The slave system in this show is clearly built differently, the slaves in the market are bad people, only their children are involved(rudeus had thoughts of criticizing the parents of those children), Rudeus himself just ignores it and doesn't fight it. However, he will react to kidnapping children into slavery.

This episode did a decent job adapting Chapters 4, 5, and 6 of Volume 8. Episode 7 will most likely finish out Volume 8, maybe even spill some remaining bits into Episode 8. Which means that Episodes 8 (for probably the most part), 9, 10, 11, and 12 will probably be of Volume 9, which is gonna showcase some great story telling just before the anime goes on a 6-month break.
...... Rudeus didnt assume anything when he asked Julie that. He said "IF, like me, she could be reborn", he didnt assume that everyone can just isekai like he did. He thought that, if she was at the end point where living is so painful, then maybe death is the best option, and IF, IF she got another life as well, thats the best thing that could happen. He wasnt betting on the chance of her getting isekai, if she got isekai, great, if not, still better than living in pain. He saw himself in her, so he offered her the choice to quit when she had no will to live, rather than kept on living a life of regret only to die in more pain. Because thats how he felt, and the choice he wish he had made in his old life, to quit while he was ahead. And he wasnt playing god and thought that everyone can just do over, he asked her that to test her will to live. Even in the novel, iirc, he said he wasnt sure she was like him, or that he couldnt make this choice for her, he just saw himself in her, and offered help in his own way in the form of that question, but he knew that she was only one who can save herself. And that her not wanting to die was already a goodsign, that she wasnt at the point that he ended up in his later days, so he decided to help her so that she would never reach that point.

I don't think Rudeus thinks everybody could be reborn. It's just a wishful thinking. But the mentality behind this conversation is more like active agressive emphasis. Slavery can be a better alternative to some things. Things have to be very bad for it to be a relative better alternative though. Like i would prefer to be a slave than have organs or other parts stolen.
If this season turns out to be 24 episodes like Season 1 was, we'll be going beyond where the manga currently is. Season 1 was approx 52 manga chapters. The manga is currently at 92. The book had Season 1 ending around Volume 6 so if Season 2 can get through Volume 13 I think we'd be at a great stopping point for Season 3.
Season 2 will have 2 cours so 24 or 25 episodes. But there is absolutely no way the anime will adapt volume 13. V11 is the longest volume in the series and V12 is one of the most important ones. With 24 episodes it will already be super hard to adapt until the end of volume 12 even.
@@JMB_SmashYes they're already gonna have to cut a lot of content to make it through 12. I wouldn't even be upset if they stopped at 11, but obviously 12 is a far better stopping point.

it was just the names of the spells "wyrm gate", "disturb magic" no the whole thing, he didnt actually make incantations, see how anthony or cliff with the "Fierce spirit of flame and dark bastard renowned in hell, now is the time to rise to the land and raise your fist aloft. Smash incinerate and devour my sworn foes utterly and dye them black. Exodus Flame!" have to recite a whole ass poem before they get to the name of the spell in order to do their magic
I think the only magic Orsted used was Disturb magic and a Wyrm gate. I'd have to double check if he used an incantation for the gate magic, which seems to be a dragon race specific magic, so we don't know if it takes an incantation or is more like the howling magic of the beast race. Disturb magic didn't use an incantation but we don't know if it needs one to begin with. So we really can't tell if Orsted is capable of silent spellcasting.

Oh dear, sorry you feel that way. But she found out early on her parents were killed. Since she was only sent close to home it was easy to find that out. It was the over time bits that it makes it harder to find out what happned to people. I though episode zero said something about that. Or many the manga. But yeah the princess did research and found out they died. Which i never knew if she way lying or not because she also lied to keep Sylphy to stay with her longer by saying she cant leave her side or she will be seen as a spy for being so close to the princess. Which could happen and she can be killed for it. But she lied to her because she could have fixed that but didn't want Sylphy to hate her for it.

This is just bread and butter isekai I don't know why would there be controversy hahaha. The real controversy here (that I am pioneering) is that Rudy feels something for fitz. This whole bs about him having feelings despite thinking she's a dude and being confused makes absolutely no sense, its a "love transcends everything" narrative and I'm a grumpy man who wants ruthless "realism" in mushoku.
yall live sheltered lives - how the heck is this shocking? Our generation fought 2-5 wars in the middle east depending on how to count them, we graduated during the 2008 financial crisis, yatta yattta yatta, how the F is this shocking?
This is already controversial in the anime site. Everyone calling rudy a Pdeo and how dare he thinks his past life was as bad as hers. And it is annoying how people don't see it from their mindset. This scene was always important because Rudy sistee kinda goes through the same thing. And even if they brought her if those eyes never had even a hint of life to them. Then it would be useless to buy her. Forget that she wont be a good fit to work. But she wont even try to live. Like in demon slayer where that slave girl didn't even eat unless told to.

