Your 3 part series on the sai, was amazing, I’m also a practitioner and love the sai. I’m envious of the collection you showed in your series. I’d love to see more videos on the sai. Again thank you.
Robert, where’s a good source for “battle ready” sai? I’ve had one for years that I got at a swap meet as a youth, the other one, um, broke at the mote… I’d love to get a set that were tough steel, not just chrome plated junk.
I can't stand that plating either. But honestly sai are such a simple instrument, even a factory non-plated one is fine and will last forever. It's just not like the difference between a well made knife or sword and a cheap one, you know? Energy Sai of Agena has handcrafted ones but they're in the hundreds of dollars for a pair. Shureido (Shureidousa) has always had a solid reputation with the karate community as far as I know.

Thanks for the kind words and for watching. I do plan on stepping up the kobudo videos this summer, including sai.
