As a 45 year old father and new to the hobby, I cannot thank you enough for these instructional videos. They have been ridiculously valuable, and my nine year old son and I watch at least one of your videos every single night before he goes to bed. Really appreciate you.
EXACTLY!!! I buy them for my son because he loves opening them. It does get pricey but to see him smile and get excited about opening them makes me happy. 😊😊😊
So I haven't collected cards since the mid 90's and needed some education. My six year old son in wanting to start collecting, and I might as well be a rookie in this hobby again. I found this video and it's so incredibly helpful. The app is amazing as well. Thank you for this.....and Go Gators.
As a brand new (only 2 weeks) collector) future investor, thank you so very much. This is the most helpful video ive found for people such as myself who has no clue what they're doing 😅
I love this video! Thank you!!! Geoff, I literally created a new TH-cam folder for extremely great sports card collecting videos!!! I took a 25 year hiatus and getting back into collecting! Boy a lot has changed!
Thanx Geoff as usual. The productions are getting better by the day - very entertaining. Your "App" is a must for anyone who's investing in modern cards and attending numerous shows.
Wow, thanks for the video. I was an avid collector throughout the nineties when I was a youth. I somehow lost my way but now I’m getting back into the field and this has been the most informative video I’ve seen on the topic. You covered everything I had been searching for as questions pop up. Thanks again this was extremely helpful.
This video is a GemMint 10. Very comprehensive overview of the market. I’m an experienced collector/investor and I still found it valuable in pulling together a lot of important concepts.
Buddy, this video is fantastic! I’m a veteran card collector of 1 week now lol and learned that the first 3 psa mint gem 10 cards (the only cards I now own) that I way over payed but it was fun buying them. The information you layed down in this vid is priceless…… thank you and I 100% subscribed
So glad I found your channel. Great content, especially for someone who hasn't followed baseball nor bought a pack of cards over the past 20 years. I'm a junk wax kid as well and I've been dusting off my old collection and discovering how much has changed. Thanks for help catching me up! New subscriber here :)
Awesome job Geoff. I only got into the hobby October 2020 and I have learned a lot by myself. Everything you mentioned I already knew but this helps buyers make better decisions. Great, great, great video❗
Shout out from Taiwan, I am a 41-year-old newbie, and I couldn't find a good all-around tutorial video in my language. This helps me a lot!!!! thank you~😎
I was a huge sport card fan in the 90's I kinda stopped when my favorite card company Upper Deck went away. Now I see my little brother is into getting into the hobby & teaching me about all the different variants of cards & what to look out for. I'm in my late 40's & my eyes are not to keen on spotting defects on raw cards. With grading being so expensive I can't afford to pay high end money on a raw card & hope to get a 10.
We were given two boxes of 80's and 90's baseball cards that our daughter ran across and combined them with our lot your videos have been a saving grace for my sanity. Thank you in your attempt to save my brain
I'm starting to love this channel and I'm a newbie..I'm gathering so much knowledge before making mistakes and there are wayyy more than I thought! So thank you for that. I come at the sports card world again after buying a small shoebox worth of cards 1990s football primarily but I bout from retail, mom and pop and even bought some cards off a friend who was a huge collector. I started scanning my box with the Ludex App and most were worth maybe 15c 70c or not much over $3 a good number were worth between $5-40....whether or not I command any such dollar online or at a card shop might not be likely but and ungraded but perhaps there's a couple.
Excellent information. As someone who's collected in the past for fun but has run into alot of frustration with the hobby. It's nice to actually find someone who's willing to share the information and to help new and fellow collectors. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to learning alot more.
walked into a shop today for the first time in 30 years, took my boys for their first time ever. thanks for the info as we hop into it! liked and subbed
I just had my first online break with new mosaic set and pulled a Derwin James blue mosaic /99 in team colors. As a chargers fan I’m super hyped for that has me wanting to get more!!
Dude! After watching this video I am 100% better off thanks a lot for all the valuable information. You have earned my subscription. Also downloaded both your apps. Cheers
Geoff! Great info👍🏼.. same here ima 80’s, 90’s kid and Upper deck,Fleer,Skybox,Flair etc.. are cards that still hold on too as old as i am.. crazy variations nowadays!
I'm 46 and just started collecting graded cards for my own pc, Just want to thanks you for this videos. This video was very helpful, and yeah it's crazy to know what I want to collect or focus into. I like non sports card's like Star wars and Pokémon but I also like those auto sports card but they are out of my price range.
Got back into it recently, and just doing it for fun ripping and PC. After watching his videos It has gotten me into the investment side of it, and its almost as much fun trying to find deals.
I'm just starting to work on my card addiction. It's so hard to break away from it's so easy to buy cards and get into breaks just sitting on my phone during down times
I have some cards that I need graded but they are taking so long to grade. Is there another respected company that grade. I have Roberto Clemente that need to be graded and priced.
Great video! Been collecting for a long time now & starting to "invest". With that said, which is a better investment: getting cards graded or buy already graded cards?
Wow!! So I recently got back into collecting and when I say recently I mean about a month ago. I would say 100% of what you said about ripping sealed wax boxes was true for me. I did purchase some hobby boxes and opened them up immediately and even though I did it for fun I also did it for investing as well. Clearly big mistake lol. So I’ll take a new approach from here on out and get 2-3 hobby boxes so if I DO get the urge to open a box then at least I’ll still have one or two left to store lol. Thank you for what you do, definitely subscribed to your channel after this video even though I have been recently watching them. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
I just started collecting cards for fun but after seeing some of your videos, I started looking at collecting some for investing. I am slowly learning but your videos are more helpful than anything and enjoyable to watch.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video! It's really helped. However, just wanted to find out how would individuals like myself get a case for a reasonable (retail) price?
In regards to the talk about Pristine/Pristine 10 Black...one thing I'd like to see for someone that just wants to buy a handful of cards that are worth enough now but still able to get into like a $300 card that may appreciate in the future to lets say $700 in the next few years....I'd love to see you buy one of these pristine cards and update on the tracking info to see which card has gone up
Referring to your sealed and unsealed boxes value, I have a 1989 sealed Donruss with the cellophane intact and a sealed box on 1989 Bowman taped up. They both have the Griffey rookie cards. Yet when I go on ebay they are sealing for 10.00 a box. What gives? The boxes are 35 years old.
When you say that we never should buy a card right after the series release debut. By example, if I want to buy cards like Trevor Zegras young guns, Cole Caufield young guns and Spencer Knight young guns, what is the delay that I should wait to purchase theses? 1 month? 2 months? Thank you!

Indubitably the most comprehensive & informative video related to sports card collecting on TH-cam! Greatly appreciated.🤙🏽
pulled a Brock Lesner auto out of a Chronicles blaster box a few days ago!! Thanks for the content Geoff and team!!
I opened up about 8 of the blasters, not a huge fan. I guess all the chase cards are in the hobby box, which I can’t afford.
