- Civic culture in Japan for the most part comes from the Kansai region, so when there's word of a Civic meet in Tokyo, cars from across Kanto will usually make their way into the city, or in this case, Daikoku Parking area.

Plenty of Honda variety in this one, not common for the Kanto region! What would you Civic of choice be from this video?
Love them Honda cars!
The fit RS
I always forget Japan didn't get the civic coupe. The em1 has always been my favorite civic, I have a red one in my collection. From this video I like the early 2000s style civics, they bring back memories from car shows when i was 18
My cup of tea🤌, man it's amazing seeing so many amazing civics on the road from the Golden Era still around. So many have been cut in half and sent our way, it's nice to see these people still care and are passionate of they're possession. Thank you Dino 🤙 your doing great keep the content coming bud!!
Can’t go wrong with any of those Honda…but the fit RS is mean looking 😎👍👏
I love how simple these old 80s/90s/00s Hondas are. I'm a mustang guy, but I've got a special place in my heart for the JDM scene.
This is quickly and easily made it to my top couple of channels to watch. I can't stand the craze of over saturated "build" vlogs, I want culture. this is it! thank you for the perspective you bring
You’ll get culture here that’s for sure. I also try to present it from a more insider-type perspective rather than the tourist-in-japan view
Although it is originally a rest facility for drivers, did you know that the large number of tourists without cars trespassing and gathering here to take pictures makes it difficult to use the facility as it should be, and the area is sealed off late at night and the police are mobilized in force.
If you try to photograph a modified Japanese car, you may be arrested in the worst case. At the very least, you will lose your means of getting home and will have no choice but to consult the police.
@@kao-x8c who asked
No honking, no tire squealing, not even the usual Lambo V12 soundtrack in the distance. The Japanese bruh...😇
It’s a culture built around mutual respect. Simple.
Wait till its all electric, then it will always be like that
7:40 HAHAHA
9:30 HAHAHA.2
Loved how you casually brushed off that Bentley 👌😆
I'm sorry if the sentence is wrong. I'm the owner of Idemitsu color. Thank you for using the shooting for the ending!
こちらこそありがとうございました。かっこいい車をお持ちですね!可能でしたら是非もっと撮らせて下さい!私のインスタグラムへメッセージ頂ければ幸いです!
Love that “508” EG. seen it on other channels. The period inspired graphics are so periodically correct.
Re: 4:55 - not strictly true. The (also) Swindon built FN2 Type R 'Euro' (sold here as the Civic Type R in lieu of the now commonly imported FD2) is also technically sold in Japan. The EP3 shown also was launched around the same time as the DC5 ITR (they're a very similar car underneath), and the CL7 Euro R (along with the UKDM Accords on the same chassis) were also all Japanese built.
There's 4 generations of Civic Type-R's that were built in the UK. I find people often confuse the Euro-R with the european market Accord Type-R. It is a little confusing though.
@@dln.sweeney very good point, I almost entirely forgot about the FK2 and FK8. Given they're K20C turbos however, a part of me just considers them to be an entirely different car.
@@MattBeardless Different vibe than the golden era cars, no doubt.
It's awesome to see the love for the Civic wagons, even saw a third gen! It seems like the wagons get ignored a lot when there are CRX's and Si's available. Great video!
Thank you!
Man, great video, you're creating some of the most picturesque and atmospheric looking car content. My car of the shows gotta be the Beagle 4x4 shuttle. Thanks man 🤘
We’re going for a Speedhunters-in-video format look. Glad to hear it’s liked 👌🏻
Deadly video! More Honda please.
The EP3 was probably the most successful Type R in the UK. We love the EP3 here.
More Honda? You got it!!
@@dino_dc video idea. I know Japan also has a massive scene for the model cars and some of the biggest model car shops in the world. It's difficult to get English content on them.
Also with such big shops there has to be Japanese people who have massive model car collections.
Incredible footage!! Great video! Ur doing stuff most of us will never be able to do or see thanks for bringing us with you!!! Keep pushing!!
