    Could you do a video on which Anderson connectors to use for which application? IE: After watching a video where winching can draw as much as 500+amps under a heavy load, how do you know which Anderson plug connector to use? An SB350 connector for winching vs a SB50 connector for a fridge or a SB175 connector for powering a trailer, or an SB120 for jumping a car, etc.? How do you know which Amp rated Anderson connector to use? I understand the wire thickness issue but the different rated connectors is what is throwing me off. Thanks for taking the time to show this.

    The dust covers are great to cover the business side of the Anderson connector, but us there a simple way to protect the wire side of the connector from dust, mud and water? I assume the back end of the connector could be potted with epoxy to seal it?

    My only suggestion is - the power pole series. They hold a single wire, rather than a pair. This lets you put a red connector with red wire, and black connector with a black wire, for an easy visual confirmation.
    Great for portable battery setups, as compared to something permanently in a car / trailer / caravan.

    • @KickAssProducts
      @KickAssProducts  ปีที่แล้ว

      G'day Mate,the old argument between solder & crimp argument lol,with all the info & experience in the auto industry iv'e had a good crimp with heat shrink is better known to handle vibration than soldering has been more prone to cracking,but then again if the crimp has been done poorly or cheap tools used then it' as only good as the person who has done the job,i must admit on smaller wiring i crimp & battery terminal cable i have soldered myself

    I tried out a 12V water boiler immersion device for coffee etc, from my cigarette plug and blew a fuse for my radio & Aircon. Now I want to connect this water device directly to the battery. How would you recommend I go about it please?

    • @KickAssProducts
      @KickAssProducts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cig sockets have a maximum current output of 10 amps DC. I would imagine that your water boiler exceeds this hence why you have blown your fuses.
      You need to check the current draw of your device. You might be able to use ring terminals to an Anderson style connector. Just remember that a standard Anderson plug has a maximum rating of 50 amps DC.

    great video, the two and three anderson in to one for solar panels, is it parallel or series connection? cheers

    • @KickAssProducts
      @KickAssProducts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Three pin is designed to connect to your vehicles starter battery and vehicles ignition. Anderson style connection only provide a positive and negative connection. Whether you connect solar panels in series or parallel is dependant on what you are trying to achieve. In a 12 volt system you would only connect solar panels in parallel so to increase current output. Connecting in series would double the voltage.

  • @bialy100k
    @bialy100k 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, you should consider promotion of bigger connectors (175A and 300A) as a standard for home photovoltaic systems. I will go this winter for a 7.2kWh 24V bank system and later want to go for another one - same, used paralelly. It will be handy to have ability to dosconnect one from the banks for a maintenance. I suppose Anderson's are interesting option. I hope they reliable enough for full-time work on serious currents (150A in my case will be typicaly achived few times, every day.

    • @KickAssProducts
      @KickAssProducts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We do not operate in the home PV system space. We specialise in 12 volt portable systems for 4WD / Caravans and camping. Unfortunately we cannot offer advice when it comes to larger systems. Sorry.

    Tks for your amazing introduction.
    Can I use these for AC 220V( Alternating Current) System ?
    I know its rated voltage is 600v. So I can use it anyway with the cover protection. I really want to have a handy (&safe) connector solution for my decoration workers team.

    I have an amateur radio which runs on 12V (13.8V) and can draw 20A. I got the Jaycar cigarette lighter plug to Anderson and have ordered an extra power cable with the 4 pin connector to the radio and I want to put an Anderson plug on it and then I can plug it into the Bluetti. I won’t be using the 100W max power so the cigarette lighter should still be within capacity.
    When using the radio at home I use a heavy duty in line power supply with a big transformer in it.

    Great products, but find it strange when trying to order 2 Blue Anderson plugs and they want to charge over $60 for delivery. I purchase a wiring harness and it only cost me $17. All I can say is just check your delivery charge before purchasing. Very disappointed and wont be buying anything else.

      Thanks for sharing! The shipping calculator is a very complex program that compares different rates with different logistics companies to try and get you the best rate. Unfortunately it is not perfect and sometimes small single items often get overcharged. If you find that you have been overcharged it is not intentional and if you contact us we will resolve the issue for you.
