It’s still works, if you picture this in the Treasure Planet universe! Just picture the “waters” as the cosmic ice rings of Saturn, and the firestorm as a battle taking place on the surface of Jupiter.
When the glasses get blown off and you just replace them with another set just cracks me up every time. This song and video is sick, I cant wait to hear the rest of the album

But if I remember right, Jonathan mentioned (in the Spotify video on his other channel?) that the outfit that made the discs stopped making them because they weren't selling. I was ready for metal sea shanty. I was NOT ready for the manliest musical experience of kickin animations and the catchiest beat on the seven seas. Incredibly well done Jon and all those involved in this, this was an experience.

I would have a Tan plastic naval task force, including a battleship with railguns for its cannons, an aircraft carrier, and a submarine armed with cruise missiles, and torpedoes attacking a green naval force consisting of an ordinary carrier and battleship(no railguns) resulting in a naval/aerial battle. then the green rear admiral, stationed on the carrier, starts playing "music that any good sailor should know" and this song would play for the duration of the naval battle. So, do I have your permission?

as a alcoholic dwarf barbarian who turned a fight with the local lords castle guard into the scene from shrek where he and all the knights got in to a wwe match, it made me smile.

Darn it, this NEEDS to be a movie, preferably a dieselpunk/alternate history one where not only do pirates still roam some parts of the ocean in this alternate version of 1903-1936, but the electric guitar was invented and metal music was conceived decades early, thus allowing the main characters to actually SING this song.
Treasure hunters search for a centuries old pirate treasure, battling all kinds of enemies, and have a darn fun time rocking out in the process.
Absolutely love some the details in the video! the ship having speakers, lights, and a disco ball for weaponry, Jon's glasses being blown off and having a pair on standby, his badass gauntlet sword thing!
Starship Velociraptor was one of the best things that happened in 2021 for me, and I hope that, with the pace we have right now, the entire album gets sweet music videos!

Dude Starship Velociraptor has been the single best album I've heard in years. This is one of my favorite tracks and I'm so happy to see it get it's own special treatment, Hugo did such an outstanding job on this. I know you're probably very popular for your cover art but goddamn I look forward to each day you post original content cause it fucking slaps

I love the floating four-armed robot dragon drummer, absolute peak character design.
This album is so perfectly absurd that it has inspired no less than three different tabletop campaigns in as many systems that I want to run. Congratulations, you've given some adventurers a lot of work to do.
Just discovered this through Ragnarock VR; love playing to this and I loooove this music video too! Amazing quality animation. Really puts you in the mood for adventure, and I love that squad there - the dragon'ish drummer one and the SNAZZY CAPTAIN captured my attention completely!

I am usually working wheb i listen but just caught the video and it is lit. I love how he completes his mission to get the spotlight on the ball even while falling to his presumed death. He accepts that he did his absolute best and is fine with this being how he goes, he is a hero accepting death. And then he gets saved and is just like "oh goodness, you chaps aaved me?" And gets back up to keep shredding the keyboard.
This and Glory or Gold are my absolute favorite songs off Starship. I love the silly songs too but Man the Cannons and Glory or Gold are both such epic sounding tracks that I can't help but sing along every time. Can't wait for your next project, Jon!

I love how the band is back in this, drummer is a fucking alien, our guitarist a machine! Loved the animation of the tentacle bits forming monsters and just overall really creative take on a pirate ship that fights with music.