Thank you! Will keep them coming!
Love seeing all the different Honda builds from the Motherland. Soo awesome.
Thank you so much for representing the 3G Civics, have never seen so many together (I own 5 myself) and they all had their own styles and flaws. This really made my day 1:17
Every April 19th!
Never a dull day in Daikoku! It looks as if the Civics are all up for some Kanjo racing!
Nice mention on the Accord Euro R which is my favorite Honda, it's like a mature gentleman's sedan yet packs a Type R punch.
The back drop of Daikoku never cease to mesmerize me as always, those shots of Civics leaving the parking area is simply stunning, would make a great wallpaper!
I love the Euro-R. Had it for a few weeks back when it came out, totally is the gentleman’s choice in Type-Rs.
After owning 2 SB3's, EF, EG and EK... imo the SB3 is still the best chassis out them all closely followed by EG. The EF and EK are no means bad either, in fact phenomenal in their own right, old civics just hit differently. SB3 have unreal driver feedback, handling limits and just for the raw driving experience they offer. Love seeing SB3 content.
Although it is originally a rest facility for drivers, did you know that the large number of tourists without cars trespassing and gathering here to take pictures makes it difficult to use the facility as it should be, and the area is sealed off late at night and the police are mobilized in force.

I get excited every-time i see a Daikoku PA special... I laughed when you said unnecessarily loud hahaha could not agree more. some nice clean builds and some hmmm
If I’m right all ep3’s were built here in the uk but the white jdm one was built in Japan I think,I know that ep3’s were built here then imported to Japan for sale
Great video! I loved daikoku when we visited in Feb. Was the best night!
EP3’s were hugely popular in Europe. Strangely built in Swindon and shipped back to Japan with DC5 running gear and champ white paint (we didn’t get champ white in the uk for some odd reason)
Other type R’s built in the uk were the FN2 Civic Type R and the CH1 accord type R.
CL1 and CL7 EuroR’s were both Japan only models. Still odd they were badged as EuroR rather than a type R. Great cars either way.
You can then add the FK2 and FK8 civic type R’s to that list. FK8 was the last to be built before Honda uk Swindon was closed down
Yeah so confusing! Appreciate the clarification. Glad you enjoyed the vid!
Fantastic vibe. 🎉 great video as always Dino !
Glad you liked it!
Dude I really wish I could find another 1989 Accord.
Such a tough little car. Great motor.
I see Daikoku I click....
Love that old Honda emblem.....
Wow Kicker subwoofer..such nostalgia....
Amazing video as always, Dino. I’ll be in the Tokio area 2 weeks from next Monday and cannot wait 🥰
Thank you!! Enjoy your trip to Japan!! Say hi if you see me, I'm kind of easy to spot lol
@@dino_dc Thank you so much! Do you remember when we met at Gatebil 2014? I was like „We’ll provably never meet again“ and you replied „You never know“. I still laugh about that, because it might become reality 😂 If there’s any event you attend in the upcoming 2 weeks, let me know please 😊
Oh man, as a Honda, it’s like a must for me to experience this one day 😮 thanks for sharing this Dino !
April 19th 2024, don't miss it!
My fav new channel - I've been a fan of yours since the early days of Speedhunters (2009? 2010?). There's been a void of truly knowledgeable TH-camrs since Capt. Bradford stopped doing videos.
Thank you so much!! Appreciate the long follow! Happy to hear this channel fills that void lol
In terms of CTRs the FN2, FK2 and FK8 were all built in the UK as well.
Dino, the EU civic is the 5 door hatchback. The Type R is the EP3, ‘cause is the 3 door hatchback. ;) In Europe there’s also the EP1 (1.4), EP2 (1.6) and the EP4 (diesel one, don’t remember the displacement). There are 3 different EP3s: the jdm Type R, the european Type R (without LSD and 10hp less than the jdm), and the US SI (with 160hp).
Love your work!!
Cheers from Portugal!
