Even though Beckett has fallen behind lately I feel they still have the best looking slab. It's also more sturdy providing a greater sense of the card being protected. PSA slabs are fine too. My issue with them is they place too many restrictions (i.e. declared value, need membership to get lower pricing).

That's a really good analysis. I also think their slabs look great. It's a shame how much they've fallen in the eyes of the collectors and in reputation

I love the consistency SGC is becoming known for, but I still don't like the cheap looking black plastic they use. They should get rid of it entirely, make the entire slab black, but see through where the card is. Picture PSA, but a fancy black slab with the same white label.

the $18 PSA submission was a July promo only I don't think it's still going on, the lowest is $30 (USD)

5:12 The "water damage" you're referring to on recent PSA submissions are called "Newton's Rings", which are patterns of reflected light caused by two touching surfaces (typically spherical and flat). In order to correct this, you have to submit pictures of your encapsulations affected by Newton's Rings, then PSA will provide you a paid shipping label that once they receive your collectibles, they will remove the inner sleeve and re-encapsulate the card. On another note, it's Beckett (BGS), not PSA that "ties up your money" for a while. PSA only takes your money once your cards reach the tail end of the "QA Check 2" stage. Your cards are then typically shipped back to you in just a couple of days once they've taken your money and posted your grades. Beckett (BGS) however, takes your money once they have input the information of your order into their system. In some cases, this can happen as early as just a few days after they've received your cards. And then, it's a matter of waiting typically several months before receiving your cards back... Depending on your service level.

Im trying to figure out how to have my 89 UD Ken Griffey jr. graded. Ive been holding on to it with the hopes of getting it graded for over 15 years so Im not so much concerned with turn around time as long as I can trust that it’s in good hands and will eventually make it back to me.
I’ve never had a card graded and I haven’t been a serious card collector for many years now. I do still have a bunch of cards and some of them may be worth grading, but this one for sure needs grading and it looks to me like it will get a really high grade.

CSG slabs by far have the best slabs and have excellent labels now. Their service is superb and grade tough . They have everything you need. PSA slabs are hideous. Cloudy cheap arcrylic outdated slabs. BGS is too big and their labels are something out of a 1990 commercial. Cheap crooked metallic stickers. SGC slabs are beyond awful with that obtuse black border

    • @redcapesports

Interesting. I'm personally not a fan of them at all. Maybe I ought to Revit them and consider them

    • @thereverendripps1733
      @thereverendripps1733 2 ปีที่แล้ว

They are indeed and many of the pushers of the other grading companies will affirm this. CSG also at $15 is far better considering price and turn around time. The only thing this 1 1/2 year grading sports cards department does not have is ROI.

According to sold cards on eBay, there really is no competition for hockey cards (specifically Young Guns). It’s PSA all the way. A MNT 9.5 (gem mint) sells for less than raw.

Hey fellas I've got a 1954 Henry Arron Johnston Cookies original in really good shape. What grading company should I use for vintage card that isn't good centered? I prefer to hold onto it but I want a great score on it, and I want it to be a Beautiful Slab.

  • @nathanhall1412

Isn’t there a PSA Canada we can send cards too?
How come we don’t concentrate on promoting KSA and MNT?
You can go to card shows and get your cards graded as well…

    • @redcapesports

MNT isn't holding value and not well known in the industry. The cost and turnaround times aren't that great anymore. They need to step it up in our opinion.
