Spartan 4s are cool tho. Good armor and training paired with numbers. Pretty damn good
Okay the Spartan 4s take a lot of flak for existing. The spartan 2 and 3 program saved humanity but at the cost of using children. Humanity saw what a single Spartan could do wanted more. Ths Spartan 4s yes they are a little cocky but that's what makes them human. Remember the first thing dr. Halsy tought about Spartan 2s was to be quiet then to be Spartans. The Spartan 4s are less trained and undoubtedly un augmented as spartan 2s but when humanity is at constant risk its the Spartans who get things done whether they're Spartan 2,3 or 4s. Not saying that they deserve the same amount of respect as Cheif but understand why they exist.
Ares Division I don’t hate them either. They should make really annoying ones and really likeable ones. A good contrast.

That's all Kurt gets, a subtle mention? Dude was one of the top three candidates for becoming Master Chief, he led Green team and lost them during Silent Storm, part of Blue Team for like 4 years, up until ONI faked his death to make him a lieutenant responsible for training 900+ Spartan 3s that played a crucial part in winning the war against the Covenant. He also gave Gamma team the illegal upgrades so that they'd have a better chance of survival. An entire planet is named after his civilian name!

That armor is mark 4 while mastercheif in halo 1 is mark 5 and the rest of the halos master chiefs armor is mark 6

Spartan NOLA and NV66 was unknown spartans. They was trained on reach, all that's known is that they was trained on reach, then during the fall of reach, was sent with a team(unknown) to get data that later contributed to the RAIDER MJOLNIR.
As for Carris-137, aka Carris R Pernault, she was a Class I spartan, and caused the first trainer casualty for the Spartan-IIs, was later seen crying.

The fall of Reach is a great book for anyone who hasn’t read it. It mostly follows John, but it’s details a lot of what the spartan program is. Also recommend First Strike, as it details what happens after John destroys the first halo ring, it describes how Johnson survived and I think Linda was also found
I recommend ghosts of oynx as well. Goes into high detail about the Spartan 3 and blue team has a cameo

I've been obsessed with the spartan roster more than anything. Mainly bc I fell in love with the whole concept, family and brotherhood of these people. I as a lore fan wanted desperately that as much of them survive or come back as much as feasibly possible and probably spend more time creatively wondering and creating possibilities for lore and games than anyone else. Real dorky but they did it - they got me hooked. Incredible warriors.
Hope to see Jerome in infinite! To have him and John reconnect after so long can be such a impactful scene

Kurt Trevelyann, is aka Ambrose, he taught the spartan 3s, there was an entire book on this, the first onyx book. It's also why onyx is later renamed to trevelyan

I think one of the greatest things people underestimate about the Spartan 2s especially when comparing them to other batches is that every spartan 2 is also a genius, would have been an Olympic athlete, and other things like that. Augmentations are only as good as the augmentee, and the spartan 2s are the best of humanity even lacking augmentations
Also they seriously need to go through the spartan 2 ranks and cut it down to the correct number.
Wills death is the most Baden’s thing I’ve ever read he killed a hunter in melee combat, before being shot point blank with a fuel rod gun he then managed to take a step or two forward staying upright before dying, the entire front of his body would have been melted and vaporized and he was still standing
That’s what’s always annoyed me about the lore in Fall of Reach when compared to the rest of the series. Four Spartans die in a pelican crash, six get vaporized by friendly fire, and two just vanish in a cave system and die “off-screen”. For badass super soldiers, the author was REALLY uncreative with their underwhelming deaths that basically contradict the former description.
It’s no wonder they had to keep adding new spartan II’s when more than half of them are casually deceased in the _first_ fucking book of the series. I don’t understand why everyone is bothered by the canonical inconsistency with the number of spartans. They wrote themselves into a corner BY DEFAULT. There were barely any spartans left to work with and they were STILL killing even more of them off.
If they just left previously unnamed and irrelevant spartans alive for future writers these inconsistencies wouldn’t even have happened. They really needed a better long-term plan for the series.
Tbf Spartan II's have insane luck and get saved a lot. Kelly almost died point blank to a hunter shot but SIII holly jumped in front and got vaporized
Sgt Frost No, only the “chosen four” have that luck. John, Fred, Linda and Kelly were the only notable named spartan II’s who survived the first book, and every writer after that seemed to take that as a sign that they must be immortal while every other fucking spartan _has_ to die. The fact that Will even made it to Ghosts of Onyx is nothing short of a miracle. The spartan II’s are as far from being lucky as you can get as far as most of their deaths are concerned. I’m assuming John’s luck only rubbed off on his closest friends, because they’re pretty much the only spartans the series gives a shit about.

Sgt Frost I’m talking about the books. The games are left with so few spartans to work with that they can’t even afford to kill any of them off unless they’re created for that explicit purpose.

He's pronouncing them incorrectly, it's a trend on TH-cam right now to purposefully make horrible pronunciations of fairly common words so the comment count goes up, which is picked up by the TH-cam algorithm.

Philip Manousakis Gamma was the 3rd company of Spartan III’s trained, 330 in all. I not sure what Cat II is?
Philip Manousakis I’d say Gamma wasn’t Cat II overall then, maybe some of them were picked out to be cat II, but Gamma Company was the one that got injected with experimental drugs and required frequent anti-psychotic drugs to keep them from basically losing control and turning feral. So they wouldn’t exactly be ideal to put in Mjolnir, in the event they didn’t get there medication lol
Philip Manousakis The CAT 2 Program got shut down before gamma company. So it is VERY likely that their were no CAT2’s in Gamma Company.

Spartan 118 was turn into a Head hunter special ops, he was the archeologist find precursor and forerunner worlds, he was a childhood friend of John in king of the hill, he was new to the neighborhood at that time from Earth. He was the 3rd hyper lethal soldier ever behind john and before Noble 6, he also befriended Noble 6 on a special mission where after he completed his mission assisted Noble 6 to destroy a elite Special ops base. That killed 2 head hunter teams.

I like to think Joseph 122 was used as an ONI asset after capture considering that the other 2 surviving escapees continued to fight the covenant

That would be great, but unfortunately we don't know a lot of who they were, pretty much nothing of alpha, just two of beta, and like 15 of gamma.

@Drew Daveros One of Gamma after ghost of Onyx would be enough for me. I kinda like Alpha and Beta to be faceless, with the exceptions that we know already.
You try to paint 343i as greedy for whatever reason, and fail at realizing that there is already books regarding Spartan 3s. I forget the name, however, it's frankly a bleak tale. The majority were wiped out in one battle, and others on Onyx. Making a game about it would be no different to Reach, ODST, or Wars.
Wild Arcanine alpha was wiped out no survivors and succeeded in their mission dying to suicide of the bomb going off or the hordes of covenant sent, beta mostly died besides 2 that being tom and lucy because the covenant literally couldn't kill the III's in a ground war and deemed it suicide and decided to glass them. Gamma is mostly Alive if I remember correctly.
When I first got into xbox live. My first only GT was a halo xall sign design. Ironically, 116 is my number. Malafor116. Always loved hearing about the fact that there is an actual 116 in the lore.

The death of Black Team still annoys the hell out of me. After all they did in their comic, they just get slaughtered by the Didact, AND ITS DONE OFF CAMERA/PAGE. It just feels so disrespectful that they were killed in such a way. It’s genuinely the only thing in Halo that I want retconned.
