuses is lifespan. Unlike a traditional fuse, which is a single use safety device (meaning it can't be reused once it has broken the circuit, or "blown") a circuit breaker can be reset over and over.
    The advantages of a traditional fuse however, include a generally lower price point, simplicity and mounting options. You could sneak a small inline fuse in places you might have more difficulty fitting a full size circuit breaker for example.
    While each have their advantages, both will serve the same purpose and help protect your pride and joy from going up in flames; we have a circuit protection solution for everyone, available on the website below.

    Craig should do all the video's, I don't mind watching his video's and he explains everything very well. There is a guy doing your scratch and dent sale video's for ebay and he doesn't do half as well as Craig. Craig makes you want to buy products and he seems like he loves his job.

      Thanks. We try to get Craig to do as many videos as we can but he is also actually our primary technician and is actually very busy helping our customers.

    A 50a resettable circuit breaker is a dumb idea and start a fire once it resets itself and keeps shorting out

    • @KickAssProducts

      The Idea of a resettable circuit breaker is so you can trouble shoot your system. ie, Un plug your appliances and then plug them back in one at a time in an attempt to find out what is causing the problem.
      We do not recommend that you just keep switching it back on if you have a fault or short circuit in your system.

    Hello. Thanks for your explanations. Do you have a 40A automatic resettable circuit breaker similar to the 50A?

      You shouldn't use an auto reset circuit breaker. If you have a short the last thing you want is that to keep reseting/shorting as then It will heat up the wire or where the short is and can start a fire easily.

    I have a question. I want to connect a fuse, circuit breaker and relay (since I only want to provide power to the device when vehicle is on). So should I Connect the battery to circuit breaker then to the fuse and last to the relay ?

      Unfortunately I cannot give specific auto electrical advice in a youtube comment section. I you are unsure about your specific setup I suggest you consult a qualified auto-electrician.

    In the system you've got set up for demonstration in this video, you've got both a resettable circuit breaker and a fuse box (seen at 0:10, 2:47 and 5:45). Why would you need both?

    • @KickAssProducts
      @KickAssProducts  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      G'day Broderick,it was to show all the components off,with the fuse box you have to replace the blown fuses & also handles all your low current items,when using inverters & higher current items you would be needing higher current fusing systems like the resettable circuit breaker

    Do I need to use a fuse if I have a 120ah lithium kickass battery box with a 1200w kickass inverter?

      You do not, The BMS in the battery provides built in protection.

    No double pole DC breakers? As required for solar panels.

    • @KickAssProducts
      @KickAssProducts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only one breaker/fuse is required for ground referenced systems.
