I just watched four minutes of ads, including a 3 minute awkward Squatch men's soap commercial in order to support your channel. I hope it was worth it.
I actually find myself "pedaling" during these videos while I sit on my couch. Awesome videos and commentary as well as the information on race tactics/decisions. Thanks so much for the effort!
I remember the Trainerroad podcast episode where they discussed "the sprinters gap". Small gap such that when you snap and go you pass with a good speed differential such that they cannot jump right into your wheel. Great video once again, keep them coming.
Jeff, can you PLEASE add temp to your template? I'd love to see what NorCal guys (who in this video are in full leggings and gloves to nothing but kit) wear at what temps. hahaha.
Great commentary and tips guys. Just a thought, would you consider making the rear camera into a mirror image? So it's like a looking in a car's rear view mirror. It makes it a lot easier to keep track of who is on your left/right
How do you do traffic on the roads that are used. I see parked cars that you have to negotiate and cars driving on the other side of the road. The only barrier for the cars on the other side of the road is some lines painted on the road. all of the racing done here in Australia have close to all traffic roads.
None the less fair amount of live cars out there and sometimes a car pops out around the mostly blind corner by the residential houses. I can think of some hometown group rides out in the country where we were hated. Interesting to see what is essentially a race ride crit not be questioned by the city.
I won't say you guys can't race, but honestly, when I see those speeds around 30km/hr at almost every lap, soft pedalling, and I hear you suggesting that's the moment to escape without too much effort... That won't ever work in Europe where criteriums are always hard and there are never any breaks from having to squeeze out at least 250W or more. You don't get this kind of free rides over here.
Can you describe the course? You guys are ripping through stop lights and into full lanes of traffic without (I assume) worry of there being a car in the lane. Is this a semi-controlled traffic area at the time of the races or... whats the deal?
All right turns, 30mph speed limit, industrial park...That pick-up truck must have passed them at 40+...could have waited behind safely instead of going over the speed limit just to sit at the next light...
This racer is a very deluded individual with the good fortune of a huge sprinters kick. He owes that Steven a few beers for his last tow. And a shame Steven didn't give him a bigger "punch in the gut" when he went past and made him chase back on harder for his wheel
You can see Steven's frustration at 11:28 to 11:32. He's probably thinking, "Why didn't you take another pull? We could have carried this to the end, , now look, the whole group caught us!" I noticed that the narrator only takes pulls on the downwind section...oh well, all's fair in love and racing, I guess.
I'm liking this Steven guy. Cheap frame, cheap wheels, blowing the doors off a lot of folks. Probably needs better tactics though.
Stephen is strong af in a break. He won once on Thurs with 4 to go when Jeff wasn't out there .
What’s his setup?

Nothing says "your weekly local crit series" like a lady swinging her door open under 2K to go AND a guy getting jumper cables at 700m.
17:05 the yellow gloved rider in the rear view disappearing into the the distance while fully sprinting:
That's how all my Zwift races end :D
The man is doing 1200 Watts+... that's what u get :)

This was high quality commentary. Really enjoyed it guys!

I love that you jump straight into the content. Keep the intro's are for R&B songs.
Your videos are very informative Jeff. The commentary was golden

Blasting through traffic lights on red like 'Im racing I ain't got time to stop' 😂😂
You always make it looks so easy! Great video as always.
I remember you like this course. Good to see ya just ride wherever in this race and still kick butt at the end
very much enjoyed this one - I get a lot of info out of these Alviso commentaries
guy's threshold is my Z5 :(
Watching this before heading to the local race gets me STOKED for crit season. Hope to get to race with ya again soon!
Thanks Justin. We're planning our summer races now, hope to see you at some of those big events
Another fantastic video
these videos are much appreciated ! Thanks !
Jealous of the warmer weather in CA. Race time in NYC today was 27 degrees.
This channel is mint for inspiration
Drat. Dinner time. Gonna have to wait like 3 hours until I can watch this.
The studio 😂

The corner after the start/finish. There’s a stop light and what looks to be live traffic. Does traffic ever interfere on this course?
No

NorCal Cycling Short and sweet

Sprinting against Jeff is no joke.. The field can't outwit him :(
7:12 ride the cement, more traction, faster

It's safe

NorCal Cycling I was curious about that stop light at the bottom right on the map - how does that work? Is traffic from the left coned off?
@@NorCalCycling Going through red lights is safe? Not hating... just confused
I did a race got dropped and in the last 400m there was two of us and we literally did longest lap type of thing 😂🤣
SL guy did all the work 😂
I see what you did there.
I tried this trick. I couldn't get around the rider...
Are the thumbs down from people who don't like pineapple?
Interesting comments...
A better sprinter's trick is called the hip sling. Another is called the jersey grab and hold. These are illegal.