Slavery can be a better alternative to some things. Things have to be very bad for it to be a relative better alternative though. Like i would prefer to be a slave than have organs or other parts stolen.
I still will never understand why a mage is putting stats in STR instead of INT.
anime only guy here, so my question is the studio skipping too much like tokyo ghoul or skipping only the extra stuff
?
@@lucasvanwijngaarden670 pretty sure they showed bits a pieces that looked like it was from 12 in the Season 2 trailers
@@Tetheral It did, but that was trailer material, not part of the end product. So while it was advertised they will go to volume 12 they could still take a different approach.
Wait Orsted can cast without incantations? Didn't he use them in the fight againt Rudy?
it was just the names of the spells "wyrm gate", "disturb magic" no the whole thing, he didnt actually make incantations, see how anthony or cliff with the "Fierce spirit of flame and dark bastard renowned in hell, now is the time to rise to the land and raise your fist aloft.
@@reignmans I just thought they are shortened incantations like those that Roxy uses.
Am I the only one who was bothered that Fitz hasnt even attempted in any way to find her family & Rudy due to her "Responsibility" towards Ariel only being able to read books on teleportation ? I just think its fucked up that Fitz is made to prioritize Ariel over her loved ones..
So this is is LN material that they skipped in the s1 buuuut, when Rudeus returns home at s1 he learns that Silphys parent is dead so there is a really big chance she knows he is dead, also at the end of s1 you can see silphy recommending Rudeus to the university and thats what made her and rudeus reunion happen
@@JoseLopez-gi9sf its not the part of weather theyre alive or not it's the part that she wasn't given the opportunity to at least try and find them for me
I know they died but wouldnt it feel worse that you didnt even try to find them because you had to make Ariel's well being take precedents over that?
@@gluebreeza1999 I mean even if Ariel would have let her go, what exactly was she supposed to do? Walking around the entire world on foot as a ten year old with no help?
@@JMB_Smash She didn't have to let her go ? Instead of going to the Academy they could have joined the groups that the government gave up on that were still looking for the missing people and go from there
id feel a lot better knowing I at least tried to look for my loved ones even if I didnt get that far
So we got the same as the Japanese version
Sorry, I just... feel compelled to complain that it wasn't "I want to live", it _very explicitly_ wasn't "I want to live", and the scene would have been much less impactful if it _had_ been "I want to live".
This is just bread and butter isekai I don't know why would there be controversy hahaha.
The real controversy here (that I am pioneering) is that Rudy feels something for fitz. That makes no sense to me, he should either think "this dude looks like a hot grill and I know why I like that, he's probably a girl in drag" or simply perceive her as a dude and not feel anything.
This whole bs about him having feelings despite thinking she's a dude and being confused makes absolutely no sense, its a "love transcends everything" narrative and I'm a grumpy man who wants ruthless "realism" in mushoku.
13:53 is it not a little crazy that rudy is able to drop zenoba whos a gifted child with essentially super strength with a knee to the knee?
Weak joints can drop huge people in our world from small people popping it as well.
It's not, since he's hitting it at a weak spot. A child will be able to drop you as well if they aim at the joint from the back.
@@steve_yu I dont super strength mate.
next episode gonna cause twitter to cope lol
who was that girl jooging around i dint noticed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish I have someone to end it for me. God I wish.
get a job
yall live sheltered lives - how the heck is this shocking?
Like in demon slayer where that slave girl didn't even eat unless told to.
lmao being a NEET is no comparison of being a slave.
@@ErikaBernLambda of course not, nobody saying it is. But when your mind is that broke it, you can't do anything. You can't move forward. And that could happen to anyone for any little thing or any big things. Because minds are not equal.
@@ErikaBernLambda So you are just going to ignore all the trauma he had to endure throughout both of his lives and only focus on the NEET portion?
@@ErikaBernLambdathe this scene all about metal state of someone whos want to die
@@ErikaBernLambdabeing a NEET was a symptom, not his entire issue.
The "Reeeeee" People will be next week.
Sooo, I must admit I was really uncomfortable with how casual Rudeus was with buying a slave, and now I'm wondering, should I continue to watch this show?
Why did it feel like the episode was only 5 minutes long?
And for all the hate the manga is getting, I think this scene was done a little better in the manga. Novel still best tho.
interesting
Who in the hell is edis
The controversy came. People have feeble minds.. god forbid another world have different principles..
gotta be honest i actually think lower of the three of them for purchasing a slave.
Ppl talking about controversial stuff about slavery here, but keep silent in any other anime. Idiots.
Rudeus Greyrat, The Quagmire ❌
Rudeus Greyrat, The Shield Hero ✔
Yeah this episode made buying a slave good thing and it annoyed me.
People who harp on morality when it's in a fantasy setting are annoying and weird.
Dude you keep doing this thing where you’ll make the same point for most the video other than that I like your video accept for the way you say eris’s name it’s not edus and it takes me out of the zone everytime you say it so don’t change anything accept dwelling on a single point for the majority of the video and stop say my favorite person name wrong I’m working my way thur all your videos and every one I keep Hoping you start saying her name like they did in the anime
No one is complaining about slavery in the world, the outrage is Rudeus's indifference to slavery.
The idea that instead of commissioning tradesmen or mages to do the figurines he's cool with buying slaves.
So it was not a happy ending for Julie, she is still an effing slave.