Thanks for the clarification, and feedback!!
@@dino_dcHi Dino,do you have any ideas is there any underground car meetup during the Tokyo Auto salon 2024,I would like to experience and attend this kind of event.Could you please enlighten me or notified me when and where they will held this kind of car meetup even.
Love to see the return of Civic wagon to US.
Man the EF love is real, amazing video Dino
Thank you!
All the Honda Booiiizzz were there😆😄
7:32 Even the cop car is slammed😆
9:30 Symphony
Awesome quality on the video Dino. Thanks!!
Thanks Ray 🙏🏻
What an amazing place!! I would love a EG Type R
90s Hondas. My golden Era!
Golden era for all of us
Just the Upload I've been waiting for 😊
Good to hear!!
FK8 Type R was built in Swindon England 🇬🇧
FL5 is now built in Japan
Thanks for the coverage, Dino.
My pleasure!
I'm a golden era Honda "kid", but man the FD2 Type R looks so good. I think I need one!
Dave, go for it! 😆
Oddly enough, the JDM version of the EP3 Type-R is a different spec (Japan keeping the best versions for itself even when production is outsourced to Swindon...) with a DC5-spec K20A engine and gearbox, whereas the UK/EU version used a slightly milder K20A2 which is ~500rpm and 20hp lower in tune. That means that many JDM EP3s have actually been 're-imported' back to UK and typically trade for more money (like-for-like) than the locally-delivered cars. Weird...
Probably due to emissions? Thanks for the clarification 👌🏻
FN2 is also another UK built Civic Type R from 2007-2011
Finally an ep3 in Japan on a video 😍
Didn’t realise the lack of content on these cars!
@@dino_dc probably not that many in Japan, I have one imported in 2019 to the uk ☺️
So much in my feels with this one. The 90s cailifornia baggey clothes with usdm/jdm flavor of cars. This just doesn't seem real and should be a gta server or something. So cool.
GTA server is the perfect way to explain the meets like this - very similar to the Shibuya Lowriders meet every month!
Daikoku could never disappoint 🤝
Never.
Love the Honda content.....I know spoon is building an EG Civic I'm not sure if you have seen or covered that.
Which one?
Keep up the great work hopefully you can get some Coverage of the OSAKA scene.
That's the plan!
you and Larry are always legendary
Thanks man!!
The accord euro R’s were built in japan, the cl7 chassis was a japan only vehicle much like the GTRs of the golden era
love that white Soarer leaving
Ep3 wasn’t the only one type r sold in Europe, the FN2 type r was also sold there
Thanks for the walkthrough at Daikoku!!! I’m travelling to Tokyo for a week end of May and would love to experience Daikoku or other meet ups. Have any suggestions where I could go because Daikoku seems difficult to head to without a car
Yea you need a car to get there, it’s a highway stop. Try take a look at UDX in Akihabara, should see something for sure
Dayum Dino this is siiick. Would love to see a Aerodeck accord from the late 80s on the channel once, if you could track one down!
I'm sure we can find one!
I loved seeing the mk3 Supras
cool thanks brother😁
Awesome! 🥳 It is just good car culture, the police should leave these cars alone.
FYI, FN2 and FK2 Civic Type R are also built in the UK 🇬🇧 besides the EP3 👍🏻
The FK8 was as well, right?
@@rjung_ch ah yes UK 🇬🇧 too. I missed out the FK8
@@christopherlaw9184 cheers, it's my daily driver in Switzerland 👍
Epic
Greetings from korea 🇰🇷 😊❤
Greetings back!! 🤙🏻
The white Mugen A series from the beginning looks hard! That's one of many picks , when so many golden Era 88-00 civics its really hard to pick just 1. Il take an nsx anyday though
NSX is king
@Dino DC yes sir!!! Such an amazing piece of Japanese engineering. I know your a skyline and older nissan enthusiasts deep down inside. But I love the appreciation you have for anything automotive. Porsche, honda, nissan, I'm sure I'm missing alot because of your Italian roots. Iv been such a big follower of yours, paddy and Larry Chen during speedhunters you guys do such an amazing job. I'm loving the video content
Daikoku never gets old.
