In 2001 they were pop punk, have you not listened to Does This Look Infected or Chuck? They're were mostly metal in 2004. They went back to a pop punk sound with Underclass Hero but have been metal since Screaming Bloody Murder

@@Squall6575 there's so many genres it's hard to keep up and label something,I just meant they have been heavy since DTLI, but most will obviously only know the hits from AKNF and assume they're a pop punk band, so it suprises people when they release songs like this. Anyone who likes this should venture back through their back catalogue as there's loads of good stuff.

@@erictankeastburn6291 I dunno guys, while there is some double bass and a cool riff in the intro, the rest of the song is POPPY as fuck. i was kinda dissapointed with the EDM style minimal verses and the rediculous sing songy chorus we have all heard a million times.
At least its something in the rock vein and it has a guitar solo, beggars can't be choosers, but this sounds so poppy to me.

Shane Crampton I couldn't clap to that enough. To ANY sellout band in any genre. It's a dying breed to stay real man. Most took the easier way out for fame and cash and it's miserable. Sum 41 still has an awesome mature fanbase from what I can see in the comments as well and isn't invaded with preteen cringe.

Idk if this makes sense or not but I see him using a Strat single coil. Now the other guitarist uses Les coil, a humbucker. So the sounds does not muddle and flat.
My prev band both use SG and both sounds similar. So the solos/lead and such doesn't sound as clear.

Song had a great SOLO with pinches and a dive that really sounded metal, the riffs are basic as fuck though. You sound like an asshole though and should work on your people skills. Funny, to me Chuck was always that so so album that came after all killer and half hour of power. Still good but not as good as their first stuff. Then they had a more poppy sound after going without their lead guitarist for a while. Which still wasnt too bad but not the stuff I preferred. It was just the last album where they regained their original lead guitar and they started sounded good again and then some.
They manage to keep their Sum 41 sound, and mix it with good ol' fashion metal! Having Dave back is such a blessing!
