I actually love the "slaves" beginning because you can grind lockpicking on two (free!!) People instead of just one, and there is toughness grind called "running away slowly on purpose" One of my current playthroughs is with two hivers "crackle" worker and "Falling Tide" fighter ,easily skipping earlygame because of them grinding toughness so damn much at slave camp. Also the latter is right now so powerfull that he makes limbs flying even with the worst weapon.
Honestly the funniest thing in kenshi was finding out I could straight up carry people out of slavery and it’s good to see others come across this revelation

Getting out of Rebirth at game start is absolute joy with the Genesis mod. It is so well guarded that it really takes time and planning. Day 25 I was finally able to knock out a guard, steal his gear and just walk out in disguise. What an absolute adventure to start off with. Lost an arm too so I can annoy the Holy Nation even more than the character being female with her shiny chrome. And she is now running a group of topless amazon warriors from Vain wreaking havoc in the southern parts of Holy Nation enslaving their warriors. One of my funniest playthroughs yet. 😅
Actually, lost a leg can be a huuuge opportunity, you can became the sneakiest of the sneaky snake. At some point, the guards probably see you but let you escape because they admire your courage. Or because the know you are useless, and they don't want to buy prostetic. For the HN, crutches are the devil. They are kind enough to act like they didn't see you.
i love kenshi now but i did give up getting out of prison after 30 times trying, i was expecting that the guards would make work but they never take me out of the cell
Escaping rebirth is the easiest thing to pull off. Train athletics to 30, steal and eat food until you're stuffed, lock pick the gate leading to the floodlands (at night), and there you go, guards can't catch up to you and you have a flotsam hideout just waiting for you with food,supplies and clothes. Now escaping project genesis (mod) rebirth, thats a whole different nightmare...
One of my guys was locked up in Stack, high inquisitor Seta started to chase him even though he's served his 170 odd hours in prison and was no longer a wanted man. I took advantage of the situation and Seta chased my guy everywhere. My guy had no weapons so we just ran into hostile mobs everywhere and into the bar in the Hub. Eventually I got a crossbow and ammo from dead dust bandits he had wiped out and his hitpoints on his arm and legs went into the minuses he collapsed and started healing. I picked him up and took him to my town near the hub put him in a cage and healed him. I sold all his gear and sold him to the Shek for 40,000.
Well, I wasn't going to escape prison, among other things for the reasons listed here. But since Nurse did note she'd be amused by it, I feel I've no choice but to escape prison now.

Escaping prison is the matter of shoes, random, and athletic skill. With wooden sandals and 60+ athletics you can escape from any captivity, the only problem you might have is running away from samurai scouts if you were caught in UC
i got attacked while mining and started to crawled to the nearest town. my leg was totally destroyed and i was starving so i stole some food and got arrested where my leg was patched up by 5 outstanding guards. i been training my lock picking skill while i wait for my injured leg to heal. either ill try to escape or wait out the sentence.