Been going for 30 years and still not tired haha
good work capturing this stuff bro!!
Thank you!
Porsche super clean 😎
So many treasures 🍥 !
so early 2000s it hurts i felt that lol
Random daikoku nights …. What’s not to love !
3:42 I thought the eg coupe (ej1) was only available in North America?
Sorry, but all FK8 were built in the UK as well.
More civic scenes please❤
You got it!
07:42 Yes, it was beautiful!! 😢
Next mid night racing team😍
Might have a car or 2 of theirs lined up 👌🏻
Quality as always
Thank you!!
FK8 was built in UK as well
Awesome meet in Japan bro thanks for sharing
No prob 🤙🏻
Fd2r😍😍
Banger 🔥
How did you know about the meet? I just got my Civic back… after 10 long months…. I would t mind going to a meet.
Just through the grapevine, but it turned out to be the yearly Civic meeting on april 19th, 419 - shi-(b)i-ku
Besides the type R is there really any interest in the 10th gen civic over there? I have yet to find one video of a 10th gen in japan. I know they didnt get the coupe which I find odd, and the sedan didnt sell well. What about the hatch though? Any idea?
That roof on that civic @ 8:36 is not stock right? never seen that before.
Doesn't look like it is - seems to be VW's Openair retrofitted...very bloody cool.
That s 94/95 Honda Accord. The roof is not stock it’s a sliding ragtop. Legacy Products is the popular band here is the US. I would like more information on the car if anyone has any? Owner? It’s cool to see a left hand drive accord in Japan
@@Rolow_ check out Zerofighter - they import a lot of USDM Hondas for Japan.
Please mention fd2 typer next time❤
I tell my wife I want to go to Japan but this is 99.9 percent the reason why…
You're welcome haha
compared to those Honda meets held at Cosco in the UK...
Man I want to go there and I am fairly close, but no way to get back once I get there 😭😞
Well you have a ride back with me if I’m there 👍🏻
Gonna take me and my car so we can build it proper.
4.5 mm exhaust tip
I have a ef9 hatch I was gonna hook up a fuel cell. Where would I run the gas line? Under or in the car?
Under
Do you recommend going to Daikoku PA on a weekend? I'm making a trip out soon
Yeah for sure, Sat night & sun mornings are epic
@@dino_dc thank you!
i would like to know if theres a website for private sales of cars in japan I am looking for something in particular and cant seem to find it at auction
There's car sensor dot net, that's about it unless you want to go through Yahoo auctions
A M A Z I N G 😍😍
What kind od Bentley is in 2:12? Looks like RR. Thanks

Is it possible to get to Daikoku as a tourist or is it a little difficult??
Best way is to get a ride. Tourists also come by taxi
@@dino_dc I was thinking of getting off on the nearest station and then taxi from there?
Damm 😮
Way more civilized compared to American counterpart
この場にekシビック乗ってって居たのに盛大にスルーされてて辛い

Do the police ever hassle the car owners? In Australia the police often go through and defect cars for their modifications. Exhaust over legal limit, cars too low, etc etc.
Nah they only do that at Tatsumi when they have an agenda.
@@dino_dc car culture seems so good in Japan. It's really struggling in Australia, you hardly see nice cars around these days.
動画のタイトル、東京になってるけどDAIKOKU PARKINGは、東京ではなくて神奈川の横浜にあるよ!
In English it means the Civics are from Tokyo, not that Daikoku PA is in Tokyo lol
Is it possible to get there on foot or only by car?
It's a highway rest stop so yes you need a car. A lot of tourists get a taxi from Yokohama station but then end up getting stuck there. I've given plenty of lifts to guys & girls that have gotten stuck there lol
@@dino_dc tnx
When can I see these gatherings?
Well the Honda one is once a year but most fri/sat nights are a sure thing
