@JimmyCougar he isn't a critical guy. Read some of his posts. He just reviews things and tells you what they might be good for. Sometimes he tells you when you probably wouldn't want to use the item. The items all work for their own purposes. He doesn't do Temu items that don't work so what would you expect? An Rpi is excellent if you need gpio and a great community. A Jetson is great if you need the power. A mobile GPU will work for what it is intended and none of them will give you the AAA gaming experience of an Alienware desktop. All of it works so there isn't anything to be critical of. Same with the mini hand helds. Maybe those of us who games on the original game boy, just don't expect as much and are amazed at what these little things do.
When I can get one of these for around $30, I will grab it, at $30, I will just put in pocket with my keys and if breaks, I would not care, pull out the SD cards and buy another but, at $50, i would take care of it.... and plenty of other devices I can do that with. Neat device for what it offers at the price point.
Was almost sold on this but that Game Boy green tint is such a huge selling point for me, having to go through Retro Arch to get it is a major dealbreaker. Do you have a similar device you could recommend that could do it by default?
Love this review and definitely picking up 1-2 of these lol. I will say the scan line and grid effects darken things way too much for my taste. Retro arch has better options and lots of core and system customization.
I can never get Arkanoid to work properly on any of these little devices unless I’m doing something wrong or if there’s some settings that I need to adjust I just can’t get it to work
Omg, I'm totally liking this one, but damn it they didn't do a gradient color like the RG280M that I could replace this with. I love my RG280M but its hardware and performance is outdated and weaker. So, I really want something just like it but better hardware. This would be the one, but I really want the gradient color too... uugghhhh
Without joysticks there is no poiut for this machine to emulate N64 and DC. PS1 is a stretch (you are missing out on Ape Escape), but overall is a big miss. Waiting for a revision.
Adding sticks makes it way less pocketable, but adding both shoulder buttons doesn't negatively affect it. This is made to be small and portable, and sticks would make it worse at that.

Analogue sticks are stupid. For small devices, emulating low-powered consoles, buttons are perfect.
I would argue the RG280m is better value despite being a little bit older as it doesn't sacrifice that ultra pocketable form factor

I never understand the point of increasing the power of these devices. No sticks means most of the 3D games are terrible to play.
More acurate emulation is a good reason, however, most people dont really care about that

If they make a game&watch style color or overlay for it, i ll definately buy one
Hopefully it comes with a free screen protector :)
Does it have support for bluetooth headphones? Seems like those speakers might be an issue when covered by your thumb.

Idk if I'm tripping or not but it looks like the black ones buttons are bigger

ETA Will it do Shredder's Revenge?
I get a 404 error when I try to go to the link
did this thing have games installed when you buy it?
No stick, what a missed opportunity.
I totally disagree. Sticks make handhelds a pain to pocket. I'm glad they stuck with decisions that make it super portable.
I like the portability but my optometrist will yell at me

Adding sticks makes it way less pocketable, but adding both shoulder buttons doesn't negatively affect it. This is made to be small and portable, and sticks would make it worse at that.
