From Season 3 Episode 3 "Sharpe's Sword": On a mission to protect the identity of Wellington's master spy `El Mirador', the dashing swordsman is nearly done for by a French foe. Nursed back to health by a mute young girl, Sharpe continues his search for the man who injured him - armed with a new hand-crafted blade with which to dispatch his attacker.

Hagman is actually composed of 90% best brown paper and paraffin oil, that's the secret to his indestructibility..

In the book it was Harper who made the sword Sharpe uses. A restored 1796 pattern Heavy Cavalry sword. Sharpe lost his original sword he was given by Captain Murray in 'Sharpes Rifles'.
Strictly speaking Sharpe ought to carry a sabre like 'Sweet William' (Fredrickson) has. Not being a gentleman Sharpe wouldn't give a damn for Regulations.
I love this series. I once owned all of it on DVD except for when he became colonel. Good work Sean Bean

michael caine was right. you can see the difference up close when Mortimer and Bean are together. she keeps looking from eye to eye, and he stays fixated on one place on her face. it changes the dynamic between them completely.
You've watched the acting masterclass I take it. I only found out about it recently and watched it all. I've this episode of Sharpe a number of times and never picked up on it, not consciously anyhow.

at the end of the episode she goes back to being a nun and she's never mentioned again in the show
