I think this movie cost, half million dollars to make. The greatest movie about friendship and the simple things in life. Great movie, great acting, just a great all round movie. No stupid CGI or super heroes, just friendship. A truly great movie.
Really awful trailer, makes it seem like a comedy, when it fact it's a slow paced insight into the lives of 3 isolated people who find comfort in each other's company. Beautiful film.
First Peter Dinklage film I watched (at the Angelika near NYU). I remember thinking "I hope that dude makes it big. He has such screen presence". Boy, I am glad to see he did so.
i concur, i wish there was like 20 minutes more atleast. maybe they all go out to the bar and all have a great time, olivia, joe, joes dad, fin, chris and his buddy, emily. and kind of make a bar redemption scene for fin. or maybe end on a train ride for joe olivia and fin. i dunno ive watched this movie so many times
Bobby. What can you say? Everyone needs a “Joe” in their life. His zeal for life helps lift Finn and Olivia from their downward spirals. He’s a pleasure to see on screen. I love that they are all close to this day.
I felt the same way. I just finished watching it for the first time. I was bummed when it ended, I could have kept watching it for another hour and a half.
It's been a long time since I last watched this movie - it kind of sprang to mind out of the blue tonight as I was thinking about examples of compelling human stories told on film. I must say it makes me happy to see all the comments from people who enjoyed it as much as I did.
@Hammerschlägen M its a great movie. if you like movies then Station Agent will really impress you. It has sweetness at its core and the way the interactions and characters are presented it shows about how the little things in life matter and of course makes a point about trains. And about friendship. A very nuanced and poignant look at life. I think it was really well done. Its reputation is only going to get better with time.
This is such a sweet, sad, funny, feel-fabulous movie. I first saw it while flipping through channels on (really) late night TV and stopped channel hopping straight away. Watched till the end and then headed online to see if I could buy a copy, it's that great. I have literally lost count how many times I've watched it now and each time I do I love it even more. If you haven't seen it, I would thoroughly recommend it. Wonderful x
Just saw this movie for the first time and give it a 👍. Brilliant acting made it real and believable. I’m no critic but I watched it twice. PD is great in it.
My top 5 movies, in no particular order, are Being There, Metropolis, Seven Samurai, Das Boot and The Station Agent. The latter is an overlooked masterpiece
I remember I saw this movie on dvd back in early 2010's, i had bought a few dvds on sale from someone. I remember the day was abit rainy, grey and despite having lots of entertainment like movies, games etc to do with, I decided to watch this movie. Like an on the spur moment. I enjoyed the movie, back then i usually watched action movies etc, and had gone through minor depression which is something everyone eventually tries in one way or the other. Thats something I could relate with this movie and that everyones different which is okay, which i already knew back then but it only reinforced that part of me. The movie also showed me to enjoy the small things in life and it made me realise I had met people previously in my life that wern't grateful for anything in life. I watched the movie not sure what to expect but today I feel I was meant to see the movie that day.
Peter Dinklage, such a great actor, creative comedian too. Loved him in the station agent, death at a funeral. Dark , believable, reminds me of Jason Schwartzman in seven Chinese brothers ,or Bill Murray humor in Broken flowers. Peter Dicklage is by far one of my favorite actors. Can't compare him to a comedian but he holds his own in dark comedy film He's awesome
Today 12/13/2019, sitting on my porch discussing movies, i told him about "surfer dude", and my little brother said i should watch this one. I think he is right. so tonite....movie time.
I like this movie. I could relate to Fin McBride & his experiences in a new place. Seeking solitude & feeling annoyed by friendly people & their idiosyncrasies. I liked the ending but would have liked to see their relationships played out a bit longer.
This movie was a bit slow-paced at times but worth a watch simply because it has something different from the rest. I admit it wasn't extraordinary but it was original and tells a simple story that is more relatable than most hollywood movies. And I love Peter Dinklage so yeah.. 😁🎉
This is a well characterized, subtle, nicely written, with everything done low key to a very satisfactory ending of three odd people becoming the best of friends in a quite odd milieu. Not easy to pull off, but they did it. If you understand the small scale and the anti dramatic structure its an enjoyable film. The opposite of Marvel Universe or Jordan Peele.
Peter Dinklage should do everything and anything. Not because he's a dwarf. No. He's 9 feet tall. He's got personality and spirituality for years upon years. I love Peter Dinklage!
Ok ok I'm glad I watched this movie almost didn't because of the trailer then I watched it for a few minutes and thought.. it's too slow this won't be good. So i turned it off then came to the trailer again and read your guys comments, so glad I did, I really enjoyed this heart felt chill movie. Yay!🤸
Whoever did that trailer totally didn't understand the movie. I think they only even watched the first half of it. That was like saying: "The Beef Wellington looked crusty from the outside. Looked like a bunch of carbs, so perhaps better to avoid."
Saw both the trailer and the movie, and the trailer doesn't properly depict the movie. Ending was a bit of a cliffhanger, but I'm sure that was to intentionally leave it all to your imagination. I suppose the theme of this film was friendships built on humanity in general while disregarding different walks of life, cultures and social statuses.
this movie was actually really good glad i gave it a chance too watch but it was weird that him and Olivia kissed also that he kissed the Library pregnant girl didn't like that they could of kept the movie the same without thoses parts

