Noble 6 is the only Spartan on Noble Team with a completely unknown birth place, birth date, and even FULL name, and has quite a mysterious past. In a February 2010 issue of Gameinformer it says he was born January 30th 2530, making him about 22 years old before dying, but this probably an error since Bungie.net reports no birthdate, and it’s the same day as Kats. It’s probably true, or maybe 2531, because Noble 6 along with 418 candidates were taken in by ONI to begin under Beta Company in the Spartan 3 program. In Halo Reach players are able to customize the look, and gender of Noble 6, but during production meetings for Halo: The Essential Visual Guide, it was confirmed Noble 6 is male. I feel most fans figured he was male already, but it’s interesting that something needs to be researched to be validated -- and honestly opens the possibility for Halo Infinite to start leaving flexible, and moldable grey areas in lore for players to fill their imagination with, so as long as it doesn’t break or affect the story much.
As a child, like 6 or 7 years old, Spartan B-312 started his training. Like many others, he became an orphan due to his parents dying by the Covenant, and was recruited into the Spartan program on the promise of revenge. Unlike Spartan 2’s whom were replaced with diseased flash clones and forced to be ONI’s personal weapon, Spartan 3s were eager to become a super soldiers, and die fighting the Covenant. B312 exceeded training along with only a few others amongst cat 2 teammates, they were eventually handpicked by Lieutenant Commander Kurt Ambrose to serve in special operations.
On July 3rd, 2545, the worst mass casualties of Spartans took place during a UNSC operation to destroy a Covenant refinery. The intent was to stop production and capability of Covenant fueling station, which was conveniently placed just outside of UNSC space. Being successful would triple the time for the Covenant to resupply, and buy humanity time. Ultimately the event ended in 300 Spartan 3 deaths, which you can learn more about in my other video, but thankfully Noble 6 or Noble Team didn’t come, as they would have certainly died.
However, that wasn’t knowledge for everyone that he had survived. B312’s existence had soon been marked out with black ink, top secrecy, and he was soon sent out as a black operator, no profile, non existing, and became an assassin for ONI. And by this time, I estimate Noble 6 was only 14 or 15 years old MAYBE a little older. Coisdenly, His whole Spartan career only lasted 15 years before meeting his end on Reach in 2552, but during his career, he had become known as an efficient lone wolf assassin, having entire rebel groups disappear and single-handedly destroy terrorist organizations. Unfortunately the details of his missions is mostly unknown, but we do know he was pretty busy taking down human insurgestionists during the war, and undoubtedly faced many, many Covenant soldiers. He was used as a personal weapon and bodyguard for ONI, and probably used carefully to take out leaders, or threats to their power. From the little we do know, he was excellent on ground-based combat, and orbital missions. Dr Halsey referred to him as “hyper-lethal” rating, with the only other Spartan having that rating is Master Chief. Yet during this time of intense missions, and combat, he had never seen a glassing prior to the Fall of Reach. Originally Halsey had disdain for the Spartan 3 program, but still saw Noble 6 as equal ability, and trust worthiness to Chief himself.

I really like that 6 wasn't included in that mural for the Museum of Humanity because it really drives home one of the central points of Reach: sacrificing yourself for the greater good, even if nobody remembers you.

My theory for your argument is simple, maybe he was sent into this team secretly just like we don't know his previous adventure only this one is revealed to us or told to as a fan of the series.
(breaking the fourth wall this character is just created as a vessel for us to see what happened in reach the alien attack we just heard in game but never really shown or the brutality of these human vs covenant war and therefore this game come and help us understanding that war and its brutality)

It would be cool, but considering the immense customization options for Six's armor (not to mention gender), I doubt that we'd get anything like a canon helmet that Six used.
However! If Halo Infinite had a feature that could see the helmet/armor used for the campaign in Reach for the Master Chief Collection, something like that might certainly be possible.

I like to think the reason we have so little history on noble 6 was to make easier for the player to imagine themselves as the character and that his history is what you imagine it as.
He's definitely a character to project yourself onto i mean he's silent and you can decide what he looks like

I used to be spartan like you, until I took a needler to the knee.
I always liked that last mission. Just getting the bubble shield and the energy sword was usually enough to let you stay alive indefinitely. You'd think they'd eventually run out of Field Marshals and Generals to send... Or get so scared by this man standing on a mountain of corpses that they'd just say screw it and finally glass the place.

I love 6 because he was my Spartan. I replay halo reach on pc like 4 times because his armor, his weapons, his past and his/her gender is up to the player. The game gave the liberty to create your own badass lore about 6.

I'd LOVE for a Halo game to have us return to Reach as Chief and we get flashes or musical cues from Reach. Hell even finding Six's recovered armour would be amazing. Having Chief see the armour of the one responsible for his survival would be a very emotional moment.
In the back of my head I like to hope Six survived somehow but the chances of that are close to zero.

