I just really like hes one of fast riders and very skillful yet is able to be honest with himself and see a mistake and understand what he did wrong wow what a great rider Your a good dude keep coming with the vids!!!
Race winner Hayden Strong is fun to watch, we saw him killing it at ToAD last year when I was there. Well done Jeff, that looked like a tough course for sure
I'm a clydesdale and just started doing crits here in Dallas. 1st off, I suck but I'm having fun. So listening to your vids are informative and I've actually implemented several of your techniques. I'm a mid packer by mentality but with experience I can see myself moving forward
I've been binge watching your content for the past three days - exceptional work! You got 'held up' by one of the crashes and seems like a few of the racers needed to stop and wait for the danger to pass. How does the race reset after something like that? Or do you need to catch up from the back?
If the officials don't neutralize the race and start everyone as a group again, you can try getting your own free lap from the official the same as if you'd had mechanical issues. Otherwise you'll have to try to catch up with the back of the main group.
to add to that, the free lap is not as nice as it seems. officials will usually let you back in towards the back, which means you lose your positoin and have to sprint back up to speed in order to catch them.
you probably dont care at all but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost my login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Harlan Kingston i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I know you probably won't reply because this is an old video but.... What camera/lens are you using for the (slomo) shots taken from the side of the road?
You're sooo often not on a wheel and taking wind. But only in the higher-level crits, not your local races. You give great tips in other videos, I think you should consider this one for yourself: tighten up to a wheel.
I've never used the "sagging" technique, always stay in the top 20. I was coached as a jr. to win the 1st corner and we'd get a $1. Then make sure me stayed close to the front. I read races like you though, finding the best lines, and best spots to move up. Great vids mate.
Nice aluminum road bike is like 500$. You won’t be dropped because of your frame and wheels aren’t carbon. Ever. You will if you not fit and experienced enough! 😁
Yeah I would say things like a properly working drivetrain (even claris should be good if your cables are good), sticky tires and smooth spinning bearings are the only equipment that really matter. In a pack, your comfort, skill and fitness will overwhelm everything else.
I tell people that if you are held up by a crash you have the right to a free lap, take it. The official always has the discretion to DQ you. By the way, getting let back in at the back of the pack on a technical course is definitely not worth the ~2 minute breather, but it beats dodging crashed riders and sprinting to close the gap.
@@NorCalCycling Did you formally take a knee or just head straight for the pits? Sometimes the moto will radio in who crashed and who didn't. Officials will use discretion but can be very hard on the lower cat races.

Wow, tough course! I did a crit like that once and only lasted like 5 laps, good job hanging on. Thanks for more great footage!
Great content and tips as always. I love every video. Can’t wait to start racing. Thanks Jeff!

I love your videos keep it coming 👍
The guy with the Green bike looks like he finished in the top eight.
He was always up there in the mix, he's a strong dude
I love your vids. I wish I could hire you to coach me, but your videos are a great education!
WHY ARE THESE SO RELAXING TO WATCH?
Upload right at my lunch nap time
Worth the sacrifice, looking forward to 7th stage! Thank god you didnt crash in one of those crashes
Those slow shots are dope 🤙
Damn Man TOugh course , Great RIde and cool vid as always
Poor ol mate in orange at 9:40 does a full 180 and almost holds it. It looks as if the force on his back wheel rips his tub off.
15% is leg sapping stuff fast or slow. Good coverage and commentary.
Nice vid as always. Maybe a wind direction (arrow) next to the map? Makes it a little more interesting 😁
Nice video, by the way, what kind of power meter did you use? Thanks
Loved it.

I think he uses a gh5
Thanks!

Hmm Mr. Green Bike was in the $ it appears... Keep up the good (hard) work. -U10
SHOULD. HAVE. FOLLOWED.
NorCal Cycling I feel your 20/20 hindsight pain. Race footage is so hard to watch
9th! Top ten WOOOO!
9th comment that is lol

Does anybody know at 2.15 to 2.21 if that is Bjorn Selander in the mostly red and black jersey?
99% sure its dennis ramirez riding for NCGA. Bjorn doesn't race much these days, especially not crits
@@haterstrinnahate Thanks for letting me know!
Can you do a video in your new bike, I’ve seen you got a new on your strava
Yes, it's coming I promise! I got the fit dialed now I am logging miles and really testing it for an honest review.
I've never used the "sagging" technique, always stay in the top 20.

Man every one of those bikes look expensive and fast. Makes me feel poor for doing the Chicago triathlon on my Salsa Marrakesh!

It's the riders that are fast not the bike. Jeff has a knock off fork and wheels haha

High FPS stuff is great.

No way dude why is it a ba didea?
I though you’re good the little guy who won this group ride from Texas Roadhouse got dropped in a Belgium Category 2/3 race .
Fuck yeah!
Thomas, winner of first again!
@@NorCalCycling my evening wind down often includes falling in a TH-cam hole... How lucky I get to spend it with a new NorCal Cycling video! ♥️
Hmm. It doesn't look like you got caught up behind that crash. It looks more like you stopped willingly, took a little breather, and a free lap.

Agreed. What a bull shit free lap!
Don’t be so hard on your self Jeff
Sometimes the errors (not following green bike) are so obvious after the fact!