Oh it had a lot of comedic moments.
@@jaelie8398 if a drama has some tension in it, it isn't a thriller. This trailer was off.
barbwireboy2 thanks for explaining it better than the trailer did
Good sarcasm 👍.
Thanks! Def have to watch it
One of my favourite movies of all time. These characters are such beautiful people. Just watch it.
Such a great movie from Alliance Atlantis
First Peter Dinklage film I watched (at the Angelika near NYU). I remember thinking "I hope that dude makes it big. He has such screen presence". Boy, I am glad to see he did so.
He literally never made it big
Walked on those tracks growing up, grew up and still live where they filmed a lot of this, and just found out about this movie
I wish this movie never ended
Watch without a paddle awesome similar to this
Yajat no its not shut up fool
Bingo ! I like the "slice of life" kinda movies that make you care abt the characters
i concur, i wish there was like 20 minutes more atleast. maybe they all go out to the bar and all have a great time, olivia, joe, joes dad, fin, chris and his buddy, emily. and kind of make a bar redemption scene for fin. or maybe end on a train ride for joe olivia and fin. i dunno ive watched this movie so many times
I wish there was a sequel.
This film is such an underrated classic
Seriously, if they cast Peter Dinklage to take over the role of Indiana Jones, I would buy into that decision wholeheartedly.
Ha!! Same here! I'd watch Peter Dinklage read the full dictionary!
Bobby. What can you say? Everyone needs a “Joe” in their life. His zeal for life helps lift Finn and Olivia from their downward spirals. He’s a pleasure to see on screen. I love that they are all close to this day.
He's amazing in everything. Mr. Robot is my favorite performance of his.
This is my go to when I just to appreciate how hard but also how simple life can be
he's seriously handsome.
Very!
Agreed
You're not kidding. He's delicious.
I only saw him onscreen when he was older. Seeing him so young and super handsome was like whow
Dinky Dink?
I could watch this movie on repeat all day long. I see myself in both Fin and Olivia.
I felt the same way. I just finished watching it for the first time. I was bummed when it ended, I could have kept watching it for another hour and a half.
As somewhat of an introvert myself, I can connect to Fin on so many levels. One of, if not my favourite movie of all time.
Are you a midget?then no you can't.not even close ,not even remotely close
I saw this in the theaters when it came out and I try to watch it every now and then to relive the magic of this film.
It's been a long time since I last watched this movie - it kind of sprang to mind out of the blue tonight as I was thinking about examples of compelling human stories told on film. I must say it makes me happy to see all the comments from people who enjoyed it as much as I did.
Lousy trailer but The Station Agent is one of my favorite movies of all time.
I loved it too - it was very moving, and very funny in places. Like others, I wish there were maybe 20 minutes more, the ending felt a bit sudden.
@Hammerschlägen M wtf.
@Hammerschlägen M its a great movie. haven't finished but its great.