The fake death of 6 wouldn’t change the story’s intent of it being emotional and about sacrifice, his death means a lot but his return would mean a lot as well. We should see a mysterious mute spartan with a signs of survivor guilt doing secret stuff in the background giving us fans of the franchise a glimmer of hope, like just few seconds of him being around in Halo Infinite.
Because people can think its 6 or someone else, a spartan being known as dead to the public eye would keep him easily in the dark. Hard to notice yet leaves trails of cartridges, used up covenant weapons and bullets around if you take a closer look. Hoping it was 6 but keeps it a mystery.

No. The only reason it is classified is because 6 is supposed to be a self-insert character with people's imagination being his origins. Making a game about his background would ruin the character.

Chief never would have stood a chance if the covenant had ever had a chance AND the balls to just glass his general area.
Lone Wolf chief has blown up multiple covenant fleets, escaped exploding halo rings, fought back the flood, pretty much single handedly. He also defended earth against a whole covenant armada. He’d have a better chance then anyone in a glassing.

@@dylm8689 he would have the best chance against a glassing, but glassing is still glassing. The covenant never tried to glass Chief because they were terrified of damaging the Halo rings in any way, and on Earth they didn't have the time or resources to properly glass his area.
Also, chief had help against the flood if you've forgotten, between Arby helping to destroy the ring to exterminate the flood in Halo then teaming with him later on in Halo 3.
Theres be times were ONI classify people as dead when theyre alive for reason for a personal grim reaper or secretive reasons he could be kept secret he could have survived ONI is covered in black tape

Jun did survive Reach and continued to recruit Buck into the Spartan 4 program. He came across Buck on his honeymoon with Dain after his wedding and made the offer to which Buck declined and advised to come back at a later time after his time off with his newly wedded wife. Jun honored this request and returned to bring Buck onto the Spartan 4 program. Halo 5 lore behind the scenes.

Chief and Jun have to track down rogue Spartan IV Mickey Crespo on Reach after he escaped from alpha-nine during the events of shadows of reach book and they find six already after him as he reaches a innie base.
I love that Noble 6 passed. He went out on his shield like a real Spartan.

Honestly, after playing I grew close to noble six. Caught me super off guard when he didn’t leave with jun. I would love to think he survived and oni started keeping his whereabouts a secret again but that’s kind of pushing it. But maybe that’s why he was always the lone wolf in the little time he spent with noble team he attached himself so much he didn’t want to leave the planet .

6:14 the only thing I disagree with is technically there would be no way to officially identify 6's death. Thus he should be labeled MIA unless if there is a time gated clause. So, I am assuming 6 was only labeled KIA for tightening up records or to be made a martyr for others.

His death wasn’t the saddest part. It’s losing his first friends that he made and maybe the last, I think that’s the greatest sacrifice he made even tho noble team didn’t like him at first.

I really think he deserves his own game. The setup is so easy, a flashback to Noble 6’s past where you play through his covert days. It would flesh out an already explored concept in halo ODST kinda with the sneakier tone, but a full on covert halo game would be something interesting.

They publicly announced 117's death. An announcement of Spartan 117's death (Master Chief) on October 27th 2560. (October 27th is the game's launch date.) He died "in the line of duty" according to the woman making the announcement. "Our entire species suffered today," she says. So regardless of what was written about Noble 6 being glassed, legends never die.

I'm just throwing ideas out, but I assume that III's would speak a lot. Especially as a fireteam since communication is essential. Six barely talking is kinda creepy. Doesn't acknowledge or confirm much. He just gets an order and shit happens. For a II like Chief it's expected and smiled upon, probably cause of his record. But for a shadow like the lone wolf himself, it's kinda scary.
ODST and Reach were my introductions to Halo, Chief is cool and all but I love it when we get to play as our own characters and the customization in Reach is amazing, hopefully with the success of Reach on the MCC 343 will take some notes.
We all know what happened to him, he survived, grabbed Emiles knife, and went to hunt down master chief to convince him to stop perusing Cortana.

