- We've been taking you any and everywhere the last few episodes because there was so much going on during the Japanese "Golden Week" vacation period. It seemed like there was something going on every single day because people are just happy to be out and about again. But...in this episode, we get back down to business covering what we've come to be known for...All things in Japan, in the Kansai region specifically, related to '90s era Honda Civics. The weekend of Golden Week, we were invited out to see the JJ Cup event at Central Circuit in Hyogo featuring a one-make style competition of time attack Civics. I do a track walkthrough of the event, show you guys some of the grittiest Hondas that this area has to offer. A day before that however, I stop by to make a shop visit to Charge in Osaka and also stop by to visit our friends at Mecha-Dock for a good old Golden Week BBQ!...

My favorite thing about the Japanese cars is that not a single one of them is “perfect” scratches dents paint whatever. I love it.

Yeah I hate how here in the States everything has to be OEM or Mugen and some cars barely get driven because of all the expensive/imported parts they be wearing.
While in Japan there's a lot of homemade stuff and they are proud of it, which is exactly the route I chose to go with my own Civic.
A really cool video would be your philosophy, tutorials and explanations on how you shoot photography/cinematography. Would be really cool to get your insight on how you started!

I think it's crazy how much stuff is just everywhere in these shops... Seems like controlled chaos to me!
I always think my shop is cluttered, but the shops in Japan are next level, it gives them so much character!

15yr old in me , would have wanted for these videos to exist back then, but we had to buy DVD'S like Best Motoring or magazine's to do our homework on the JDM brands or shops that were either custom making or racing and proving their quality product.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤙🏼 In order to get ideas and be unique here in the states
Joey, just wanted to take the time to thank you for the content you provide. Having taken a break away from Honda’s for a short while to peruse other projects, the spark has most certainly been reignited to get an EG in the future. It feels so comforting watching your videos again. Reminds me of times before the world stopped. It makes me feel optimistic which is a very enjoyable feeling. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

You better start looking soon, by the time you are ready a clean EG shell is going to cost you 5-10k
@@tylerbarker2038 Quite possibly yes, but original and non molested examples do come up from time to time. If anything, a shell may be a preference. It’ll save me the headache of snapped rear LCA bolts and other inherent EG characteristics haha

I had a civic ef sedan that I loved dearly me and a good friend where in the process of stuffing a k24 in it when a off duty cop was drinking and driving and hit it while parked in front of my home at 3AM he hit it very hard it was in a yard 3 houses down the street I was so angry cop had to be doing 70 plus through my son division the trunk was literally in the back seat but it still fired up and rolled drove all that good stuff

@@brdllc They're not available outside of Japan and I don't even think they are in production anymore...
What circuit de carreras en Japón es ? El TSUKUBA the SUZUKA?
I always wonder how they tuck the wheels so nice with out rubbing? Are they running 16" wheels on most of there civics?
It varies, many run 15s, some run 16s. Often times they just modify the fenders slightly to fit a thick tire.

They're regular NGK spark plug wires.
Why no CRX? You think with all the ef hatch love some would have the crx.
There are a couple out here but they are still pretty rare. Most guys are trying to restore them now and don’t participate in track events. Some are really fast and only come out sometimes.
Any idea on what Coilovers/Suspension they run on EF9's in Japan? Zerofighter?