This film is so great. First thing I saw Peter Dinklage in. Totally recommend.

A masterpiece, from beginning to end.
I cried everytime when I saw the scene fin gets drunk and shouts in the crowd and then gets to the train.....😥😥😥😥😥😥
Really?
Great movie...Peter Dinklage is a great actor...
Found a copy of this in a charity shop recently, loved it. Still feeling good.
I love how Finn is not scared of alone time. I don't love how Joe is scared of alone time.
this is such a gem of a film ... make yourself a favor and go watch it

I thought the movie was boring, but I loved his acting, never thought he would make it big.
Such a good movie! I just chose it randomly on Netflix when I was bored and I fell in love with it!
Today 12/13/2019, sitting on my porch discussing movies, i told him about "surfer dude", and my little brother said i should watch this one. I think he is right. so tonite....movie time.

I loved this movie, but this trailer isn't anything like it. This trailer is far to upbeat and cheery.
Also Peter Dinklage is hot
Loved this movie, watched it not long ago, ready to see it again. Great cast, Peter Dinklage is a favorites.
Film mojej młodości tyle wspomnień , cudowny film ukazujący i wyrażający prawdziwe problemy ludzkie polecam

Great movie, Peter is such a superb actor!

Bobby Cannavale is really a hot man 🥵… and Peter Dinklage is just so darn talented.
New Jersey looks beautiful 🤩
Peter Dinklage should do everything and anything.
Not because he's a dwarf.
No. He's 9 feet tall. He's got personality and spirituality for years upon years.
I love Peter Dinklage!
This here, is a perfect example of a poorly made trailer
I just want to let u know ☺️ please send this full film

Ok ok I'm glad I watched this movie almost didn't because of the trailer then I watched it for a few minutes and thought.. it's too slow this won't be good. Why does it make it look like a lighthearted comedy, lol.
Really good indie movie i did not expect tht
it's more of a slow pace drama and It's highly recommended if you're thinking to see it! and I'm not even a drama movies guy.

@Hammerschlägen M thanks for your stupid reply
Halt deinen Mund.
His eyes look oddly familiar
Whoever did that trailer totally didn't understand the movie. I think they only even watched the first half of it. That was like saying: "The Beef Wellington looked crusty from the outside. Looked like a bunch of carbs, so perhaps better to avoid."
omg the lady who photographs him is Mags!!!
Good catch! I replayed it and that's Mags, all right. She doesn't look that much older in Catching Fire.
Jo Moody She died recently. 😢
This looks like a good movie

Well! Hello, tyrion
peter drinklage looks like billy joe armstrong
Chin maybe

Stacked cast
Was such a good movie
He was an awesome actor
Now everyone knows
Damn. Gyp Rosetti and Tyrion Lannister.
NJ gets a bad rap a lot, this movie shows a much more attractive landscape than one would expect.
New Jersey is so ugly in this movie, no wonder everyone wants to move to Florida and North Carolina
Real shame such a great film has such a lousy trailer. The fans have to pick up the Miraslack
Peter is one handsome man!
Posta o filme todo
Saw both the trailer and the movie, and the trailer doesn't properly depict the movie.

Çaycı hüseyin.
“A sweet and quirky film about a dwarf, a refreshment stand operator, and a reclusive artist connecting with one another.” is so poorly written.
Rotten Tomatoes sucks
About where in the 1:37 of this demented clip was I suppose to start laughing?..if anyone could help me out on this I would shure appreciate it...
Skyman53 It's not really a comedy..