Thorn, bruh spartan armour is coated with a heat resistent material specifically to deal with the heat of plasma. How resistant this makes them to fire is hard to *guess*at, though. Spartans have fallen from orbit, through the atmosphere, and survived, but they've usually had something to protect them (a Forerunner door for Chief, a re-entry pack for Noble 6) Spartan armour can definitely take the heat. I could see it deteriorating and breaking down over time in the ground due to it not being in use for a long period of time tho. As a die hard halo fan it’s just hard to imagine that the armour could be burned mere ashes.
Okay then here's a good question how come the helmet didn't deteriorate then not to mention it's not that hard for noble 6 to go get another Spartan helmet off a dead one Spartan he could have used one of those probably figured my helmet is busted his ass still good I'll take his instead it's not that hard to take off my helmet
SPARTANS122 Ouellette, Well assuming we’re seeing halo combat evolved in the final cutscene of reach, It hasn’t really been that long so give it more time it likely would. As for noble 6 picking up other dead spartan helmets, (since no one in halo has switched up they’re armour builds) I’d like to think that every spartan is assigned armour that suits they’re specialization and style for them after the recruit stage. so switching a partially damaged helmet with a HUD meant for the user with another dead spartan would be kinda inconvenient if you ask me. Kinda interesting how both Noble Six and Master Chief are similar in that they're both "hyper lethal" Spartans and yet they are fundamentally different.
Six preferes to work alone but was ordered to join a team.
Chief was team leader but had no choice but to work alone.
Plot twist: Noble six had called for evac during Lone Wolf in-between waves, and eventually was able to survive until level 5-6 meaning the covenant gave up on him, and was evacuated. This would ultimately mean that the corpse seen in the end was a flash clone they made to make it seem as he died, and the last mission was altered to make it seem like he died. He may be emotionally scarred, but ONI thought he was too valuable and deadly to let die on reach. Hope i dont get crucified for posting this, but it seems like a high possibility considering ONI "Blacked him out" in most primary sources.

@@jeremyallen492 there were other spartans that survived the glassing beams, and ONI had him as a Hyper-lethal assassin, (before he joined noble team)with the only other spartan to be classified as hyper lethal, was Master Chief.

The Covenant doesn't have the power to glass a whole planet, instead, they glass the more important areas. To glass a whole planet would take a lot of manpower and resources that could be better spent elsewhere.

As much as I would love for six to have live I like what you said about the sacrifice and how him surviving would take value away from that. Chief was a badass character when I was a kid but being more mature now six is definitely one of my favorite Spartans if not my number one already.

There was a famous line in halo reach "Spartans never die, they're just missing in action" so in that case, he may of been lost forever and ever, before he eventually passes away. His armor had no chance of use. In the final mission being destroyed to pieces. He must of done something after, maybe starting a settlement for the lost, but on that note we'll never know what happens.
I always like to bring up that prior to the human-covenant war, Spartan-II’s were originally meant to fight insurrectionists. Since the Spartan 2’s were out in the front lines of the human-covenant war, the majority of spartan 3’s were doing the top-secret ONI dirty missions making insurrectionists fully disappear. It sucks we never got a HALO story with the Spartans going against ONI as what halo 5 was supposed to be before cortana plot line that makes no sense. It would’ve been a unique experience to actually go full on Spartan vs Spartan action like kilo squad.

For anyone doubting 6's death, in the books spartan 3s are clarified to have no shielding, weak armour with the only special thing being cloaking units and speed. Spartan 3s were made to die, they are expendable units. One spartan in the books is shot by plasma weaponry and they get their organs melted, another one is shot by a needler and had a massive hole in their chest. Linda in the shadows of reach had half her helmet melted by brute plasma weapons.
We saw 6 take almost all of these things in the cutscene, he is undoubtedly dead, the energy sword seals it. He couldn't move let alone overpower an elite, then gets stabbed which even has almost put down master chief before, since he's a weaker type of spartan hes garunteed to be dead

@@TheIrishBread they were given the suits with shielding, im aware but even Linda who was in modern spartan armour got her armour melted. The spartan 3s are less physically strong, smaller and less resistent to damage then the spartan 2. 6 is dead. The armour he was wearing doesnt matter

Considering that Carter made a point about teamwork to Six when he/she joined the team, they were most likely one of ONI's Lone Wolf operatives.

Honestly 6 would be awesome come back I haven’t played halo games since this game because I loved the character so much and if he came back I’d definitely buy the game just for the story or atleast a mention about him again would definitely make me buy it
I'd love to see a odst esc prequel that goes over six before his transfer to Nobel team and how his family was lost to the covenant and his time fighting insurrection troops. Like they could have a mission that starts with six needing to take out a insurrection cell and upon arrival at the location the insurrection cell are all dead and the covenant are found to be within the facility and it shows six and their first encounter with the covenant.
Really enjoyed watching this.

Why does everyone think that 6 is alive? It was already confirmed by both Bungie and 343 that 6 is dead. Even if he did escape from those elites, he would've died due to the heat and radiation coming from the Covenant cruise ships glassing Reach. There would be no way for him to get off the planet, since every ship, both human and covenant alike would be destroyed or highly damaged to the point that it'd be impossible to fix or even find a part, let alone, it's alien tech, meaning it'd be hard for him/her to know how the stuff works.

@@RikuIsLost even then, he didn't have the tools to fix the ships. Everything was destroyed, both tech wise and any form to try and communicate with anyone to help him. Even in the ending, "2568" or something like that, his helmet was still there, now a part of the planet as a reminder that one person was able to lead humanity to safety by giving up his life.
immagine in a future halo game/film/series or whatever, seeing a high rank covenant wearing noble 6's helmet on his shoulder. When he gets reckt humans take the helmet back and thanks to it they recover big part of noble 6's story... amazing...
